  1. Okay you got me i checked it out & of the backs i mentioned which really surprised me Peyton had the highest average carries per game over his career around 20 Campbell was next around the 19 mark & OJ was 3rd with around 17 . As you said the others were more dependent on their counterparts to give them a breather i guess . Of all the top backs Barry is 1st with 26 per game Walter 2nd with 20, Emmit & J. Brown at 19 all of these are average of attempts to games played which if you went even farther there would be some seasons with a higher average per yr than others but this is over all or a guesstimate if you would call it that nothing official !
  2. The first Bills helmet TERRIBLE ! But the second one i like as it goes back to the days when the Bills were always in the play off hunt & a team to beat . Add in the 3 D piece & it gives a good look to the older red helmets of the 90's !! UH NO !! WTH is that ?? HTTN !!!
  3. I think TY is fast becoming one of my favorite Bills players ! I heard his interview on GMFB the other day & he seems to be the perfect Bills type player & his path resembles that of another fan favorite Fred Jackson . I just hope he can win a spot on the starting roster like Fred did & prove to all those that ever doubted him that he is the man when it comes to being a really good NFL player !!
  4. That's just more fuel for the fire this year to take a step up from last years ranking & also is just part of being the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL which all the national media believes us to be . Which i for one am glad because when our team is looked at as a contender they always seem to fall short but when given the part of the underdog they go above & beyond the call to prove those in the media wrong !! GO BILLS !!!
  5. I think Joseph will be another find like Millano & will complete the LBing corp to give the Bills what McD envisioned it as being & Frazier will implement those players into his system to get the most out of them I just hope being smaller players that they can last the riggers of a NFL season if they are as we have seen as physical & aggressive as they have been .
  6. The NFL landscape is ever changing into something some of us in ways wish could go back to a better place & time, but as we all know that will not happen because time marches on & if you don't conform to change you can be left behind in the wake that takes over & good or bad change still takes place ! I have recently heard on a interview on 1 Bills live from a new NFL HC/old Bills QB that he even believes that in todays new & improved NFL that given the change in thought about RB's being a dime a dozen & the running game becoming a after thought that a good running game is a essential part of being a winning team come the play offs . That new coach of which i speak is Frank Reich . I believe & have always believed not just because of being a Bills fan that in the later parts of the year needing a good running game due to the change in the weather is crucial to winning a championship or a deep run in the play offs . If you look at the last few Super bowl champs they have had some hammers in the back field & one of them winning 2 SB's in consecutive yrs being Lagarette Blount when he ran 1 yr for the Pats in 17 & the next for the Eagles in 18 . Another part of the changes in the new NFL that i wonder about which I also read a article recently that contributed to the retirement of a really good player that was on both the Pats & the Eagles being Chris Long . In Long's situation he said players aren't given enough plays to get into a rhythm with in the game . Long said in this interview that part of his decision to retire was based on being a older player that if he only played 10 to 15 snaps a game that he didn't feel he could get into a rhythm of a game & by sitting for long periods that by doing so it could give more of a cause for him to get injured . https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/05/20/chris-longs-decision-to-retire-was-complicated/ It use to be yrs back that some of us can remember (going back to the RB position) that a lot of RB's said they needed some 25 to 30 carries just to get into a rhythm of the game & some older running backs got better as the game went on . Can you imagine taking say a John Riggins or a Walter Peyton & only giving them half or less of the carries they use to get ? I don't know if either of them & others like Czonka, OJ, Campbell, & Allen would have had the careers they did if not to get them into the rhythm of the game & get in that zone but in todays new & improved NFL are there players that could be cut from that mold of needing more plays just to get warmed up having great careers turned into mediocre careers due to the changes of having some 3 or more RB's in the back field ? I for one am glad that there are some old time thinking coaches like a Frank Reich that realize just how important a good running game is even though he may use more backs to accomplish the task at hand ! I just hope some of the new up & coming coaches can incorporate some of the old school NFL thought into their new & improved NFL visions moving forward ...
  7. They need to win it this year just for the fact that every year that goes by it will give the Pats fans a excuse that Brady is older or if he retires they will be able to say well you couldn't beat us while Brady was here . I don't see it happening this year i think our Bills will make a good run at it but they have to at least split with the Pats this year & then if they can meet them in the play offs then better yet !! GO BILLS !!
  8. “I’m learning a lot about coaching in the NFL. I played for 12 years in this league. I was known as a ‘GOAT’ and don’t get any respect from coaches that just coach a game. There’s a lot of stuff in the world that has rubbed off on the NFL in business and the way they run it – hiring people that are not even qualified.” “That’s the mind-boggling to me. I know about coaches pride and all of that stuff, egos and everything – but I just can’t believe that you wouldn’t want players on your staff that played the game. They can help your players because when I was in Buffalo – and you know all the mistakes we were having – that was communication issues.” “I played the game so I was there (presumably he means in Buffalo) to try to help simplify things but my suggestions were never taken – so it was very frustrating for me very early in my coaching career when your opinion is not taken seriously.” Is any of what Ed has said really an epiphany ? From the Gov't on down to a guy in a factory that what he said is true those that go to school & learn from books think they know so much more than those with hands on experience i've seen it time & time again in my 57 yrs so this doesn't surprise me ! I was told by a man yrs ago that had been replaced at a steel job by a youngin that spent 8 yrs in college learning metallurgy then brought back due to his stellar work & attendance record he told me "never show all your cards in your hand because the minute you do your no longer needed" that was so true . Those that learn from books are in a lot of situations so out of touch with how things really are & could learn so much more if they would put their individual ego's aside & open their minds to learn from those that have been there done that & got the T shirt in the closet but that's not the way it happens !! Hands on over book smarts every time !!
