  1. He should be brought in for a look. It's a bit odd that Tenn cut him on that cheap contract though. He probably was never going to beat out Kline at LG, but not even earning a backup spot is strange. The guy's a Mormon so off the field issues are unlikely.
  2. A lot of fans only picture the best-case scenario in these trades. It's easy to like the trade if you imagine getting an All-Pro every year for the next 6 years or someone who will get 15 sacks a year for the next 5 years (suggested in this thread). But that's not realistic at all. His production will fade as he ages. If you want to weigh the scenario appropriately, then at least consider the worst-case along with the best-case. What if he blows out his knee or pops an Achilles and never returns to form? Congrats! You just sabotaged your franchise for the next half-decade. Chicago fans will be celebrating Mack this season for sure, but get back to me in 3 years and we'll see how they feel then. These moves typically don't work out in the long run, and they aren't getting any major reinforcements via the draft in the next two years....
  3. I'd say he knows exactly what he's doing. Some of the fans, however...
  4. The real story here is the beginning trend of GM's ripping up rookie contracts. That's the second one Snead has torn up this year.
  5. Then you clicked on something very, very wrong. I'm not going to post any guides, I'm simply making people aware of Reddit -- a social news aggregation site which is the 6th largest site in the world.
  6. *cough*...google....*cough*....reddit nfl streams...*cough*
  7. If you are not a fan and don't follow the team closely, you see a 1st round QB that they traded up for, Cincy's backup, and a guy who threw 5 INTs at the QB position. It's not even a competition in most people's minds, and that number reflects that.
  8. TBD is much more entertaining with these two writing columns.
  9. "Our studies show that we actually have a ramped-up injury situation with players during preseason as opposed to the injury factor in the regular season." So if player safety is truly the main concern, then why not eliminate 2 preseason games and stick with the 16 game schedule? Because none of this is about player safety, it's about money.
  10. There was never anything quiet about it. It was clearly evident from the start the team was being re-built. There's just a lot of fans that live in a different reality.
  11. I've been around here long enough to know that if Dalton doesn't complete that pass there would have been threads calling for the firing of McD, Beane, the whole front office, and probably even one demanding that Pegula sell the team. That's not hyperbole. I think it will be very interesting to see how the coaching staff is perceived after this year.
  12. Hah I remember those threads vividly. The argument was, "Why not draft a guard top 10? You now have an All-Pro at that position for the next 10 years." Ahhh, it's that simple, huh?
  13. That was a fantastic pass, he did a great job of looking the safety off. If Allen made that throw we would have a thread dedicated to that play. Did you just lump Montana and Brees together with Pennington? Adequate??
  14. 1) His cap hit is only $1.5M 2) His contract is fully guaranteed anyway 3) Rodak doesn't know what he's talking about here
  15. This. He's not part of the future of this team and he's on a 1-year band-aid contract. Getting beat by a guy that runs a 4.22 40 isn't shocking.
  16. The bigger question is if he'll be in concussion protocol after today.
  17. ‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens
  18. That's really not the situation at all. He's not 23 yrs old and we're not getting 5 years of control over him on a rookie deal. The question is how much do you give up for a DPOY that, when he's 28 yrs old next year, is going to want a $125M+ contract with $80M+ guaranteed. That certainly muddies the water a bit.
  19. I can't believe I watched Tyrod play QB for 3 entire seasons. This game is giving me PTSD.
  20. He's an astute analyst and that assessment is fair, even though it won't go over well here.
  21. Props to whoever edited these all together, what an undertaking.
  22. It's an annual tradition to believe that what we see in the preseason will translate to the regular season. Fans fall for it every year, I think it's a condition that arises from not watching football for 8 months.
