  1. The only significant injury from the KC game hopefully it isn't a long term injury as I think Brown was having a very solid game against the Chiefs (I think it is no coincidence that the ground game was less effective after he got hurt) and Brown was also coming off a very strong game against the Steelers his best game of the season in my opinion. So to have him miss time and be banged up (after missing a lot of the off-season due to injury) is a set back for him. My hope is that he maybe just misses the Packers game and comes back for a suddenly very important Jets game. That would leave Brown 3 weeks to heal from the bye to the Jets game. Certainly helps to get a week off as he certainly would have missed a game this week had the Bills not had the bye week. Luckily if Brown does have to miss a few weeks Quessenberry is a pretty good option as far as being a backup but I think for the long term play of this O-line Brown coming back sooner rather than later is best. The Bills best backup O-linemen also happens to be Brown's backup which is fortunate. However I think what is the biggest set back in my opinion is that Brown had a very good game against the Steelers and was doing fairly well against KC. So just as he was getting going after an off-season where he was banged up he gets hurt and misses some time.
  2. Thinking of it as a predetermined outcome is flawed and many fans thinking that way are holding onto something that is not really true. I think it is a solid shot the Bills win the Super Bowl last year had they gotten past KC. BUT there were two games after that KC game and it is easy to see a let down against Cincy after a highly emotional game against KC or having difficulty against Von and Darnold in the Super Bowl had the Bills gotten past Cincy. It's just far too much that would have gone on after to call anything as being what would have happened.
  3. 5-1 despite a brutal schedule AND being more banged up than this team has been since 2018. The lone loss was a 2 point loss away with a team that at one point in the game was down 6 defensive starters, three O-line players, two skill position starters (Mac and Knox), and various other role and depth players. I would say that this is about as good as you can do regarding the circumstances.
  4. The Bills hopefully will learn from last season and not have any Jags/Steelers like let downs. The Bills need to pile up wins. The margin for error is there but it is slim. With 11 games left in the season I would say that the Bills need to go 9-2 to get the one seed which with the roster and coaching the team has that should be possible.
  5. Kind of forgot about him, not a big loss Bills have plenty of Special Teams Specialists on the roster and likely will be getting Kumerow back after the bye. There were two games after the Bills played KC in the playoffs, there is no guarantee that the Bills beat KC at home let alone win two games after so I think your prediction of a likely SB championship is a bit off.
  6. Shows you the state of O-line play in the NFL that a fairly marginal player keeps getting on NFL roster decent rosters none the less.
  7. Romo is the best in the business and probably the best color guy since Madden. Nance is a very good play by play commentator among the best to do it. Both make for the best commentary team in football. I suspect the Bills will frequently have that team in the booth when the Bills play.
  8. I think for the mentality of the team winning close games against very good to elite teams (I would say Baltimore despite being 3-3 is a pretty solid team) away none the less proves something to the Bills themselves. Of course the win against KC is huge for helping put the Bills in the drivers seat for the ever so valuable one seed but beyond the positive implications for standings the Bills it really helps this team not feel so tight in late game situations knowing they have done it twice against some of the better teams in the AFC.
  9. The Bills didn't play their best game (way too many sloppy plays offensively) but they still pulled it out with a great clutch drive by Josh and a great play by the defense. Easily the biggest win of the season and it goes a long way to helping achieve the goal of the one seed. Bye week should rest up the nagging injuries and get Tre a couple weeks closer to coming back. Couldn't ask for a better game just really amazing by both teams even if both offenses had miscues.
  10. The Jets are hinging their hopes on Wilson for sure. They have some solid talent on both sides of the ball but also need a few pieces to become a more serious threat in the AFC. I agree that I am more worried about the Jets long term than I am the Fins or Pats. The Pats are well coached and solid defensively but I am just not a believer in Mac Jones or their ability to get skill position players around him. The Fins are a dynamic WR combo but Tua has serious injury concerns and might not be dynamic enough to lift the team. I also think the Fins run a bit older along the defense and Oline. The Jets still have some cap flexibility with Wilson on a rookie deal and a young core of talent. I think it is a strong possibility we are looking at the Jets as second place finishers this season and the strongest competition in 2023. Still not a threat this year but definitely a future for that team.
