  1. 2-4 are the prime window, not 3-5. If he’s the real deal we have a decade plus of opportunity but you are tossing one of the most premium years out the window simply because you are cool with rookie mistakes for several years it seems.
  2. It feels like you made a bunch up to create a soap opera narrative
  3. Which wrs didn’t come back from this? Genuinely curious who the comparables are if so many are scared of it? I don’t know offhand
  4. I feel like the first half is a bit overstated. Taking the safeties out of the box is a major impact on the run game and giving Allen a threat at the level he likes to pass is great. There’s a reason a good WR gets so much more than even an elite TE. also, I remember thinking that a TE would help Taylor throw to the middle of the field. In hindsight spending money to play to your qbs strengths seems most appealing.
  5. Remind me how they would promise that and why he would accept it?
  6. Not much of a limb to predict for what amount to a bunch of practice squad guys. I’d venture many will be in camps.
  7. Touché. I’ve held my midseason stance and it may be expired now
  8. Touche and I tend to agree with the keep til you replace sentiments but he’s someone I’d be actively looking to replace potentially. Could we save money with a mark ingram type and flip a mid round pick for shady into a productive young guy for instance?
  9. That you can get a pretty solid RB at 6.1m and if you get any return on him it may be a good time to make the move You cant pay a role player running back 9m you can get two good role players for that
  10. Remember when they only used to have like 2 scouts
  11. Ive had 1-2 people that are stubbornly against it without understanding it and given similar feedback when they knew I used it. They raced when they didn’t know. Some people just want to be “that guy”
  12. I have no idea but I meant for a qb with his resume in the nfl 3 years 20m wouldn’t be a shock if he wants 20 per year, well, yea... too much
  13. If it was 20m for the standard 3 year contract it’s not crazy
  14. Other than excitement- anything supporting that being better for a development track?
  15. I think that browns unlikely. We’ve discussed green/Julio 1000 times (notes as wr not head cases)... what about OBJ as a young explosive guy at a position of need but drama filled?
  16. I mean it’s average starting center pay. It’s not exorbitant but also not peanuts. He’s not slotted up to be a JAG at the pay rate.
  17. I wouldn’t say ONLY that
  18. Youd still have a boatload of free agent money
  19. You hope they learn along the way but that, the Benjamin trade and a couple other moves do leave me nervous about this burn it all down and then rebuild approach. There have been some big decisions about players they know well and totally missed the boat with. With 80m and a bunch of picks they should come out with a few good pieces on offense but will this group nail selection and develop across the board?
  20. To be fair, one may argue Jauron was the more seasoned coach
  21. What help will cutting 5 guys to free up that extra 6m provide compared to the original $79m?
  22. What help will cutting 5 guys to free up that extra 6m provide compared to the original $79m?
  23. Once you get to 3rd Rb or 5th Wr vs practice squad vs these guys... it’s probably six of one and a half dozen the other. I won’t pretend that most GMs could articulate the difference between the 160th best WR and the 190th. It’s just scheme fit, roster fit and familiarity at that point. I suppose you could say the same about the 80th and 105th qb beyond you really don’t want to see them play while the other positions can blend in a bit more
  24. What would be the spread be against bama? ?
  25. Go ahead- what’s the more fun alternative that doesn’t increase risk?
