  1. A retractable roof would be better than a dome. Only close it on the extreme days, like the Pats game or heavy rain. If you've never seen an NFL game in a dome, it really sucks. The awesome game day atmosphere is gone, and the noise advantage takes a big hit. It seems so quiet at a game indoors.
  2. I look forward to these posts every week, they're one of the highlights of this board.
  3. I think the bigger problem was not throwing based on the conditions. Josh would've had at least 5 more completions if he'd thrown the ball with 80% velocity instead of 110%. He was firing rockets at guys who were wide open & it didn't need it to be that hard. In those conditions, bullet passes are hard to hang onto. And the long one to Knox, if he puts some air under that instead of a 40-yard line drive, that's a big play.
  4. Drew Lock is one of the worst QBs currently in the NFL, he won't even be a backup on a bad team next year. If he's in the league at all, it'll be mid-season signing to a team that lost a QB, & he'll be a backup to the backup. I think Minshew would be ideal as our QB2, but he's under contract. I'd consider swapping a 3rd or 4th to Philly for the stache, especially if we get an extra 3rd rounder for Frazier leaving to become a HC.
  5. I just threw up in my mouth. As a Bills fan in Chicago, this is too reminiscent of when we hired another Bears wash-out in Jauron. The day Ralph hired Jauron was one of the worst days of my football life. I know Nagy used to be looked at as an offensive guru, but people here now consider him one of the worst coaches ever. To people here, Nagy as OC in Buffalo would be looked at like we'd see the Bears bringing in Marrone for OC. Hopefully Beane & McD have asked Trubisky his opinion on Nagy... Please no.
  6. Just got back home to IL, what an awesome experience! Got in to Buffalo Friday night, checked in to the Hotel at 10:15 & decided to head out to try & find some food. There was a Bocce location 10min away that said it was open until midnight, so we headed over, and it was closed at 10:30 when we arrived. I didn't want to take my 2 teens to a "bar" for NYE right before midnight, so the only thing we found nearby was Jim's Steakout. We took it back to the hotel, ate & went to bed. Went to the Falls Saturday morning, with the boys decked out in Allen/Diggs jerseys. Went to Goat Island and it was amazing, all free and hardly anybody else there. I'd only been to the Canada side before, the US side is great too. Hit Charlie the Butcher's for Beef on Weck for lunch after, and they're take-out only now, but we couldn't wait & ate it down immediately in the car. We all loved it We were excited to go to Bar Bill North Saturday evening, got there about 5:00... and it was closed New Years Day, major bummer. I wasn't going to let that ruin our night, so we ended up at Anchor Bar close by. Wings were great, drank a few Anchor Bar IPAs which were really good. My boys loved it, great time. The wings beat the hell out of the BW3 we have at home. I'd had Anchor Bar wings before, still haven't gotten to try Bar Bill's though. Got to Highmark about 10:15, parked at ECC & it was a breeze. Hung out outside for a while, then went in & hit the Bills Store, where I spent way too much money. We can't get Bills gear at home except online, so we went a little crazy. The game was awesome. We had 12th row seats behind the Atlanta sideline, fantastic views. Got in early to see warmups, what an experience for my sons. A good amount of Falcons fans around us, but nothing but good interactions with them & all the Buffalo fans. Just the right amount of snow made for great visuals, and a perfect first Bills game experience for the boys. They loved every second of it, and didn't even want to get up to go the bathroom & miss anything. Seeing their favorite players that close was amazing. The shout song, the atmosphere, the fan noise, it was all just perfect for them. They both said "this is so much better than a Bears game". We got the La Nova pizza inside, and it was great. probably not as good as their their regular locations, but damn good. Got out of the ECC lot super fast after the game & had time to make another stop at Charlie the Butcher's before heading to the airport. The Beef on Weck was my sons' food highlight of the trip. I really wish we that in the Chicago-area. We've decided to make an annual Bills game trip, so this was the start of something great. You WNY guys don't know how good you have it with easy stadium access and parking. I'm in the Chicago area & the only parking for Soldier Field that's as close as the ECC lot to you guys, is for VIP season ticket holders & costs a couple grand per year. Plus the traffic & hassle are 10x worse. For $35 at a Bears game, you're parking miles away & taking a beat up school bus masquerading as a shuttle bus. You're not getting home after a Bears game for at least 2 hours. Bills game are such a better experience. It's so cool seeing people everywhere decked out in Bills gear. I've been a Bills fan in IL for 30+ years & only recently did I start seeing other fans near home. Seeing it everywhere was awesome for me. Thanks to everyone for the great tips & info. They went to very good use.
  7. Lol, awesome. I can't recall that, but sounds awesome. I may have seen it, but lots of beer that day & 20 years has erased the memory. We were in 1 of the grass lots, I think Hammer's.