  9. There you go the most inspired in depth opinion of how the money should be split up in the NFL !! I bet the players will be all about giving up some of their cash to pay for the coaches & other staff I just wonder where this train of thought comes from ?? Never heard of it before ...
  10. This year the OTA's & camp will prove to be very interesting to see just who stays & who goes, the biggest one i will be watching & wondering how they will figure who will stay & just who will be a starter is the O line !! There seems to be so much good talent that they have brought in to the fold which is good but there are only so many roster spots to be had & not all will be able to make the team . I see some of the guys from last year like Sirles, & some others brought in late last year that could very well be gone because of the upgrade in O line talent !!
  11. By being able to win a Super Bowl & lead a team to the play offs more than a couple of times it shows that the guy is a competitor & wants to be "The Guy" but as he rounds 3rd to head for home in his career he needs to be more of a team guy which could be part of the reason why he is no longer with the Ravens ! But i believe that Elway & company will give him every chance to once more be "The Guy" & if they think he wins that competition then he will have a legit chance to prove he can still do it but if not then he needs to help any way he can to get the rookie up to speed if he wants any chance at winning another ring before his curtain call comes around !!
  12. We all know that 1983 was considered one of the best yrs for QB's drafted that went on to succeed in the NFL with Elway, Marino & Kelly & then there is the 2004 draft which was pretty good too Eli, Rivers, Rothlesburger, Losman, well 3 out of 4 ain't bad !! But could 2013 be the worst draft class ever in the NFL for QB's ?? As we all know many of the choices while Doug Whaley was our GM weren't very good ones & Beane & company recognized that & has cleared the slate of all the Whaley blunders from the terrible contracts that hung the club with bad debt to player production & added plenty of cap room as to get good players in on a more well thought out plan as far as contracts go ! Not to mention getting rid of some over rated players !! Whaley didn't completely screw up all his picks he had a few like Robert Woods that was a good player but not used correctly & some others that their names escape me right now that didn't do terrible while here but over all he didn't draft well to say the least ... I for one looking back at the 2013 draft like you all wondered why they reached for EJ in the 1st round mainly because i thought there was better value in the later rounds weather it be EJ or another QB like Landry, Barkey, or the many others drafted that year but i'm here to tell you it's a good thing that i'm not a GM in the NFL because i was terribly wrong that year when it came to who i thought would be a really good QB . Glennon came out & made a splash at first in Tampa Bay but flared out quickly, after that Barkley i thought would do good things in Philly but wound up as a back up for many teams & showed well for the Bills in his one game & i hope if needed he can do more of the same but didn't do a lot at any of his other stops in the league ! For the most part when EJ first took the field & showed flashes of his talent & mostly him being a great team guy & his enthusiasm for being a Bill i was in hopes that with the correct coaching ? he could over come his deficiency's at the position & become our guy & that Whaley saw something in him that we as fans didn't but we all know how that turned out thanks in part t St. Doug's great coach acumen . But i read a article that tells just how bad 2013 was for QB's in that draft & i couldn't believe it most of those drafted that year are either back ups, looking for work, never played a NFL game & have been out of the NFL for a while which really surprised me . I think given who & how many were drafted & what they are doing now you could say that 2013 was among one of if not the worst draft class for QB's maybe ever in the NFL & if not please let me know if there was one worse than this . https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/05/13/ej-manuel-geno-smith-moves-a-reminder-of-the-weak-2013-draft-class/
  13. When i found out Browny was filling in for Tasker i listened to every show last week, He even covers for Murphs inept opinions of the Bills i never thought a guy that does nothing but football for a living could be so far away from knowing anything about football until i heard Murph & the way he flip flops on his opinions !! Even Donald Jones made Murph sound better & now that he is gone could give us some insight to why he left ! I think Browny is the best reporter the Bills have very articulate & well spoken in his commentary doesn't stumble at all & he is very passionate about what he does & does a great job !! I could see him being a reporter for ESPN or Fox sports very easily if he ever decided to . Murph on the other hand not so much & i would hope that they are looking for a different play by play guy because his TOUCHDOWN TOUCHDOWN TOUCHDOWN calls are a far cry from Vans epic Bills calls !! Just saying ... But to the point of the OP the pair of Murph & Tasker does nothing for me !!
  14. Well at least he go one part of it right where he said in 3 yrs he would be saying "hey guys you got a job for me" !!
  15. And a bowl of skittles on the practice field ... Either that or he won't sign until they bring Chad Kelly in with him !!
  16. God is good !! Prayers for his strength to continue down the path he has chosen which ever that may be he will be a inspiration to others through his testimony .
  17. This guy doesn't have a clue if Tommy B had in front of him what Josh had he would have had a lower Completion % than Josh & never went to the super bowl & like one of the other posters said this dude never watched a game maybe a couple of high light pieces but that s it !! McD & Dabol should make Josh read every one of these pieces that come out on him just for pure motivation !! This is probably the same guy that said he couldn't see where the Bills were headed & didn't see the plan Beane has ...
  18. Hes probably the "expert Yahoo" that couldn't see the plan that Beane has been working on too ! This guy lives & dies by how much crap he can give out to some teams, so just take him out back & pummel him !!
  19. Could use a few more like him in Washington now days !!
  20. I've always wondered if that's where Donald Sutherland got his sons name Kiefer Sutherland ?& if so what was the driving force behind such a decision !! ? Mom must have signed of on it too ?
  21. Hey i know guys like you are way above me in the football knowledge world just by the amount of posts you have but as you can tell by the amount of posts i have i don't spend near the time on the computer because i have other things more important to do & this is just for fun ! I come here because i like the Bills & have for a long time & like to read other peoples post & have fun that's all i was doing with the post that i mentioned something about gloating if you would have seen the smiley faces that may have given it away . I'll try & live up to standards set by you more experienced posters next time & be more serious & factual in my future posts ...

