  1. Is he that type of penetrating player though? They kind of look alike but he seems like a different player from the little I know (more like star than Kyle, no?)
  2. Pretty much anyone passing here must’ve flagged him hes got to be bpa otherwise
  3. Suspected he’d be gone
  4. Call me crazy but.... griffin? I want an offensive playmaker but think this kid could be the real deal despite the obvious challenges
  5. All about the docs. All you can do is trust your guys. If cleared he’s a no brainer. Looks like no ones confident though. call me crazy but... maybe griffin at 96 or in the 4th? I want offensive playmakers but the kids another freak athlete
  6. He was just too ordinary and far too many teams would have gotten guys between the top 4 and free agency. Anything’s possible but it did seem too frenzied here for a bit.
  7. Thats what a single digit wonderlic indicates, no jokes intended
  8. I like to think I’m not dumb, and I’m relatively outgoing... and I accept that calling a game for 3 hours would be extremely difficult. What made VY think he could is beyond me
  9. I’ve got to ask... did I seem to be crying about racism here? Guy asked for data points to back up someone else’s comment, so I sent a few over. I seem to be the least emotional of the group, while the two of you got upset.
  10. Meh, I started to feel bad about the detour then remembered the 32 other threads about him and that this was far from the primary one anyway
  11. I believe the point is that if you drop Drew Brees on a JV high school football field he should light it up as the best of all 22 players every snap.... taking it to the extreme
  12. I mean, I asked what data you’d like and you said hate crimes. Is there other concrete data you want instead? I also brought housing data, for example. Im very explicitly not saying WNY is full of racists but instead that by several differing metrics it simply tends to rank on the wrong end of the spectrum. I’ve gone out of my way to explicitly call out buffalo as having a lot of good things and good people but room to grow on race relations. So far you’ve offered up that racists live everywhere, and that it could be transplants coming for college throwing off the stats online and hate crime data is incorrect.
  13. Totally fair- and I was genuinely curious. Clearly spent a lot of time and I appreciate the effort
  14. All I pulled is what you asked for. It obviously comes with issues of what’s actually charged. For someone upset by casual comments you’ve brought little data and made a few of those comments yourself. I don’t mean that as an insult but it seems you might be the one that made up your mind without using data.
  15. Wouldnt an Achilles injury be the equivalent of a TON of mileage?
  16. I think Beane likes upside and physical traits in a qb (see newton, Cam). Theres something to be said for boom boom or bust VS just reliably decent to good
  17. Not totally current, but still a bit higher on the hate crime per capita rate if you want to check out this map (again just among the first links to pop up... though you may start seeing patterns emerge in what have now been 4 links I’ve provided to different ways to pick up on trends... obviously no way to quantify this but saying there’s a reputation and some reasons for it being there isn’t unfair) http://boisestatepublicradio.org/post/map-shows-boise-county-has-highest-hate-crime-rate-nation-it-s-wrong#stream/0
  18. I’d be curious how many cutoffs you chose as meaningful before attaching names vs how many cutoffs were created after lining guys up. Choosing the meaningful threshold without bias can be tricky in these
  19. So the theory is buffalo has an inordinate amount of college kids from elsewhere coming to the area and getting racist online? where are they coming from and why are they moving to buffalo for school? Some strange recruiting process I’m not familiar with? and honestly, why does it matter even if that improbable situation was the case? They would still be part of the community. is there a data point you were looking for in particular?
  20. Yea, it’s on the spectrum of homophobia generally. Doesn’t mean you are beating gays up in your spare time if you’ve said it but it’s landing you on the spectrum of disrespectful against gay people. Did the housing one roll up with the others to maaaaaybe make you think twice? Should I dig up the cash bail articles? Or what were you looking for when calling out lack of any data? i think we are fine saying buffalo is good but could work on race. Saying it could improve isn’t insulting or the end of the world
  21. Or here is a study on housing patterns putting buffalo among the most segregated cities (along with many that appear on those lists and would likewise be top of mind for possible race issues) https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/realestate/the-16-most-segregated-cities-in-america/ss-AAozfco#image=11 doesnt mean it’s a terrible city overrun by overwhelmingly bad people.... I enjoy it greatly... but it’s got some warts and portions being behind the time on race is part of that discussion.
  22. I mean, it’s just an example but that is a spot where people type what they think without fear of judgment. ive seen other examples of ways to quantify it putting the area high on the spectrum. heres a study on twitter: http://www.syracuse.com/state/index.ssf/2016/03/buffalo_anti-gay_racist_study_twitter.html
  23. Hard to quantify but here’s an example: https://www.travelbinger.com/blog/2017/9/2/the-most-racist-cities-in-america-and-should-you-go All said, I’m guessing he was just a teenager that came to age in an era of shock being “funny” and was probably not exposed to the context that takes the air out of jokes. Not losing sleep over it and hope as a young man he’s learning some lessons about the world
  24. He’s the high risk high reward guy. He won’t be Andy dalton.