  8. Nice! I was at that game, Rob Johnson was at QB if I remember right. My boys weren't born yet though...
  9. Last question, I promise... Is there any authentic Buffalo food inside the stadium? I see Bocce Club is there- is it the same pizza as their regular locations or just typical ballpark pizza? Can you get good beef on weck inside? Thanks to everyone for all the responses & tips.
  10. How early should I plan on getting to there? Was planning on getting there around 10:00, but considering the temps, not sure. Can you arrive at 10:00-10:30 & still get parking at ECC?
  11. Thanks for the replies. Sucks that there's no more ketchup/mustard, I've seen vids but was hoping to catch it in person. Guess we'll be dressing warmer than expected. I've never been at the Ralph past November, so I'll expect it to be frigid. My 15yr old has his learners permit, but I don't think I trust him to drive in game day traffic, so I'll limit consumption to pre-game.
  12. It'll probably cost a pair of 1st Rounders for Russ. Jets & Giants certainly have the firepower, but no way would Seattle take Zach Wilson even if he came with a 1st.
  13. Flying in from Chicago with my 15 & 13 year old sons for the game. My wife got us the tickets & hotel for Christmas. My sons are both also huge fans, and they're pumped. We've been trying to get to Buffalo the past few seasons, but their own sports always conflicted with the home schedule. I used to fly out for a game every year, but haven't been to the Ralph since 05'. My boys have been to other NFL games, but never seen "their team" in-person. We get in Friday night, and have all of Saturday to do whatever we want. We're planning on hitting Bar Bill sometime Saturday to knock out both Wings & Beef on Weck, but need some recommendations on other stuff to see/do. We obviously can't hit Chippewa until 2am, but sports bars/restaurants are fair game. I'll only have a rental car, so no tailgate supplies. Are there food trucks or anybody selling food outside the stadium? How early do we need to arrive at the stadium? My boys really want to see Pinto Ron & hopefully somebody destroy a folding table. What area of the lots would we find that? Best place to park to get out after & make a 7:30pm flight? Anything must see/must eat while we're in town? Considering going to the Falls, but not sure. Is the border a hassle with Covid going on?
  14. Aside from performance bonuses, players are thinking about stats in regards to how it affects their next contract negotiations, Pro Bowl/All Pro voting, and even Hall of Fame voters. You can't fault a guy for taking an easy INT, unless it costs them in the game.
  15. That's awesome. I was watching the game with my son, and after the INT, he asked why me Hyde didn't knock it down. I said maybe he has a contract bonus for INT totals, without actually knowing if that was the case. Now I'm the smartest dad in the world...
  16. Feliciano is not the player he was for us in 2019. The reality is, Bates' performance vs the Pats was better than anything Mongo has done in the past 2 seasons. We just had our best OL performace of the year in our biggest game of the year, Bates was the catalyst. When you catch lightning like that, you don't change a thing. I think Bates can be really good, but even if he grades out as league-average, that's better than Feliciano, Ford, or Boettger.
  17. Edmunds would get manhandled by many TEs, let alone OTs. Can you imagine him setting the edge?
  18. Mahomes doesn't have any 1st rounders either, with the exception of CEH. He was drafted with the final pick of the 1st round & has been average at best, not exactly the guy who's making Mahomes elite. If guys are good, who cares where they're drafted.
  19. Great run this week, but I'd say both the Dallas run on Thanksgiving & the Minnesota hurdle were better. Hurdling Anthony Barr in Minny is what "put Josh on the map" for casual fans.
  20. Based on what I could see from the suplex and him being able to return after 1 play, it looks like a grade 1 AC Joint sprain. He can play through it. Ice baths & maybe a pre-game pain injection & he should be good to go.
  21. Bates looked really good, I've been calling for trying him at Guard all year. He was better today than Ike or Ford have ever played for us. This should be a no-brainer for McD. Feliciano backs up C & both OG spots, Ford is emergency injury replacement only.
  22. Devin's first catch where he dragged Dugger for an extra 7 yards was the best play he's made in his 3 seasons, it truly set the tone for the rest of the game. Singletary officially needs to be accounted for by opposing D's going forward.
  23. Nobody has argued that Edmunds isn't good vs the pass, we all know he can play that role well, as seen in the video. It's run support where he struggles, and other teams specifically try to exploit him there. Aside from the struggles with run diagnosis and getting off blocks, he just isn't a good tackler. 90% of his tackles, he lets the ball carrier initiate the contact with him, then just pulls the carrier down on top of himself. He even does this on the nice play he made in the video on DJ Moore's crossing route. A player of Edmunds' size & athleticism should be absolutely blasting a much smaller receiver & driving through him to the ground. He rarely hits anyone hard, and prefers to either drag or pull them down, usually giving them an additional 2 yards in the process. This just isn't how LBs are supposed to tackle.
  24. Will McD/Frazier be smart enough to Not play nickel vs a team that runs 75% of the time?
  25. I was impressed with the yardage Singletary was getting through contact. Several times, he was stuffed but squirted through to get a couple yards.