Have a great day fellow Bills fan GO BILLS  !!

My post had nothing to do with knowledge, seriousness, time devoted to the board, or anything like that.

You started a LAMP post to brag, so my guess would be that you expected some ribbing from fellow posters.  Hopefully you didn't take my posts too seriously, because they're intended to be tongue-in-cheek.

I guess the only 2 things I'd say are:

      1) when you make a self-aggrandizing topic, be prepared for some needling

      2) if my specific needling offended you in any way, then you have my sincere apologies

      Be well.

  22. Given what McBean has done in the time that they have been here I'm stoked ever since Marv left & the legends of the Bills hay days of the ninety's i haven't felt as good about the direction the Bills are going in under this regime !! McBean has a plan & they are implementing what seems to be flawlessly, Beane makes moves & gets players in the draft & doesn't over compensate like Whaley did for Sammy, like he said this draft "we wanted Cody Ford & thought about moving back into the first round to get him but it was too costly" that shows he knows how to work the draft & wound up getting his guy anyway ! The Bills now have all the talent i believe they could want to be more than relevant & as some football folks think might even be able to be the cinderella team this year & with what they have available as far as talent goes if the coaches can get these guys up to speed sooner rather than later with the veteran presence & the highly ranked rookies we could be taking Cinderella to the ball this yr or at the very least buying her transportation to get there !! GO BILLS !!!
  23. Dawkins has proved to be a good LT that will continue to improve on his skills while here & has also proven by his statements that he is the type of player the Bills want to have a team first guy not like a AB where it's all about him which i am so glad for & hope we don't ever have any AB types on the Bills team ! With the addition of all the new guys to the team it will also add as motivation as he said to not slack off because you know that if your not doing your job you can be easily replaced so i believe it to be a win all the way around but it will be interesting to see who is left standing after the dust has cleared from camp to the pre season !!
  24. I never said they "needed to do it" alls i was saying in my earlier post about the cards was that with the hire of Kingsbury & given the fact that he loved the guy while at the college level & while he was a college coach also given that the Cards had Rosen to use as a possible trade bait scenario that it would happen & a lot of Bills fans in typical fashion said there was no way it would happen & that it would be stupid if they did. Well it did happen, i called it & i'm gloating because i can ? weather they needed to or not ? Just saying ...
  25. Here's a better question why did he fall to where he did apparently all other 31 teams didn't have him very high or he had some serious improvements that needed to be done to his game so trade up AH i'm not thing=king that would be a really smart thing given the reaction of all the other teams to let him slide !! Just saying ...
