  1. Parcells was different he had like 4 rules for drafting a QB (must have started 3 years, won so many games, etc). That 26-27-60 rule was made up by an SI reporter (https://www.si.com/more-sports/2010/07/08/qb-rule) and as far as I can tell he picked 60% because it was round. Higher completion % is obviously better but I don't see any statistical significance with that number. Allen's comp % is 4.7% less than Rosen's but people are acting like he can't hit the side of a barn.
  2. People have used 60% solely because it's a round number.
  3. First of all, the last person in the position wasn't qualified. He was a failed GM that was allowed to hang around in the hallway because our aging owner didn't have the vigor for the full front office rebuild that was so needed at the time. Is Kim one of the top 20 people qualified for the position? No. Will she flourish in the position? My guess is she will. The amount of success she has at this job will be inversely proportional to the amount of meddling she does in football operations. If she sticks to facilities improvements, amenities, ticket sales, fan interaction, training camp, etc, etc, and keeps at distance from football ops (as much as a partial owner can) then this will be a home run. Would you rather have some Ralph Wilson retread that's been in that front office for the past 17 years get this job? This has been a great week for both Buffalo teams.
  4. Josh Allen is Russ Brandon's secret illegitimate son. This confirms it.
  5. What a truly incredible week for Buffalo sports!!! Someone get the tissues for the Brandonites.
  6. Wait a minute, someone on these forums watched the actual games? That's not how scouting works. You're supposed to scour the internet for as many mock drafts and blogs you can find. Then aggregate the echo chamber's general opinion about the player and take a black or white hardline stance.
  7. Did you expect the GM to immediately announce that his 1st round pick was benched for the 1st season?
  8. What? If they drafted a QB that's an All-Pro then it's one of the most successful drafts in franchise history, regardless of what happens to the other picks. I think maybe you're confusing All-Pro with Pro Bowl. I'll give them a B+. We got one of the top-4 QB's and a top LB without burning next year's 1st round pick. I didn't think they could pull that off entering the draft.
  9. Here's a better version:
  10. O-Linemen are always the most fun to draft. They immediately get labelled as "road graders" and penciled-in as starting for the next decade.
  11. You knew they weren't conservative when they moved on from TT. This isn't a front office that is just trying to keep their jobs by building playoff pretenders, even though that seems to be the bar for success with this fanbase.
  12. He's great for satisfying the Rooney Rule.
  13. Some of the tantrums have been pretty good but I expected more actually.
  14. 95+% of these posters have never watched him in a game. They read a few draft breakdowns, and then went on Youtube and watched some highlight reels. True experts indeed. The kid's complete percentage is 4.7% off from Rosen's and they are acting like he can't hit the side of a barn.
  15. This team was always being built for the future (2019-2020) and that was clearly evident from last offseason.
  16. What's the title of this book? Trade Breakdowns For Dummies?
  17. I watched a lot of his games and was always impressed with this kid.
  18. Highest ceiling.
  19. Your analysis also doesn't give any weight to positions. Who's the better GM, the guy who drafts 4 Pro Bowl players at FB, S, P, K or the GM who drafts 2 Pro Bowl players at QB and DE? It's well researched and presented nicely, but ultimately it means very little.
  20. The Pro Bowl pool has become quite diluted in recent years. There are players who deliberately pass on going just to create another possibility that a friend (who's in a contract year) might get that selection.
  21. Yup, he was on track for $40-$50M guaranteed. Now it sounds like he's trying to kill himself.
