  1. last guy off the bench vs high draft pick expected to start can come with very different conversations
  2. I use the Tom Brady argument all the time. But it’s a big gap between looking for your franchise qb there vs looking for a 3rd string back to use in a couple sub packages
  3. Luckily we have two starting safeties
  4. Obviously we are getting kamara now its like you aren’t even trying
  5. a “k”
  6. are you Tony romo or do other people call him that too?
  7. Could be privacy concerns, could be angry side pieces either way, not coaches spot to tell the media his personal business
  8. If nothing else, I’m glad to have someone new to yell at instead of mckenzie. i think similar to him is the floor, but he has some upside from there that McKenzie hasn’t been able to capture.
  9. Yea but those guys are knocking guys out of the calculation at the bottom of the roster too
  10. meh. If it converts a couple extra short yardage plays, and puts the ball in the end zone a few times more (both by scoring himself and by extending drives) I won’t complain about a lower dollar deal.
  11. the restructure is generally in their benefit, not a selfless team first act
  12. It in fact makes them higher, and thus harder to trade.
  13. we’d probably give him some of that “just because we have it” money so he likes us though
  14. would you rather jeudy and like 20m in other cap space though, as it’s not just a pick. Gets more interesting when it’s jeudy and another good player or Hopkins
  15. If you don’t like them running on us, you’ll really hate them passing on us
  16. salary counts fully in its year Signing bonus amortizes over the remaining years (up to 5) The bar napkin would be swapping a 10m hit into 5 2m hits, for example. team gets flexibility and the player gets money today instead of during the season.
  17. This early in his career, it’s hard to say it’s something more substantial and not just bad luck a couple times. if we get a high pick- great. If not, at least a reason to hope for improvement. I don’t expect guys to randomly shoot through the roof but a high ankle is substantial to play through, potentially
  18. I hate to say it but the best news of the off-season was that he had a high ankle right? He looked like a cruise ship changing direction at times if his leg truly heals up it could be major
  19. I’ll just keep saying it: I think he also helps replace mckenzie. If you chalk a few of the dollars to slot receiver it’s helpful.
  20. I mean, it depends what you qualify as false. he probably has mutual interest from some of not all of those. Is it false for the 3 that do t materialize? my bet is beane is doing homework in case the running back market is soft and he can steal one a little cheaper than normal
  21. you have to understand though that the saints worst hits were self inflicted. You give those massive signing bonuses and cut/trade a guy inside a year - that’s different than just manipulating the money. jimmy graham, and Junior galette come to mind. Imagine if we cut Miller today- that’s a different issue than restructuring Josh to play with money. then roll in bounty gate - loss of picks, a year of drama etc… and that they were on the cusp a few times- the rams pass interference, the diggs touchdown both were very possibly Super Bowl trips lost. ill take the ring, and what should’ve been at least one more trip
  22. Seems like a good guy. I bet hed fit in with our locker room exceptionally. I don’t know what his efficiency looked like- didn’t watch a ton of the lions but he sure found the end zone. If he could handle short yardage and pair with cook (and hynes) it could be a fun trip potentially.
