  1. So yes there is a difference but if you want to get better you play & practice against the best & something other than your own to get a different better to go against . I don't think that it will be a balls out practice like game day & the hits on each others QB's will be limited as they are in practice , but Fred of all people to not be in the swing of getting better ? Must have had a bad couple of days ...
  2. It's all about EJ if he comes out & shows inconsistency , bad reads & accuracy problems as we have seen then it will be a tight game but if he can prove that he is the guy those that made him a first round pick thought he could be then the game is a Bills win no problem because our D is gonna show up !!
  3. Agree'd Sometimes the past Bills leaders were more like the blind leading the blind ! Hopefully Whaley will be the new era to the Bills changing things around ! I just hope if he doesn't see all that it takes from EJ to put our team where it needs to be he's not afraid to pull the trigger . But if laying back & putting all your eggs in EJ's basket this year with all of the talent that was in this draft at the QB position (compared to EJ's draft class) & not picking up a insurance policy like the Redskins did i just hope DJ see's what he needs to see in EJ ...
  4. Marrone a O line guru HA ! The proof is in the puddin What did the O line look like when Joe D was here & what did San Diego's line do last year with Joe D as the line coach ? Then ask the same about the Bills line pre Marrone & post Marrone , sure we were second in rushing last year I'll give him that but i don't think it was because of his scheme i think it was more the RB's being top notch !! But as you said time will tell . I think these scrimmages are more needed for EJ to learn what it's all about to be a NFL QB because well you know i don't have to say anything you can read my thoughts every where when ever the media talks about our offensive out put ...
  5. This was determined before the game , Marrone & company probably decided this even before the first preseason game . Old News !!
  6. This season has a ton to do with a answer to the question . I thought that given the experience of the coaches that were available last year it was a wrong pick . That being said i like Marrones attitude . When you think of a coach like Lovey Smith actually saying he would like the job in B/Lo & then having Marc Trestmen with 2 championships under his belt & you take a college coach with a mediocre record at best . Here's that dog tilt your head look ... I think Whaley is a good pick for GM with what he has changed in the scouting department & all i think his hire will pay dividends , Hackett on the other hand ahh i don't think ! If Marrone would have looked at what was here as far as coaches & kept the good & changed the bad instead of hiring buddies or homers i would have thought more of his hire . Then there was the explanation that Brandon , Whaley & Buddy did a extensive & Exhaustive search for a HC after it only taking at most 2 weeks i thought they were blowing smoke & just went through the motions & already had their pick before the process started ... But now we got him & time will tell … GO BILLS !!
  7. I agree that it would be stupid totally stupid move by the Bills & i hope the new GM is smarter than who ever pulled the last boner in a players contract year meaning the Fitz factor . If the GM & FO are still thinking in the same mode as the old did then a trade of one of if not the most explosive player in the league will not be real surprising . If they do wind up doing something this wild i would hope it would be really wild & trade for a QB that would put us in the play offs IF it is going to be that extreme because if it is for a draft pick any less than a number one it will be ignorant !!
  8. The guy is a ego'd out freak ! Seen his power hungry attitude first hand doing shows at Jerry's world ! More than likely since guys like our own Ralph Wilson & or Lamar Hunt are no longer around these type guys (Jerry Jones & Jim Irsay) will be the new face of todays NFL ... These are also the type that have no regard for heritage of the NFL in truth they only have regard for greed that will ultimately ruin the game we all love to watch . Personal opinion only ... If Jerry would have his way our Bills would be in either of 2 places to generate more cash truth or fiction ? Toronto or LA then there would be more money for Jerry & others to keep partying with !!! I hope both Irsay & Jones get hefty action from the NFL ! If you lead by example how can we wonder why so many athletes are always getting into trouble ???
