  1. He's 35 in July and wasn't part of the future of this team.
  2. Goal isn't to get to the playoffs.
  3. I'm expecting something like "The Bills have just traded with the Browns to get Tyrod Taylor back..."
  4. Nonsense. This accounting decision had very little to do with the playoff drought.
  5. Right. Let's spend a ridiculous amount of capital for 1-year of control over ODB when we don't have a proven QB under center. Some of the draft takes this offseason are just laughably terrible.
  6. We're going to see goal line formations where RBs lower their head and drive into the endzone, only to get it called back and assessed a 15-yd penalty? Can't wait for the first game to be decided on that call.
  7. They wouldn't. Making up outrageous things is a great way to get attention.
  8. The goal isn't making the playoffs, it's winning a title. You need a QB for that. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. The teams that are contenders year in and year out are those that have a QB.
  9. We've only been trying to win with another team's backup for a decade now, let's give it another 10 years to be sure it doesn't work.
  10. Whaley didn't build that defense, but he sure as hell wasted it.
  11. An indictment from the DA is a money grab?
  12. If he would have drafted Russell Wilson he might still be GM. But he didn't. Another guy that's basically a decent scout but has no business in the GM position.
  13. We've had a QB throw for 30 TDs once in our franchise history. I think fans would be OK with him.
  14. His salary would be paid by the new team unless there are some added stipulations. The amounts left on his prorated signing bonus ($2.8M) and his option bonus ($3M) would be immediately realized for a 2018 dead cap hit of $5.8M. However, it's still less than his current 2018 cap hit of $10.4M, so it would actually free up about ~$4.5M this year and have no future impact on the team. The Giants just did this with JPP, and they took a massive $15M dead cap hit this year but actually gained a few million in cap space. They did it to free up space for the future, presumably to deal with the looming OBJ contract. It really wouldn't make any sense for the Giants to take that hit and then take on Hughes salary.
  15. Not the craziest thing I've heard today. He's got a $10M cap hit and can disappear for months during the season.
  16. Yes. The $2.5B valuation is pretty much spot-on, as was the $1.3B price for the Bills.
  17. My money's on salvia.
  18. Nailed that pick.
  19. The big question is if Murhpy's breakout 9-sack year was the product of PED use or not. Even if it was, they left themselves an out after one year with minimal future damage, which makes the contract reasonable.
  20. So a "hit" at the QB position is weighed the same as a "hit" that's a kicker? You've put in a lot of work here but I'm afraid it means very little. Any analysis that ranks Russ Brandon over Bill Polian is likely flawed.
  21. They beat the Jaguars and Browns by 3 points. If they lose those two games they get the 3rd pick. All that draft capital lost for two meaningless wins against the Jags and Browns. I'm not advocating a tank, I just found this amusing.
  22. If you're Gettleman, you have be aware that this is probably the best chance you're going to get to draft a QB during your tenure. He's not going to get a better shot than this. If they're drafting top 5 again in 2020 he's probably out of a job, and Eli isn't exactly a spring chicken. Grooming a young QB under Manning is a pretty nice setup as well. He's in a very nice situation here.
  23. Seriously. Overt trolling should result in a vacation.