  11. Saffold has been bad as a run blocker and decent as a pass protector to my amateur eye test. My hope is that the interior Oline play improves as the line plays more together and in the system. Brown and Saffold had off-season injuries that limited their camp availability and Mitch also missed a game and a half in season. The Oline has also faced elite DT’s in almost every game they played (Darnold the best in the business, Simmons and Hayward are All Pro caliber talents Wilkins is a pro bowl talent the worst starting DT this team has faced has been Campbell who is still formidable). That’s not going to change this week or the week after the bye but afterwards the team sees less elite DT’s.
  12. The Jets had a strong draft and made the right decision to move on from Darnold and reset their rebuild behind a new rookie QB. I am not sure if it will pan out but philosophically they are making the best attempt. If anything they are a more watchable team than they have been and have some hope for the first time in years.
  13. Josh beat KC (on the road) in the regular season by a wide margin with a good performance. Beating KC in the regular season won’t expel the questions. Josh simply has to get it done in the playoffs in order to silence any doubt. Similar to how Peyton Manning was great and broke all the records but had the rep that he couldn’t win the big games. I think KC and Philly are the only teams with rosters remotely competitive to the Bills so it will be interesting to see how the Bills stack up against the best roster they likely will play all year. There are only 3 key players (that are not on IR) that will be in doubt injury wise. Knox, Poyer and Edumonds. I think at least 1-2 will play which leaves the team with a reasonable amount of injuries and a roster that’s pretty close to full force. I think this is the game the Dline has to show up and dominate. This is among the top 3 Olines in the NFL. The Chiefs invested a lot into that unit both with big contracts and draft picks. The Bills Dline has added Von a huge free agency addition and has seen a pair of first round picks and a pair of second round picks invested into it and they brought back Shaq and Phillips for depth and brought in on moderate contracts D Jones and Settle to get bigger up the middle and more stout. The Dline needs to show up and show out in this game.
  14. I think they get Benford, Kumerow and possibly Tre all back after the bye week. Bills really need a bye week not only for the guys who are not playing but also for the guys that are playing through injuries. The week of rest will go a long way to getting this team as close to 100% as it can possibly be at this point. Poyer, Edumonds and Knox I would lean towards playing but it is possible that any combination of them may not play. Mac definitely looks like he will be back which is a boost.
  15. I think the Bills tend to manage injuries more conservatively and it is likely they want to bring Tre, Benford and Kumerow all back after the bye and get the team as close to 100% as possible heading into the long run of the season. It is possible that after the bye this team could have everyone who hadn’t suffered a long term injury back.
  16. After missing badly on a kick in the early 40’s none the less.
  17. Eagles play in a suddenly tough division. Cowboys defense is real and their offense is getting it together despite Dak being out and the Giants are no joke both teams at 4-1. Commanders stink though.
  18. I kind of feel the same way, KC gets a shot at 3 here and the ball back.
  19. The problem with that rule is what the hell else can the defender do? He came from behind and was trying to tackle him. KC getting screwed by that call.
  20. Terrible call big break for the Raider, could be a 10 point swing as KC should have had the ball at mid field with a minute and change left and a time out. Now the Raiders get a kick.
  21. Chocking out possessions by holding the ball is a great form of defense against Mahomes (well any QB really). So far KC has only had 4 possessions this half which is great since teams average 6 each half so that’s 1 to 2 less times you hand the ball over to the offense.
  22. Great hit by that KC defender Raider lucky it bounced out of bounds.
  23. Jacobs has 69 yards on 11 carries. I have him in fantasy and he is really breaking out the past two weeks after a mediocre start to the season.
  24. Let’s say the Bills beat down Miami people would have been talking about this team going 17-0 each week as they pile up dominating wins. With one loss on the books it at least takes that element of pressure off.
  25. To me it was a depth pick short term and a possible Edumonds replacement if they can’t resign him after this season. I would have drafted Parham as a Saffold replacement and depth. When In doubt go Oline I didn’t even hate the Cody Ford pick in retrospect as I wanted the Bills to take a shot at an Oline player as opposed to a WR.
