PFF: Ranking the NFL QBs on 3-Step Concepts
QCity replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You should see his rating when he's rolling to his right, against a 4-man front, up by 6 or more points, against AFC teams, when the temperature is above 60 degrees. We've found our guy. -
It tells you absolutely nothing. Every current Bills player is on a team that's slotted for a playoff spot.
-
My theory is similar - that they were so completely dominated that by the 3rd quarter they were just playing not to get injured. I see a few fans comparing this to the "Ajayi game," but it really reminded me of that 50 - whatever beatdown that Seattle unleashed on us back in Toronto. That day the defense was helpless to stop them and basically quit in the 2nd half while Seattle racked up something like 280 yards rushing in that massacre (and yes, Dareus was playing that day).

Raiders Break Ground on Las Vegas Stadium
QCity replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's Vegas, the town was built for Superbowls. -
It would have made a difference, but not as much as fans think. They would have still ran for 200+ with him in a Bills uniform. The issue last Sunday wasn't with one person. His absence is just a convenient excuse at this point.
-
How many yards rushing did Oakland put up on us without Dareus? 53? Do you know that Dareus was only playing around ~25 snaps a game? If this was 2014 Dareus, you would have a great argument, but he wasn't playing anywhere close to that. Do you think Dareus would have stopped the Saints running attack when he was standing on the sidelines for 70% of the snaps, exactly like he was during that 4-2 start?

Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread
QCity replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We got a 20% playoff chance if we go 8-8. The craptastic AFC just may be our best friend this year. -
Every Nate Peterman throw from the Saints game
QCity replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Starting Peterman on the road against the Chargers' pass rush probably isn't the best idea, and Arrowhead is even worse. Matching up a rookie with zero starts against Belichick would be cruel and unusual punishment. If things keep trending downward, the logical game would be the Dec 10 home game against the Colts. -
Tyrod 9/17 for 53 yards through 3 quarters. FRANCHISE QB!
QCity replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm amused by the fact that after a 56 yd passing performance fans want to ponder the philosophical question "Yeah, but what really is a franchise QB?" -
Not only has the CoT disbanded, but its members are denying ever having any association with it. 56 yards passing will do that. Or do passing yards still not matter? Good stuff. TBD has become more entertaining than the actual games.

Every Nate Peterman throw from the Saints game

It's refreshing to see a receiver come out of his break and the ball is already there. -

Taylor playing safe, conservative, small-ball down 3+ scores was pretty silly. -
Kelvin Benjamin's agent must be livid.

Don't worry guys he's got a good QB rating for the season. -
Right. Missing Dareus is the reason we lost.

What, no comp pick discussion--it's week 10.
QCity replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We could have signed those bodies after the compensatory period ended on May 9th and kept our draft picks. Would we have gotten players of equal caliber to Ducasse, Holmes, and Davis? Probably not. Would we have gotten players that bring 85% of what they bring? Almost certainly, and we'd retain our picks. It's mismanagement, plain and simple. These types of moves were the hallmark of the Whaley regime. In most situations smart teams don't trade away high draft picks for rotational and depth players -- they wait until the compensatory period ends. It's really, really easy to downplay the importance of draft picks by citing stats like "only 10% of 4th round picks turn out to be starters." Keep this in mind -- Kelvin Benjamin is here because of a 3rd round pick. The third round pick is a third round pick. And no, teams aren't shooting for "decent" rotational or depth players. -

These moves should have never been made in the offseason, unfortunately we still had the wrong GM in place at the time. Sacrificing 3rd and 4th round picks for temporary depth is a complete blunder (players like Ducasse are not part of the future of this team). You could maybe cut 1 of those players at this point, but cutting 3 or 4 right now probably wouldn't sit too well in the locker room, and it sends the wrong message ("play hard and still get cut"). I'd love to see it done, but that seems like a pipe-dream at this point. -
Bennett cut (update: claimed by Pats*)
QCity replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's done, was already talking about retiring after the season. The timing here is no accident, the Pack will wind up getting a 4th rd comp pick back bringing their total up to 5. -
Right now the correct term is "overdrafted." If he doesn't develop though.... What a great opportunity to test the new board's archives. Let's see what TBD was saying on draft day. RD 1, Pick 19: DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson University

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Good Gets Bad, Bad Gets Good
QCity replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Halfway through the 4th quarter we had 7 points on the board. By my count there were about 5 three-and-outs. He looked like he was filming an instructional video on How To Get Sacked. Sorry, but the quarterback is certainly complicit in that mess. The blocking up front was terrible but TT wasn't doing them any favors. They brought 5 all night and he didn't have an answer. -
I think you've had enough bears.

Why is Bills offense so dreadful on the road??
QCity replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You gotta be kidding. These attempts at propping up the Jets in order to make that loss look better really are amusing. I'd wager that 99% of this forum couldn't name the starters on their front 7 without Googling it -- and we just played them 2 days ago. Davis has been a JAG LB throughout his 6-yr career. Darron Lee has been a massive disappointment and there were rumors he would be benched after week 2 this year. Their DL has something like 3 sacks combined 9 games into the season. Wilkerson is the only player of note in that front 7 and even he has been slowing down (of course, we made him look like JJ Watt last night). If anything the bright spots for them are the rookies Maye and Adams in the secondary.
