Fantastic write up. Don't agree with everything but all-in-all it was well-thought-out.

I watched about 5 of these videos and a few others of his game tapes and there were a few things that struck me. A) His alleged inaccuracy issues are way overblown. Yes, he does tend to overshoot his short passes and swing throws but when you look at his intermediate to long passes he throws it with pretty good accuracy. B) He will absolutely scan the field while he's on the move. He always seems to have his head up and when you combine that with his aggressive desire to make a down-the-field throw with his rocket arm, I think we are in for a lot of big plays, similar to that of Ben R. C) His arm is so powerful. He's not one of those other strong armed guys that we have seen who can throw the ball a mile but really don't ever seem to zip it. This guy can throw it on a rope for over 30 yards. He makes passes in tight windows from 20 yards out that other QB's could only dream about doing. And he isn't afraid to throw it and when he does make these throws they are very accurate. He's going to make the kind of throws that we've been salivating for a long time. D) He throws over the middle. How many times have we yearned to have a QB that can throw over the middle 20 yards down the field on one of those deep slants? I know I have. And he's accurate doing it. E) His athleticism and strength is impressive. Shakes off tackles and extends plays. Even when he tucks the ball down and he has a path he can get you good yards. He just needs to not take on tacklers so much and slide or go out of bounds. Because no matter how strong he is, he'll get pulverized if he tries that **** in the NFL. As long as the Bills can sort of have a similar sort of game plan like what the Texans did for D. Watson, where they simplified it for him and had him essentially only have to read one side of the field at a time, I think Allen could come in and very well end up being the starter early on in the season. I don't want them to rush him but I just think he'll naturally win the job at an earlier stage than what most are thinking.

Bills would have “strongly considered” Mason Rudolph at 22

It appears that most paid nfl evaluators had Allen over Rosen and the sports tv ex football players favored Rosen. -

What do the Steelers know about talent evaluations? Pfff -
Pay Kelvin Benjamin or Let Him Test Free Agency

Which to me seems like the right move. Gotta see how his knee holds up and if he is able to regain his previous higher end WR play. -

Would cutting Adolphus net a comp pick? -
The word is that the Bills were in a bidding war at 7 with the Cardinals and that they both coveted Allen. Whether or not you personally like Allen is besides the point and you have to throw out the draft chart if you are going after your franchise QB, specially considering that they were trying to target him at 5. If you are going after someone at 5 and trading 2 2nds would have been a deal at that slot but now you are still targeting the same guy at 7 and now all of a sudden it's not a good "value"? That's stupid. They "overpaid" because they were about to lose him to the Cards. If you believe that you could be getting your franchise QB and you trade away 2 2nds to get him along with a 1st rounder, I would say that is not too much to give up.

RD 6, 187 Ray-Ray McCloud - WR Clemson

I don't think Biscuit really cares about high character players or culture or "trusting the process". He cares more about measurables and raw talent sort of fan. If I'm wrong, please correct me. Which is why he is not a fan of McD/Beane. I value the importance of "process", culture and character. I see it in my life, I see and have seen it in every single successful team or organization that I have been in. I just think back to my days when I played soccer in North Carolina and I was part of an all star team that played competitive state wide and national tournaments. We were 3 time state and 2 time regional champs in the years I was with them. We had been playing together for over 8 years and the whole program created a culture. A culture that demanded the players to play a certain way of controlled aggression. The players demanded it of each other, we never took practices lightly. Any new member to the team that joined felt those expectations. This is just a small example of creating a culture, god knows how much more that is magnified in the pros. To me, it looks like the Bills are drafting guys that for the most part have shown leadership qualities who are high effort. And they are selecting guys with decent to good athleticism. So it's not as if they are just selecting a bunch of high character guys with uninspiring athleticism. I like what they are doing and I trust their judgment. At least the guys now in charge have a clear and concise plan of what they want and they are executing that plan with filling the roster with their guys. I don't know if it will pan out but I'm good with what they are doing and I'm optimistically hopeful. -
RD 4, Pick 121: Taron Johnson DB - Weber State
Magox replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's encouraging. Both the DB's that this analyst/evaluator thought that helped themselves the most and impressed throughout the Senior bowl practices/game were the mid round guys we drafted. Good to see. I'm hopeful -
Welcome!!

Anybody else have faith in AJ Mccarron?

Faith? No Hopeful? Yes -
Beane not indicating Josh Allen will definitely redshirt

This is pretty much what I believed they would do, which is to have an open competition between the three QB's. Despite what everyone thinks, I think it's going to be a pretty close between them all. I wouldn't be surprised if Allen won the competition. I do believe he has been working on his mechanics and I also believe that there will be a noticeable difference in his mechanics from the time he was in Wyoming and by the time preseason begins. I also believe he is a very smart dude and will learn the playbook in short order. I also believe that the coaches will be enamored with some of the things that he can do better than the other two QB's. With that said, I still give the slight edge to McCarron. The most ideal situation to bring in Allen, from his perspective, would be after a period of games where the starter is looking lack luster. That way he's coming in as the panacea. A little less pressure. If I had to put odds on who will start the season: 50% McCarron 40% Allen 10% Peterman -
There shouldn't be an arbitrary timeline to determine when Allen starts. Don't rush him but don't hold him back either. Once he becomes the QB that gives us the best shot at winning, start him. Whether that is next year, mid year or even at the beginning.

The fallacy of Allen being the bigger "risk" than Rosen
Magox replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The character issues that have been referenced regarding Rosen have been on full display over the past couple days. He just continues to keep putting his foot in his mouth. He definitely is not a leader of men from what I can see. Plus has anyone seen how scrawny and frail he looks, those shoulders are kinda girly. He's going to get thrown around like a rag doll. -
He's a JAG We need someone with lots of speed who can separate. Doesn't have to be a precise route runner but someone with some torque and burst, preferably with length. Probably wont come this year.

Bills Will Welcome 5 New Players Today....
Magox replied to JMF2006's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm excited for today. Potentially 5 new bodies, I would be willing to bet that the Bills will draft at least 2 guys today who will see significant playing time on the field with the Bills this year. -
I do think that the defense is beginning to really shape up. The offensive line is a mess though and we still need a WR that can effectively stretch the field.

And now the plan is a lot clearer...
Magox replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No they are not. And it has been on full display over the past few days not to mention there is a reason why many qb starved teams passed on him, hell even Arizona wanted Allen over him. I read somewhere that the Bills were in a bidding war with the Bucs with the cardinals because they wanted Allen, which is why they paid a premium for the #7 pick. -
RD3, Pick 96: Harrison Phillips DT - Stanford

Will Shaq Lawson get dealt during draft?
Magox replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it is packaged along with a 6th or 7th rounder to get into the third round, then do it! I've been reading that he plans on getting in really good shape this year and maybe that will do the trick but he seems awfully slow to me. He can set the edge against the run but when it comes to pass rush, it's simply not there. Yeah yeah yeah, I know. He got a few sacks early on but most of those were coverage sacks and not sacks where he clearly beat his man to get to the QB. -
He looks frail as &@#%!
