Doug Whaley Has Landed a New Job
Magox replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was the draft that did him in. The Sammy Trade was a complete debacle and of course Manuel was a bust. Of course the fact that he couldn't sell his vision to new ownership also contributed to his downfall. He's a good guy, I wish him the best. -
Hughes hasn't gotten many sacks lately but the guy applies lots of pressures and stuffs the run well. He just needs to wrap up and finish off those opportunities, and if we can get him another effective pass rushing bookend, he will be back in double digits. He's been good for the Bills. Hopefully Shaq can become a quality contributor, I am certainly encouraged with what appears to be his commitment to the off season which often times is a prelude to higher performance.

What are you talking about? It's better to keep the Diva's, who have off-the-field issues, who underperformed their contracts/draft status, who weren't the best of teammates, who weren't the sharpest tools in the shed, who never endeared themselves to the fanbase because you know. They have Potential!!! Potential is what matters, not results!!

Sammy Watkins classes it up on his way out of LA
Magox replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess all the other true #1's in this league don't get doubled all the time despite their much better statistics. The serial habitual defenders and constant excuse givers of his failures are specially astounding given that he is quite the selfish ass. He has no personality or charisma, he's dumb as a rock, he never endeared himself to the fanbase, he was a crappy teammate, he never ever came close to living up to where we drafted him yet his defenders trip over themselves to constantly provide excuses for all his failings. Seems odd to me ? -

So what you are saying is that you really don't know Shady's persona. Because of you did then you'd know he's a straight shooter. But carry on with your crusade.

McDermott - Game Management - Improving for 2018
Magox replied to mushypeaches's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he did show that he had it in him to be aggressive. There were a number of times I remember seeing that, having said that there were times when he appeared to be conservative. To be honest with you, I think he is more on the aggressive side than conservative and I think he played to his personnel. We didn't have a good offense and there were times that we took the conservative approach simply because we weren't that competent on the offensive side of the ball and he played the numbers. Having said that, I do think he did have some questionable game decision moments and I do believe that is something that he can improve upon. Let's be real, it was the first time he had ever been tasked to call a game, he never did it in college or at the pro level, so I do see him improving on that front. -
I'm not going to call out by name because I could be wrong, but he has yet to post in this thread.

I bet I can guess who the #1 reporter of threads is.

John Miller Fully Committed to Regaining Starting Role
Magox replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never did say Miller was the better guard, I'm guessing you meant to say Ducasse. In which I'd say that Miller did play, and he played early on. Not sure if you remember but they were platooning the two for the first few games and Miller was the one who was grading out horribly and Ducasse won the job. -
The first amendment in this case does not apply. For those of you making the first amendment argument, you have no case.

Gas Prices Are Rising
Magox replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
How many !@#$ing times do I have to tell some of you nincompoops that current energy policy plays virtually no role in the price of gasoline. With the exception of shutting down refineries or oil wells it's not gonna happen. Sure, some saber rattling around oil producing countries can cause temporary spikes in the price but they always correct back down to their means. This is a retard argument for retards. -
John Miller Fully Committed to Regaining Starting Role
Magox replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never mind the fact that anyone who didn't have a preconceived view or agenda knows that Vlad clearly was the better guard in last year's system. With that said, new year, new system and I wouldn't be surprised to see Miller win the job. -
I hope that the best QB in camp wins the job and that McD doesn't sit Allen just for the sake of sitting his rookie QB. I think there is a 55% chance that Allen wins the QB starting job, a 35% chance that McCarron wins it and 10% Peterman. I don't discount Peterman because I don't think he is nearly as bad as his reputation from the peanut gallery but in all honesty, he is probably on the outside looking in. I do believe he will be given a fair chance but he faces a very uphill battle because his physical tools are the lesser of the three.

Josh Rosen already impressing in Arizona.
Magox replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not that Gunner's arbitrary timeline is of any significance (no offense Gunner, it's just an opinion), even if you were to take his words at face value that doesn't preclude the possibility of being a high end QB before 4 years. I think it is fair to assume that if Allen were to have a successful career that it would take at least 4 years to fully realize his potential. Not many QB's that I can think of hit the pinnacle of their careers in the first 2 years to sustain it for a decade plus. -
Josh Allen already impressing in Buffalo
Magox replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm going to stake my opinion here and say that Allen is going to prove to be the franchise QB that we have all been hoping for. I have said it before and I'll say it again, his floor is Blake Bortles and his ceiling is Ben Roethlisberger, maybe even higher. -

No he's not raising a reasonable question because his posting history regarding this issue points to a crusading motive. And even if the question was posed by someone else without the same history as the OP it would still be an absurd question at this stage of the game. First of all, Allen has also been very impressive from the limited accounts from journalists and coaches. Secondly and most importantly we are in the month of freaking May, the guys haven't even put on pads yet and this ludicrous question of remorse is being posed. Absurd and only someone with an agenda would pose this question as this point. -

We have ourselves a bonfide elite talent at hand, maybe the single greatest QB prospect we ever have had. The guy has bigly talent level and I'm very optimistic that he is going to turn into our franchise QB. -

Ripping 20-30 yarders. That's what he's going to do and he will be doing it in the endzone. I can't wait. -

Former Bills OC has Final Exam grades for top 6 QBs
Magox replied to racketmaster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A couple points that I'd like to make: Most reports and analysis did not criticize Allen's lack of throwing with anticipation, as a matter of fact more analysis than not mentioned that he did throw with decent anticipation. The criticism in regards to the mental aspect was that he lacks in processing the play after the snap and that he needs work with his progressions. Also Allen has excellent throwing "mechanics", however his weakness in this area are his lower body mechanics. Primarily when he needs to reset off of his first progression to the second. There is a distinction between these. -
FA Pass Rusher Ryan Russell visiting Bills

It's called competition my man. -
Ideally I'd prefer the prototype of a Maclin sort of receiver because he'd be able to stretch the field and possibly get more separation but Dez is a baller. And the sort of passer that Allen is he'd have two guys in Dez and Benjamin who would be perfect for him because these guys make catches even when they are tightly covered. Give me Dez

05-09: Bills DL Trent Murphy on One Bills Live
Magox replied to elroy16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The questions for me are: How much did the drugs enhance his performance? Can he produce at a high level again without them? And will he recover 100% from his injury. Because if he can pass all 3 of these and continue his upward trajectory then we have found ourselves one hell of a player that we will all fall in love with.
