  1. I would love this change, and it's been long overdue. If you truly have your man beat deep, and the pass is accurate, there is nothing a DB can do to stop it. Over the past 20 years it's devolved into: Gain 1 foot of separation, crappy QB underthrows pass, WR acts like he's been raped, flag, 50+ yds of offense, outcome of game is changed. That's not football.
  2. I think it's a solid signing, and at his age, the term of the deal is an extremely astute move. Too often I see teams get desperate for CB help and get railroaded into a long-term deal, only to wind up paying big CB money to a guy they have to convert to safety as he ages. I wouldn't run out and buy his jersey - he's not likely here for the long haul...
  3. There's going to be a lot of tears this offseason.
  4. How about we shed underperforming players with overpriced contracts, avoid expensive free agents that rarely live up to their cost, move on from aging and oft-injured players, and accumulate draft picks year in and year out and build a team around them? Oh wait, that's what we're doing...
  5. The more FA QBs, the better.
  6. Fans are greatly overestimating the market for a 30yr old RB with a $9M cap hit.
  7. This is really going to make our trade for him difficult.
  8. This is correct, it was a mistake.
  9. Eli/OBJ Dirty Dancing was brilliant.
  10. I love how you question the front office for not appropriately assessing Wood's risk and in the same post you criticize them for shipping Dareus and Watkins out. You don't understand how incredibly stupid that sounds, do you?
  11. Yes. If you don't get it after watching this team for the past 2 decades, you never will.
  12. He's an arrogant pr&*k, but he made the right move when he left.
  13. In 10 months he will be the most hated man in town. That's the life of a OC.
  14. He doesn't even play 50% of the snaps. He's a 2-down LB on a rotation. It was a great move shipping him out. You don't get faster after blowing out your knee. Moving Lawson isn't creating a hole, he is the hole. If anyone wants to know why our pass rush is so anemic, the first place they should look is the DE position. If Shaq was a 5th round pick there would be daily threads on how the front office failed to address the DE position, and how we now have to use a 1st on a pass rusher. But because he's a 1st round pick we have to cling to him? I don't know what you see when you watch him play, but I don't see a quick first step, I don't see much explosiveness, and I sure as hell don't see his side of the pocket collapsing on passing downs. It's not like he's drawing double teams, either.
  15. "We didn't just interview him to fulfill the Rooney Rule. Seriously guys, we didn't. We were very close to hiring him. Honest."
  16. What about Peyton Manning? And what's Farve been up to?
  17. Good hire, would fit well there.
  18. What about his QBR though?
  19. I like a good defensive battle, but that game was just a case of "let's stack 8-9 men in the box because both these QBs are inept and can't beat us with their arm." If every NFL game was like this the league would go belly-up.
  20. I think those with tempered expectations for next year are correct. The rebuild is still in its infancy and doesn't really begin until the 2018 draft. In fact, there are still major pieces on this roster that will likely be shed.
  21. He's in the conversation. The fans crying over the Gaines trade was just over the top. You would have thought we just traded Andre Reed in his prime.
