Even if not a fit as a starter, I probably would’ve kept him as a package player on that cheap contract and realistically Little trade compensation but not a huge deal

Bills the worst team in the NFL this season?
NoSaint replied to Seanbillsfan2206's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The flip side is what if we were a 6-7 win team last year that was lucky with bounces and health and such.... the gap from 3 or so wins to 9 wins can be a McCoy ankle, tre white knee and not getting a call like the Marty ice fumble. Roll in questions at qb and who knows where we go -

If that’s how you feel why are you linking it? -
Sadly, I think this mock from CBS is the most accurate...

Not what I would hope to see.... but will admit that there would be a small part of me that enjoyed the 5th grade class getting it right -
Would you use Shady as trade bait?
NoSaint replied to bills in oregon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The cap hits if traded are essentially 6 flat with no guarantees. A little above average starter money with far below average commitment. The pick is the biggest issue honestly. -

Not trying to change your mind, but for discussion sake... at that point 2 years of shady with no guarantees vs 4 years of Barkley fully guaranteed with both at the same pay rate.... the pick gets you a little longevity but with a pass rusher or corner or... it saves you $10m a year in cap space that can be spent on addition barkley looks like a great player but the structure of pay slotting vs positional pay rates for vets makes running back a really limited value that early. -

Theres cap space too... I would’ve considered it more strongly in March and if there was a round 3-ish attached. Sign a decent vet and add a day two rookie with the pick/savings. It’d be a matter of win now with shady or take a little risk for gaining better long term building prospects and a more focused running approach. I like shady but I also like the models we saw in Minnesota (depth kept them solid despite injury) and nola (healthy and consistently strong). 15-20 touches a week and shady is your guy but if you need 30 carries or see a rolled ankle and those backfields are better. essentially 2 years 12m with little risk. It’s not terrible for a new team. -
Yup! Odds are they want to mine your concession and shopping data at the game. Which sucks. im anti bad apps, but don’t think that’s the same as anti e-tix. Doing away with tickets that can get 20 copies printed of isn’t terrible in my book, but perhaps stubhub could do I high quality secondary paper ticket for fee to cover those raging against the technology
-
Right, but location services should not matter unless it’s a junk app was my point. I’ve used e tickets for nearly every flight, concert and sporting event for about a decade now and never heard that and can’t understand how it would effect the hundreds of tickets I’ve used unless Atlanta has a unique system built out. For most its literally just scanning an image of a barcode (or q code) - no different than a pdf paper. I’ve literally used the electronic version of the pdf plenty of times too.
-
That seems a specific and odd app issue. Typically my electronic tix have essentially just been the same as a pdf on my phone. Keep the screen bright and phone charged and it’s good to go. Also much less risk of counterfeit. a poorly design app changes that of course
-
But they are doing a lot of pdf tickets on secondary market sites? Im surprised that on a message board so many aren’t using e tickets semi-regularly im not a huge fan of a forced app- but electronic tickets tend to be super easy and convenient...

Myth that we traded up to 12 to grab a QB
NoSaint replied to jahbonas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isit though? -
He was texting a screenshot- so, no. i haven’t used this specific app but I’ve been paperless for concerts, sporting events, flights, etc.... for years. Is this really any significant difference comparatively? It’ll just ensure less counterfeits floating around right? Or is this app more complicated for some reason? Couldnt they just use their standard original hard copy? It sounded like this was just cutting PDFs out
-
Ill buy that the media overrates him- but I think it’s easy to accidentally push back too far too there are several excellent QBs that aren’t carrying teams to the playoffs annually. While they have busts, and misses.... they are more than just Brady. To stay at the top so long does say something. Sure free agents are eager to join but guys with rings get poached - both players and coaches. They also might be the only regime to hit on two QBs if Jimmy is a hit. I’m struggling to think of another. I wouldn’t be upset if roseman got the nod- but get longevity sometimes making a guy float up the list a couple spotslike B.B. has

Yea but it’s not like 3 is a bad ranking.

Fred Jackson wall of fame or not?
NoSaint replied to Original Byrd Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Likewise fine either way. Ultimately it’s less about Fred and more about what you think the wall stands for. Stats he doesn’t make it, embodiment of ideals and he’s a sure thing. If being really provocative- I don’t believe he and OJ both belong on it. Either it’s purely on field stats, or character counts. If Fred goes up for being the type of dude he was - I think oj comes down for the same. -
Peterman Works w/ Tom House, Adds Velocity
NoSaint replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To be fair I haven’t been one to swing wildly high or low on him based on a few minutes of play here and there. I think he can be a fine backup probably. I don’t know how much his actual skill set will evolve though. -

Plenty of guys don’t actually improve much with time. It’s an assumption we always make but only sometimes see work out -
Project QB's who DID reach potential
NoSaint replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a GREAT player but tannehill is the best example I can think of recently that’s a huge project, top pick, and signed a big second contract -
Aaron Rodgers 'You've got to trust the process'
NoSaint replied to TSNBDSC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Still haven’t found in the bama archives where they invented the process? -
There’s some consideration to be made that running backs that play a 5 year rookie deal with success tend to see their next 5 years he the downslope so vet contracts rarely guarantee money deep into deals. Between the ease of transition and the short careers it’s a position that wouldn’t bother me for that reason... or at least that framing. I would just be a little bummed about the lack of cap savings for a rookie but not because he’s particularly risky.

It all depends the amount in each bucket. To simply say both can’t be used is silly
