  1. The Chiefs of recent years are probably the best analogue. They showcase a defense that isn't exactly loaded with star talent, but rather focuses on scheme and execution (they run a lot more dime and nickel than a typical 3-4). They run a low-risk offense that's based around the run where the priority is not making mistakes and not turning the ball over. That's what we've seen so far from our team this year.
  2. I think you need certification first.

  4. But you are saying that. If you are going to judge Tyrod as a passer based on his QB rating then you have to be prepared to say that he's a better passer than Jim Kelly or Dan Marino (TT's career QB rating is better than both!) Remember the "No Punt" game back in 1992 against the 49ers? Kelly threw for over 400 yards and 3 TDs. He also had a 126 QB rating that game. Would anyone argue that TT had a better passing performance yesterday? I would hope not. But through the lens of QB ratings those two games are equal. See how silly this gets?
  5. I thought it was obvious -- to highlight the folly of trying to represent a QB's play with a single number. TT had a very good game yesterday.
  6. Well I'm sold. He's clearly a better passer than Dan Marino.
  7. "Execution over athleticism" is a good way to describe it. This doesn't mean we don't want playmakers, it simply means the primary focus is on execution.
  8. Based on what? His 3.5 YPC or his 1 fumble every 14 carries? Just stop.
  9. Pretty much every person crying about tanking this season. Let's just thank God Denver didn't unleash Jonathan Williams on us. Such talent we got rid of!
  10. Boy, one game really triggered Watkins' Whiners.
  11. Matthews' agent had to be fuming when the trade went down. It's going to knock a few mil off his next deal.
  12. Ansah looks healthy this year.
  13. “The idea was to make Prescott beat us because we knew he couldn’t.” —Denver defensive end Derek Wolfe to Mike Klis of KUSA-TV, after Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott struggled in a 42-17 Broncos’ win Sunday.
  14. Is it possible to be out of a game when the other team scores 9 points?
  15. You forgot about Jonathan Williams. At least 4-0 right now. At least.
  16. Getting him to make it through this season at 29 is iffy. I think a fairly large portion of the fanbase understands that he's not part of our future, but that's not going to stop a massive freak-out next March.
  17. I think he still has injury issues affecting him. He lost his Pro Bowl center hours before the game, his security blanket Olsen during the game, was sacked 6 times and under pressure quite often, and still played a decent game. I don't think their D is that good, and certainly not elite. They have good numbers through 2 weeks because they played us and the 49ers. Let's see how they fare against the Saints and Pats in the next 2 weeks.
  18. Tough day for the CoT.
  19. Time out management was terrible. The TO taken outside of 2 min after he let ~30 sec run off the clock was brutal.
  20. I've seen this play hundreds of times (and that's not hyperbole). If you watch football weekly, you've probably seen the result of it hundreds of times too (perhaps unknowingly). Every offense has this play (or some variant) in their playbook. If you are getting caught up on ball placement it's a case of not seeing the forest for the trees. Tyrod has to force the DB to commit and he has to go to the receiver in single coverage. He doesn't do either. He glaces at Jones for a fraction of a second and stares down Clay the entire time. He makes it easy for the extra DB to break on his throw resulting in a pass into double coverage. I was going to post two more videos showing what this play looks like when executed properly with the DB led -- one pass to the receiver running out and the other to the receiver breaking in. There really is no point however, it's clear people are going to see what they want to see in this case. If their narrative is the QB did everything properly, any further explanation would be time wasted. Don't worry though, it's a certainty we'll see this play again soon, probably to the right side next time.
  21. I think it's more about the perceived "quality" of the writing than it is the money. A substantial vocal portion of the fanbase takes any criticism of the team almost as if it were an attack on their family. They don't want accurate reporting, they want to be told how great this team is going to be every year.
  22. Here's another still for you. TT hasn't released the ball yet and the DB is already committed to the TE. Zay Jones has just started to streak across the back of the endzone. This is not a difficult play -- in fact it's considered QB 101. You look off the defender by staring down the TE and toss a gimmie TD over the middle. There's no possible way for that defender to cover the WR if executed properly. Of course, TT stares down the TE and then throws high and slightly behind him (when the ball should have been thrown low in a place that Clay and only Clay could possibly catch it). This is why people criticize TT for not being an anticipatory passer. Again, this is basic stuff here and with that protection every QB in the league should be able to connect on this. Maybe next time you should try putting down the pom-pom's before watching tape.
  23. Link All the arguing about the Clay pass, meanwhile Zay Jones is wide open in the back of the endzone for an easy 6.
  24. Ahh, yeah you're right. It's 1.13 per game last year.
