  1. This week, Settle or Oliver (maybe both) will likely be inactive, so it'll be easy for them to activate Shakir. Lawson would also be activated if it's both. Going forward though, it's likely that either a WR or RB is inactive each week. If everyone is healthy, one of: Moss, Cook, Shakir, Kumerow, or Crowder will have to be it.
  2. I think part of it is that teams try to defend him like a Tight End, which he isn't. Kelce lines up in the slot the majority of the time, he's not an in-line TE very often. If you put a LB on him, like you normally would a TE, he's too quick & gets open. If you put your Slot CB on him, like you normally would a Slot WR (and most slot CBs are undersized), he's too big & physical. The other part is he constantly gets a free release since he's in the slot. He's deadly if allowed to roam free. Solution: Put your best cover CB on him, and you can slow him down. Bump him at the line with a LB too, and now you're cooking with gas.
  3. I think the Packers might actually be done. They won't be near as bad as they looked yesterday without both OTs & their WR1, but they could be a .500 team. Rodgers body language & attitude was bad, I think he either retires after the season or forces a trade. The 49ers are in trouble if they stick with Lance. I don't see him ever becoming what they thought he could be.
  4. Champ Bailey for Clinton Portis was a similar win/win trade.
  5. There isn't much Dallas can do. When you pay elite-QB money to a QB who is not elite, and are also paying elite-RB money, you're too cap strapped for anything but the cheapest moves. They'll likely have to add a street FA or pluck a practice squad guy. No way the 49ers trade Jimmy, I'll bet they're going to need him soon.
  6. He is probably the easiest 240lb defensive player in the league to block. I'd rather have Maybin come back to play Edge than Edmunds.
  7. Hughes is supposedly starting in Houston, with Mario Addison backing him up.
  8. I wouldn't doubt it'll be Moss inactive next week & Shakir plays.
  9. The best way to take Henry out of the game is to go up by 3 scores... I'd like to see some 4-3 D on early downs with Bernard coming in for Taron.
  10. Diggs was the one coming off the field in the heavy formations, I think he only played 70ish% of the snaps. Gilliam came in for him several times, and Kumerow towards the end. Probably gameplan dependent based on opponent, and not injury related.
  11. There's no way Dorsey went into that game planning to get Moss 6 catches. Cook would've had at least 5 of those if not for coughing up the rock. And likely would've gotten 40+ yards on them. But I totally agree, too much Moss.
  12. Surprised to see Moss had 6 catches, though he didn't do much with them. I have to think Cook would've gotten some/most of those if not for the early fumble. Though Moss's fumble was worse, the Rams defender popped it out with about 1lb of pressure.
  13. Read-Option outside zone run to Singletary, Josh keeps it & runs inside for 8 yards.
  14. Hoping Flacco is just good enough for them to win 6 games. Flacco may be bad enough that the Jets are in the running for the #1 overall pick. With the non-QB talent they've added, they could turn around quick with the right QB in the draft.
  15. Yep, Gabe should break it by Week 15.
  16. I have to imagine Beane & Kromer talked about Darryl Williams at some point during preseason or after Mancz got hurt. My guess is that Kromer doesn't think he's a fit.
  17. Don't forget Mario Addison. He's currently listed as backing up Hughes in Houston.
  18. That is the best video I've ever seen on Youtube, amazing stuff. I shared with my son who is a HS QB, he loved it.
  19. I think our 10 formation will have Knox in the slot at least as much as we'll have a WR.
  20. Sweeney for me too. He's a practice squad caliber player. If they insist on keeping him, put him on the PS & there's 0% chance anybody signs him.
  21. He looks fragile as hell, that neck looks like an 8th grader's. I don't think he'll make it through the season.
  22. Well we already have 3 slot WRs, no need for another one.
  23. Mims was drafted by the prior Jets regime. He's fallen behind all the WRs the new regime has acquired & was WR7 in their first preseason game. The Jets apparently told him they won't cut him, which makes no sense to me. He's obviously not been on the field much since his rookie year, but he's got to be a lot better than the 7th best WR on a bad Jets team. I really liked him in the 2020 draft. We do have a need at backup outside WR, but I'd rather he get cut & pick him up cheap than give up a late pick.
  24. If Araiza ends up innocent, he has a major libel case over that attorney's twitter post.