  9. I think every thing in life that you succeed at takes a lot of change, devotion & a dream with a lot of ambition behind it to become the best you can be & it's the same with the city of Buffalo the home of our great Buffalo Bills . Not just the city but the entire state has been in a economic funk for years that was why i left in 1985 the economy sucked & i needed to provide other than welfare for my family so C YA ! But even though i live & work else where Western NY will ALWAYS BE HOME !! But in order for Buffalo to change the region needs to get out of the comfort zone of "Well this is the way it is so we'll just go along & not try to change " mentality . Buffalo was once one of the best little cities in the country & could be again but it's going to take these kind of idea's & forward thinking to change the landscape of thought that surround Western NY . For one instead of dumping every last penny the folks of WNY pay in taxes to sum S**T like the new Tapenzee Bridge (which no one wanted or needed) or new stadiums or arena's in the city of ill repute NYC (Barkley Center, Yankee Stadium, Met's Stadium) spend some of that cash back over here in good ole WNY !! Especially seeing as the Bills are the only true NFL NY franchise come on throw us a bone !! I think this plan although it is very labor intense , if the powers that be & those that are stuck in the backwards thinking of (were doing fine the way we are) , could see going forward with something like this it would change the entire economic out look of the Buffalo landscape for ears to come . Of coarse it will have it's risk factor but what change doesn't ? We know how the story has been for the past 40 years i hope they write a new one for the future of not only the city of Buffalo but Buffalo's team !! GO BILLS !!!!
  10. I couldn't believe what i was reading when the truth finally came into view . Like a lot of us that want instant gratification now days (especially when it comes to our Bills) this didn't even come into my thought pattern . But like a great movie until you get close to the end & it all comes into view ... We are all on the criticism wagon when it comes to our "Franchise QB" but this kind of gave me a little bit different sight line (& hope) to what is going on . I never realized looking back now how the great Bills teams came to be & the growing pains that the team & we as fans endured before the K Gun came to town . So maybe there is still hope & our staff sees something that all of us impatient Bills fans don't right now , at least let's hope thats he fact of the matter !! WOW !! Enjoy !! http://billsmafia.com/2014/08/05/the-buffalo-bills-quarterback-who-failed-to-deliver-year-one/
  11. No i wouldn't trade to get him back now but after who evers blunder it was to allow him to get that contract they should have kept him around to at least get something for the money . He could have been a mentor to EJ or Tuel but the actions of this front office over the last 3 seasons when it comes to QB's has been worse than a train wreck !! First they pull the trigger on a contract for Fitz after 5 games he won even with all of his past in front of their eyes , then after he signs & blows they want him to take a cut he says no so they cut him ?? Only to pay him for the next 2 seasons & then there was the T Jack thing trade for the dude , lose a draft pick & never let him see the field only to resign him then cut him ?? Man you talk about ignorants !! And we wonder why even one looks at us and laughs , you can bet Pollian would have never pulled this crap !!
  12. Winners or smart teams such as the Pats pick up good players weather they already have some on their team or not & they do it more with QB's because you can develop them & trade them for more picks . They have been stashing Mallet letting him learn under the best until some one better that they couldn't pass on cause of his place in the draft (Garapollo) came along , now they can trade him to a team & get more picks . Seeing as the Bills have first dibs on seeing this happen every year & have been having our asses handed to us for the last ten by the Pats you would think seeing as the NFL is a copy cat league or so they say, you would think if the Bills would pay attention they might learn something ... But we most generally go about things (as my dad use to say) bass akwards !! We take a second round QB in a year that the QB class is not at all very good & not only pass on a guy that the coach knows better than any other QB in the draft but trade a pick & jump up in the first round to grab a second round QB ... Then when the next years draft comes around despite all the negatives that were pointed out by numerous football experts we pass on at least 2 very good QB prospects in the late rounds of the draft as a back up plan or at least good competition because they don't want to hurt the development or what ever of the second round guy that we got in the first round ??? K DEN --- GO BILLS !!!
  13. That was every one of the experts thoughts in college don't know what the Bills saw in him . Sure he is a great kid but that doesn't transfer to wins . What i really didn't get & still don't is why no solid back up plan ? What should have happened is they should have kept Fitz , they are paying him any way Let EJ sit a year & Fitz teach him how to read the opponents D . You have to give it to Fitz for his smarts . Sure we got a young guy but the same out come so what has changed besides the age of the guy behind the center ? Probably with this stable of WR's Fitz could have looked better & EJ could have been brought along like they use to do it in years past in the NFL . The upside they wouldn't be paying on a dead horse ...
