  1. It was as if Ian Rapoport performed CPR on the CoT, and for one brief moment, there was a faint heartbeat. And just as it looked like the patient was going to make it, Beane showed up in the ambulance and ran them over. Ahhh, the offseason.
  2. Do the Browns have a charity we can donate money to?
  3. God Bless the Cleveland Browns.
  4. We didn't trade the career of Sammy Watkins for a 2nd round pick, we traded 1 year of Sammy Watkins for a 2nd round pick. It's amazing how many fans still don't understand this. And if we do draft a WR with that 2nd round pick, we'll have him under contract for 4 years at an incredibly cheap price. Big difference.
  5. It really wasn't even a debate 7 months ago.
  6. Snead was really painted into a corner. His agent wasn't going to come to the table based on last year's production, and you can't give him $16M gtd just to save face.
  7. Absolutely. But the good teams already have their QB. That's why we consider them the good teams.
  8. He started to look like his young self last year after that back surgery. Not happy to see him in the division.
  9. Anything under 15 yards can be a spot foul, that's not an issue. If your WR is getting interfered with 47 yards downfield, then he likely wasn't open in the first place. It bears repeating, if your WR truly has the DB beat on a deep route, and the pass is accurate, there is nothing the DB can do about it. He can't tackle him. He can't even touch him. And if he can, then either a) the WR didn't get separation or b) the pass was poorly underthrown -- and in either case the offense doesn't deserve to get 50+yds of offense on a flag. That's the cheesiest play in football, and it's happening more often every year.
  10. I would love this change, and it's been long overdue. If you truly have your man beat deep, and the pass is accurate, there is nothing a DB can do to stop it. Over the past 20 years it's devolved into: Gain 1 foot of separation, crappy QB underthrows pass, WR acts like he's been raped, flag, 50+ yds of offense, outcome of game is changed. That's not football.
  11. I think it's a solid signing, and at his age, the term of the deal is an extremely astute move. Too often I see teams get desperate for CB help and get railroaded into a long-term deal, only to wind up paying big CB money to a guy they have to convert to safety as he ages. I wouldn't run out and buy his jersey - he's not likely here for the long haul...
  12. There's going to be a lot of tears this offseason.
  13. How about we shed underperforming players with overpriced contracts, avoid expensive free agents that rarely live up to their cost, move on from aging and oft-injured players, and accumulate draft picks year in and year out and build a team around them? Oh wait, that's what we're doing...
  14. The more FA QBs, the better.
  15. Fans are greatly overestimating the market for a 30yr old RB with a $9M cap hit.
  16. This is really going to make our trade for him difficult.
  17. This is correct, it was a mistake.
  18. Eli/OBJ Dirty Dancing was brilliant.
  19. I love how you question the front office for not appropriately assessing Wood's risk and in the same post you criticize them for shipping Dareus and Watkins out. You don't understand how incredibly stupid that sounds, do you?
  20. Yes. If you don't get it after watching this team for the past 2 decades, you never will.
