I’m not a fan of the “everything gets a bow on it” type of finales To end where it started conversationally was I think quite smart (button) the walk down memory lane was a little cheesy but better than a lot of finales once you accept the show for what it was.

Trevor Lawrence asked to be paid in Crypto currency
NoSaint replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
So the original tweet not aging well as TL indicates his signing bonus for his endorsement of the crypto platform was in crypto not the signing bonus for the jags…. and many articles continuing to point out no one knows the date it was paid and if/when it was possibly cashed out. Yea, and good crypto projects often have more utility than pretty jewelry so it’s still a little apples oranges -
surely you understand the difference between something that calls into question the authenticity of the product on the field vs responding to a criminal complaint wholly unrelated to Sundays though. im not minimizing his issue - just pointing out they are apples and oranges to place side by side for employee discipline see if any player ever plays nice in the sandbox with the nfl if zero merit is given to that.

Eric Wood with good Bills info on Bussin with the Boys

I don’t understand the aversion to calling out a few actual interesting points for discussion. -
I think the biggest underlying issue on length is how do you count time served last year, right? the nfl wants to look strong but Watson has to be arguing he already sat quietly a full year getting cute with his contract only makes finding a middle ground harder. The nfl saying he’s out 8 games and $25m in salary satiates their need. Playing half the season with essentially full pay looks much weaker… so now the punishment needs to look strong in the number of games instead of dollars… but watsons camp can’t agree to a full year.

Trevor Lawrence asked to be paid in Crypto currency

yes, agreed that having a singular investment in your portfolio is a bad choice. though on this individual case we have no idea how much stayed in for how long. Or when the actual payments were disbursed either. It wouldn’t change the idea that a singular investment is incredible risk but for all this writer knows - he could’ve made a fortune with that risky choice if the payment was in a dip and liquidates at highs later in the year. Buying lottery tickets is a bad retirement plan but some people do win - and we don’t really know details in what he played. -

also, crypto in general is up hugely if you stretch the timeline at all. ol Trevor hit at a bad timing but most investments look rough over his unfortunate timeline. it’s not impossible to see new ATH down the line either. Down now does not mean down forever yea those poor suckers that bought Bitcoin 5-10 years ago. -
Why don't NFL players have Tommy John surgery?
NoSaint replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall
maybe, I guess. I think they used to say that about normal passing downfield too. -

follow up: could josh throw curves or breaking balls to help get the ball past defenders? like, you’d have to practice a lot and maybe have a signal but imagine if josh could could slice or hook his throws? A back shoulder where the receiver stops AND the ball comes back? Deadly. I wonder if Jordan Palmer knows how to do those. -

picturing badol throwing heaters at 7 year olds. Can you imagine if josh got a mound in the pocket? Would his fast ball or running start down the hill be more exciting? -

If josh Allen were more delicate he might play baseball. -
I think the real answer is there are only 22 starters so 18th for the backup nickel/safety isnt crazy slotting

you don’t get all the way to “and now he should have to publicly address it today” with all that though. likely because that’s a jump and reasonable to say it’s not something he needs to do

As is, and in our current world, I may agree that it’s a red flag though again I think Rex was a special kind of case. but if we set aside the current model and had a pool deep enough with enough experience to have practically co-coordinator with an offensive coordinator that manages the unit/staff and offensive play caller that focuses on the playbook and film, and the quality control coaches had a few more established experienced guys mixed in… well, maybe that offensive minded head coach is working 12 hour days instead of 20 hours? Or kick them out after so many hours during the mid week? I know we glamorize the commitment but it’s pretty ridiculous and has real world consequences for these guys and their families.

bigger staffs create deeper talent pools and more guys getting developed. More experts in the pipeline, and less tasks for a HC to need to be the expert. More coordinator level talent, etc… the pipeline into football coaching is a tough life. Better staff rooms and it’s less grueling at all ranks. Setting the expectation from day 1 that you are worked like a dog for no pay creates a culture where these guys have to be there 24/7

yea, if we’ve made it through the last couple years - ain’t nobody starting a civil war for 19 year old gun ownership

Dwayne Haskins killed [Edit: struck by vehicle]
NoSaint replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
don’t worry - we all change and evolve over years and decades. Odds are there are a variety of new scum baggy things you do! that said, the minimization of drunk driving to avoid self introspection is definitely something that I hope changes. “Everybody was doing it” sure should be replaced by “I really messed up and made regrettable decisions” for a lot of folks. -
the kid was brought in on a mental evaluation hold a year prior. how can anyone close to him describe being shocked that he did the thing that spurred that? we see “he was a good boy” and “I am shocked” across all lines and backgrounds. To publicly say otherwise for many close to these horrific criminals is akin to saying “I failed those people by not speaking up sooner” and it just doesn’t happen often.
