  1. I’ll 100% agree in the generality. Especially for a 2am crash. this one being morning after and wandering into traffic- he’s probably far beyond any type of decision making, unfortunately. And if there’s some added context, there could be blame to go around. He wouldn’t be the first wealthy guy drugged by a woman and this wouldn’t be the first messed up truck on the road. I’m not taking the lawyer at face value but to completely dismiss him isn’t fair yet either for sure will agree that by itself hitting him when others didn’t doesn’t mean he did a single thing wrong
  2. Though it’s also possible the truck driver was negligently operating his vehicle too I mean, if accurate that his truck had wheel and brake issues and was carrying an unreasonable load - he may not be a murderer but also share some culpability in the situation. Without knowing any of the details, declaring otherwise confidently is simply projecting your own biases on the world

Non transferable isn’t totally new but not many huge shows have done it
  4. I don’t know this but did he maybe try to bill a little based on the reports and hurt quickness?
  5. a day 2 pick next year barely moves the needle, I’m not sure a day 3 pick gets them any traction in round 1 at all.
  6. maybe? The draft isn’t going to add a starting MLB, RT, and WR2 and impact rusher so even if we tick off 1.5 of those, it’s fair to question a bit
  7. it’d be interesting to run an “on the clock” vote and compare the results to the actual picks annually on draft day
  8. lamar has been offered a massive deal. Lamar the negotiator is why he hasn’t received absolutely unfathomable money. He’s passed on 10s of millions of dollars to guarantee an extra year or two but if he’s remotely a franchise qb he’s obviously not getting cut in 3 years so there’s almost no concern about getting year 5 fully guaranteed at signing.
  9. although in this case Rapp was signed to be the third safety on a team and not a benchmark for future contracts. id venture most of his skills come with disclaimers like “good in space for a…” or “while lacking speed still competently can….” there’s some clear context in what the nfl thinks of rapp vs Maine
  10. I think much more likely, unless he’s trying to play elsewhere, they’d IR him to give him his third year accrual
  11. if the bills pick a guy with 75% of the impact we would call him an absolute steal at our first round pick. You don’t have to like the guy to acknowledge he was a great pick.
  12. touche- by memory I thought he was like 20th. to take a qb that is a tier or two down the board and get what they’ve got is a big win. Hard to call the pick anything but a massive success however this plays out. the fully guaranteed nature doesn’t change the restructure accounting much.
  13. as a middle of the first round pick, it’s hard to say anyone singing his praises was “wrong.” Objectively he’s been a great pick even with headaches.
  14. I mean, I think that a cover 3 zone is still going to pretty well be base for us, but hopefully a few more wrinkles in it
  15. even so, catching a ton of balls AND being a physical blocker - at some point you roll an ankle, or catch a concussion, even ignoring the major injuries. if he gets a high ankle sprain, where does that offense go without adding a threat? I guess there’s still a good bit of speed for Andy to try to scheme but it becomes a challenge.
  16. counter: the on field rules have changed, the physicality has changed where different types of athletes slot up professionally has changed and there’s now a salary cap. Jim played in a different era and it’s not just a fad or swing of the pendulum
  17. everything here. jim is bringing answers from his career but it’s a drastically different era.
  18. they have to worry that at soooome point Kelce misses time. His health has been remarkable but statistically can’t keep up forever and they have so little insulation for that today
  19. Plot twist, its yolos second account
  20. yea, guys never play more calculated vs more emotional. Totally fabricated and crazy. counter: I think you can absolutely tell when he’s starting to play on tilt and is about to uncork an incredibly aggressive throw or run over a guy versus when he’s cool, calculated and methodically attacking
  21. like “oh I’ve missed 3 throws and nothing else is going smooth and I’m going to go hit a guy in the open field” as opposed to calculated “it’s 3rd and 5 and I need to get to the sticks”
  22. It’s one thing in the playoffs or a big 4th quarter drive to win a game. He can’t be taking on linebackers in the second quarter in September though. It’s how you turn him into cam newton or Andrew luck. He needs to learn the risk and reward of it. It’s a long season and he has a lot of them to make it through. Even ignoring the catastrophic injury, the beatings will shorten his shelf life and I want him in Buffalo til he’s 40 and not falling off at 30 there were a few times where it seemed he was running out of frustration more than anything and that’s just not good.
  23. there’s also a consideration that a report gets derailed by someone else swooping in. Often reporters are accurate in what they are sharing but that can change in fluid situations.
  24. counter: adding an all pro to any team nationally considered a contender would be called a final piece. No one is weighing a RT to compete with brown in that statement. Of course they are seeking high compensation. Are they supposed to leak that he’s cheap?
  25. his contract says the nfl thinks otherwise
