  1. I posted some harsh criticism on Knox prior to this season, and was annoyed when we cut Hollister with no proven TE on the roster. Knox made me eat my words. He's not only good enough, but he's the stud TE we've been looking for forever. I hope we do lock him up a year early.
  2. The Texans job is just another placeholder, whoever takes it knows they'll likely only be there 1 year before they get the Culley treatment. It's as bad a situation as any NFL job could be. No idea if Frazier would've even taken it, but he'd have likely ended up with the same fate. Lovie's career record as HC is 89-87, Frazier's is 21-32-1. So I guess there's some basis for their thinking.
  3. Murray not going to baseball, that idea is such a joke that the Cardinals wouldn't even take the threat seriously. His NFL contract is $35.6M, his contract with the A's was for $4.6M (which he had to pay most back). Even if he did want to pass up 7x more money & play baseball, it's not like he'd just go play in MLB right away. He'd need a minimum of 2 years in the minor leagues to be ready for the big leagues, if ever. Tons of 1st round MLB picks never make it out of the minors, or do get a shot & can't stick. Not to mention that he probably hasn't hit a baseball in almost 3 years. There's a 0% chance Murray would give up NFL stardom to go toil in the A's farm system for years, at a fraction of the money he's currently making.
  4. My father in law used to work for General Mills, he has unpressed Wheaties boxes of the Bills Champions from all 4 Superbowl years.
  5. I'd bet 90% or more of Amazon Prime members have no interest in watching Thursday Night football. It's BS to make all members pay to cover that contract. It's like Sirius/XM radio charging ridiculous subscriber rates to cover Howard Stern's contract, who less than half of subscribers even listen to.
  6. They should stop voting in Kickoff & Punt Returners then, leave that roster spot for a deserving position player.
  7. Doug Marrone is an available OL coach...
  8. The Rooney Rule by definition forces teams to put a list together of the best "black candidates", separate from the "best candidates". And unless one of their top-3 guys is black, it will always result in a fake interview to satisfy the rule. The rule was never going to work. I wonder what happens when a black candidate asks in the interview "is this interview just to satisfy the Rooney Rule?". Teams obviously can't admit it, but both parties know that often times it is exactly that. Frazier hasn't been looked over because of his skin color, it's because he wasn't good in previous HC experience, and his defensive philosophy is considered old school or antiquated by many. Bienemy was a hot name for a while, but he reportedly has interviewed poorly when given a shot, and teams are wary of his actual involvement in Reid's offense. Nobody is passing on him based on race.
  9. We're gonna have a hard time signing any good free agent DEs when all we can promise them is 59% of the snaps. Our DL players can never make All Pro or Pro Bowls because they don't play enough snaps to get the necessary sack & tackle numbers. The rotation sucks, just spell guys when they need it, like the other 31 teams do...
  10. I think there are ways to circumvent the rule that allows Beane to block him leaving. Daboll could offer Johnson the O-Line Coach job, with a secondary title of Run Game Coordinator or something, which would then qualify as a promotion.
  11. His overall numbers are rather mediocre, aside from TDs, but he is a much bigger weapon than a mediocre TE. Knox actually plays TE, most of the other guys listed in this thread are actually just big WRs & don't line-up inline much, that's huge. The good news is, that he will likely be paid like a "pretty good TE", but has the potential for a 1,000 yard, 12 TD season.
  12. Kelce is an elite player, but what he did against us wasn't all him, it was our defense letting him (and T Hill) do it so easily. If Knox had traded teams with Kelce, he'd have done the exact same thing in that game. All game, Mahomes was completing throws to receivers that were wide open by 5 yards. We stayed in the the soft zone with safeties way too deep, and KC just kept running zone-beater crossing routes. Every time, Mahomes had multiple wide open options to not just catch the ball, but get a bunch YAC since our defenders were so far off. We didn't even force Mahomes to take any chances, the few poor throws he made were just mistakes on his part.
  13. I don't get all the love for signing Gronk, we aren't going to start featuring 2-TE sets. Would we really want to take Knox off the field? While Gronk is a still a savage blocker, he's nowhere near the athlete he once was. Knox is a major weapon, and one of the most athletic TEs in the league. We definitely do need to add a TE2, but more of a backup to Knox.
  14. When Fonzie jumped the over the shark on water skis, it was the moment that made it apparent Happy Days had no good stories left to tell and had to resort to something crazy to inject excitement into the show. Same thing when a show adds a kid to the mix after it starts to decline, but that's still "jumping the shark".
  15. We need a change in Defensive philosophy. The "bend but don't break" soft zone Defense doesn't work against top offenses with elite playmakers. Aside from Kelce's TD, I don't think Mahomes completed a pass that had a defender within 3 yards. We made his job so easy. Even when Mahomes needed a miracle, there was a guy wide open for a 20 yard gain... Twice. We can beat average teams with Frazier's D just fine, but it's not a championship winning defensive style.
  16. Titans are also in cap hell. They'll be parting with talent, not adding it through free agency.
  17. I'm sure they're doing plenty of other leg exercises during the season, so they're keeping the strength & mass up but not doing an extremely harsh exercise. I like it.
  18. It's crazy that Horrible Harry was a healthy scratch during the same season that he's playing like he is now.
  19. I live near Chicago, and the Bills are playing at Bears next season. I'll definitely go, but stories like these, and things I've witnessed between Bears fans & opposing fans, I'm probably not gonna gear up in Bills stuff. I saw a nerdy Jags fan & his GF take some horrible abuse a couple years from a group of about 10 drunk guys, they were covered in beer & food & threatened. Security did nothing despite it going on for hours, and other fans cheered it on. I'd rather just watch the game than have to fight drunk losers & get kicked out, or have one of my teen sons get sucker punched by a 35 year old.
  20. I think Minshew would be a perfect fit in our offense, and while no threat to Josh, would be an immediate fan favorite. Philly got him for a conditional 6th, they just re-committed to Hurts for next year, so they may be willing to part with Minshew for a 4th or 5th. Ideally we'll be getting an extra 3rd if Frazier becomes a HC, so a 4th/5th becomes easier to part with.
  21. Kelce is a WR. He lines up predominantly in the slot, and even out wide. He's not a TE, everyone just labels him as one.
  22. Even if this was a valid idea, McKenzie out-snapped Beasley in the Pats game. He's way too involved in the offense & ST to play defensive snaps.
  23. If you've seen Josh's 40 from the combine, it's clear he had no idea how to run a track sprint. His technique is awful & his arm movement is wacky. I doubt he trained with a running coach. But running as a QB is different. You have a ball in your hand so your arm movement is more natural, and you don't start from a stance. In that regard, Josh's speed is elite. I have no doubt he could greatly improve his 40 time by working with a track coach, but who cares about that now. Same reason you see elite sprinters in the league who aren't good football players except when they run a fly route.
  24. I'd be surprised if Mayock was retained, his draft blunders are among the worst of the modern era. I'll be surprised if he ever works in a front office again. I used to love him as a TV Draft "guru", but he's been so bad it's tarnished his image.
  25. Mills is probably a better prospect than Mac Jones at this point, I doubt Houston would even go for that. Some other team will give them the same picks the Pats would offer plus a player that's a clear upgrade somewhere for them.