  14. C J is the ultimate team player if he asks to be traded i think it will be because he believes he's not being used enough or correctly . If he is healthy he can be one of the best backs in the league & for one i think the Bills would be foolish to let him go unless he is developing a relationship with Byrds agent . But i would think if CJ puts up better numbers this year than he did in 2012 he should be paid . The other thing is maybe he sees that Hackett is as much of a rookie coach as some of the players & doesn't want to stick around to see if the experiment works , which i would say i can't say as i would blame him . He is ultimately a winner & if the coaching staff can get their head & A** wired together they have the talent on the field it's just knowing what to do with it & how to use it .
  15. Only until Garopallo has a year under his belt then Mallet will be trade bait for them to do what they do grab up a couple of more draft picks , thats the Patriot way ...
  16. They had one the other night at practice after the rain delay , not exactly sure who it was but it was a good one for as long as it lasted . I think it was number 67 that was doing the swinging ??
  17. So the bidding has started from those who care to buy our beloved Buffalo Bills . I went to my first Bills training camp the other day at St. John fisher & it was great to see the Bills hard at work , trying to do all they can to end their play off drought . When i got back to my hotel room i did some reading about those that want to buy the team & was wondering just what Mary would do if the high bid came in from the Toronto group led by the now villain Jon Bon Jovi ? With Mary knowing that Ralph's love for his team & him wanting to keep the Bills in Buffalo do you think that Mary would take less money to do so ? Say if knowing that Terry Pegula is a man after Ralph's vision of the Bills staying in Buffalo & say the Toronto groups bid is $500 K to $1 Mill more than Pegula's or let's say Golisano's even , because those 2 men would keep the Bills in Buffalo do you think Mary knowing her late husbands love for the team & all he has done for the city through the team , would she take a bit less to keep them where they belong ? I think with the connection that Mary her self has with western NY & with the legacy that her late husband has left on the region , i believe that she would take less to keep her husbands team in the only city it has ever known !! Or do we know is the final say even hers ? Or did Ralph leave specific directions for the club to be sold to the highest bidder so that the family didn't have any burden what so ever in the ale of the team ? What do you think ?
  18. Getting rid of CJ would show as much fore sight as paying Fitz his huge contract , as cutting him after said contract , as Hiring the least qualified HC out of 4 interviewed , as drafting a second round QB in the first round in a year where the QB talent was below average to say the least , as firing a top ST coordinator & O line coach after having both squads performing at the top of the league & hiring a ST's coordinator that was in the bottom of the league in his previous place of employment . But hopefully the new GM can see all the past happenings & has the moxy & the guts to change things here , let's hope so !! Unless of coarse Whaley brought in the guy from Philly to look to that future & can get a first round pick for CJ or trades CJ for a QB (only if EJ sucks it up this year) that can out do our current roster of QB's .
  19. Very reasonable considering we are still paying Fitz & he hasn't been here for 2 years it couldn't be any worse !!
  20. And if seeing what CJ looked like in his post practice interview you can tell the guy is just about over it ! He is the ultimate team guy , he came from a winning college program , but he see's the ineptness of some of the coaches & i think he could be the next Lynch pin pulled from Buffalo to go on & win a super bowl . Plus the fact that Whaley may see the need for a first round pick next year to cover his A** for a real NFL QB ...
  21. I think he gets one more chance & if he gets hurt again he's cut …
  22. Too if we would have kept Fitz we could have a t least got a teacher for EJ & got something out of the $59 mill that they gave him . After reading the article it sounds as though there was as much exhaustive research done on a future QB as there was in the HCing search . But i hope the HC is better than the QB pick & has the onions to realize when they made a mistake if EJ shows bad & moves forward . If all else fails they can call JP he's not working ...
  23. I thought it wasn't the greatest of picks but was glad that we got Kiko . The thing that really bums me out is that we are still paying Fitz 2 years after he was fired . Who's the dum ass on that one ? I think they should have kept Fitz to in some way help bring EJ along to get some thing for the rediculously STUPID, to quickly signed contract that who ever said yes to (& should have been fired for) allowed & then who ever made the other stupid decission to get rid of the guy ???? If those 2 decissions weren't the stupidist FO or coaching moves in Bills history i don't know what is !! But seeing as a team only goes as far as the QB & also seeing how the Bills fan base had completely given up on Tuel after One true NFL start & One relief job I was hoping that they would bring in Garopalo as back up insurance policy !! But thats just me ...
