  1. yup. Took on big risk to get less overall and maybe miss a 3rd contract that said, i should be so dumb as to ear 260m, so I can only mock him so much but it certainly wasn’t the optimum outcome
  2. That he made a bad choice that lost money but worked out fine anyway cause giving up a few bucks isn’t the end of the world when you have 250m?
  3. the trade off of making less overall money and taking bigger risks so he can claim the largest deal until burrow signs for more?
  4. someone like hurts will have 2 more years of elite pay in their career. Less risk. Heck, quicker to a 3rd contract at whatever that pay scale ends up which isn’t a given for Lamar now.
  5. yup for perspective, through first 8 years of their play hurts will earn 260M roughly, be entering free agency on a second prime contract and have reduced his risk substantially Lamar will be about $200m in, have had huge risk the last 2 years, and not have a 3rd contract in the pipeline yet (possibly ever) but Lamar can say he got the biggest contract.
  6. well and you discount future year picks so it’s wildly unrealistic
  7. which is fine, if true, I’d rather an accurate assessment now rather than forcing a bad fit further. It’s not like 3 rounders are slam dunks. You evaluate and either give opportunities or move on.
  8. it’s just so hard to predict drafting those guys slotted above us
  9. and I said the reason we don’t have a slot receiver - ie him - is because he’s a loud mouth idiot that can’t keep a job. saying you showed up after doing nothing for 2 months and were the best guy for the job still is not exactly earning him a roster spot. It’s too easy to say “I busted my butt for two months for the opportunity and I think I made the most of it. I’m grateful for the opportunity. I hope I get to keep earning it all off season and next year”
  10. because he’s loud and a distraction instead of doing his job?
  11. Miss a couple any given year. Not a ton but I’m also not the type that’s going to ditch another event or disappear on vacation to watch the game, short of it being championship game type of status.
  12. why didn’t it 30+ years ago?
  13. Or, and hear me out, years ago without technology and obvious partnerships it was super easy to gamble and influence stuff and currently might be one of the most challenging times in nfl history to get away with it.
  14. honestly I was surprised to find out they can bet on any sports
  15. yes, and the appearance that players could profit off influencing games puts the billions at risk, while DV does not seem to do the same
  16. and is unfortunately a reflection of us being terrible consumers of media. It’s only profitable if it’s what we tune into and we eat it up.
  17. people that use Twitter and want an easy way to verify accounts?
  18. I’ll be honest, I think most of us never even connected the dots to ask. Trades get so hard to keep track of.
  19. I’m just surprised no one else wondered about drafting mahomes before

  22. at what point can the packers claim tampering with the jets publicly declaring he will be there? I know this has been a non traditional situation but at some point a rival GM can’t declare a guy under contract elsewhere will be there If they aren’t pushing chips in this year, why race to burn a year of someone’s rookie deal
  23. if you don’t see them gaining, they are losing ground and you are just waiting for the fall to experience it the cap situation will get tighter, and the draft hasn’t produced home runs. The hallmark signing is hurt. That means they haven’t gone forward.
  24. to be fair - even a low ball 2-3 years ago may be more overall than he’d get now. He’s missed multiple years at the higher rate
