  1. Ok, that's where we differ than. You think we can win the superbowl with Matt Cassel, a LB, OG and WR. I do not. If you'd party like it's 1999 for Matt Cassel play - then there's nothing else to talk about. As you know, we did have Matt Cassel. He got beat out. I wonder what 34fan would do if we got a LB, Guard and a WR and traded back for Taylor. The reaction could be potentially dangerous for his health.
  2. Every pick doesn't count, that's the point. Let's say we hit on a LB, OG, and WR. Then McCarron turns out to be a Matt Cassel type QB? Now what are you going to do? I wouldn't presume we're going to or need to give up 4 picks. Even if we did and we hit on QB, it's worth more than hitting on 3, 4 or 5 other picks. It's that important, you have to know that.
  3. No whammies, no whammies, no whammies, stop! Oh crap
  4. Exactly. The bunch that just say fill holes and don't reach for a QB, just don't seem to realize other positions bust consistently.
  5. Take the chance man, take the chance.
  6. You do realize other drafted positions besides QB don't play well in the NFL, right? Why don't you tell me what happens when the "issues" you suggest to fix with draftees don't play well?
  7. Yet we played excellent defense last year and got better in the off season, IMO. Wait until you see the difference with a defensive tackle next to Kyle. Philly's defense was not built. In 2015 under Chip Kelly they got dominated by their opponents stats wise - ranked 30th in yds allowed and 28th in points allowed. They fired Kelly, hired Pederson who hired Schwartz, drafted a rookie QB - the following year they're in the super bowl. You are incorrect. Still managed to win after giving up all those "critical picks" to get Wentz. Building through the draft is only a small portion of building a team and the most important is finding a QB in the draft. Find the right QB and the right Head Coach and that's the majority of what you need.
  8. 2 of our seconds for 2 firsts next year, huh? Wow, shouldn't be a problem. Why not trade two of our 3rds for another first next year and we'll have 4? 1, 2, 3, 4, I love to count.
  9. This opinion is such bunk. You don't know what the holes are until you have a viable QB. Then you hear the "QB doesn't fix everything" argument. No they don't but its those extra few minutes of possession time, those two extra field goals, those few extra first downs, even when you punt it's pushing the opposing offense a little further back - that make the difference. It changes how the team looks and plays. This team isn't going to the playoffs with a LB and WR 2-3 straight years anyway so get a damn QB. Of course it's not that easy to just say get a QB but you have to try. It could be a very very long time before we have the draft picks to allow us to try like this. The only reason to not draft a QB is if the one or two you want are gone and you can't find a trade partner, then I'd agree. The crazier reason, which is nuts, is to fill holes, suck, then draft one next year.
  10. Because he doesn't hear it the same way we do. He's a guy that says something like this - his advisors go, why the heck would you say that and he'd replay; what? I know they're not exactly the same but I see some of this in Mayfield. I think he's the kind of guy that if he starts out bad and the media lays it on him will go off the rails. He's got fire no doubt but it's too much, imo. I think he has the potential to be an explosive personality. I understand shorter QB's feel slighted so they play with an extra edge. Sometimes that edge isn't always channeled correctly and turns you into a nut.
  11. You got me Kirby, damn you. Great work!
  12. Look how correctly Trent Murphy tackles. His technique is really good especially when he decides to attack the lower body of the offensive player.
  13. Smart of them to get this out there - even though all the teams are doing it. They know they're in danger of not getting who they want - so maybe see if a team above them will reach. The second is to see if a team below them will trade up with them.
  14. It's a good question but it can be defined in many ways. Matt Ryan has been a franchise QB and so has Tom Brady. See my point?
  15. You don't have to agree with Kiper to think there's a real possibility the Brown, Giants, Jets and Broncos take QB's.
  16. I can't understand how some of you can reply to this. It's literally the same exact topic. This thread is a post not a thread.
  17. Patriots for the vet minimum obviously.
