Harrison Phillips Dedicated His 1st Sack to Pancho Billa
Magox replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One of the supposed knocks on him was that he wasn't a good pass rusher. I never quite understood that criticism of him, not only did he statistically get a bunch of sacks but I watched lots of his videos of those sacks and he would absolutely demolish his guy similar to what we just saw on this one. He has a very strong initial punch that pushes back lots of these guys and seems to have great hands in loosening himself up to get by the O - lineman he goes up against. Once again, I believe the critics will be wrong about this and he will end up being at some point in the coming years a 6-10 sack guy a year. -
Wow!! That's ridiculous on so many levels! Looked like to me he was slowing down into the only area he could have received the ball. That safety help would have picked it off if it would have led him.

Marcus Murphy: Looking Good for the 53
Magox replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't be surprise to see Shady, Ivory, Murphy and Taiwain all make the team. WIth the new special teams rules, that will favor the odds of more RB's, DB's and LB's making 53 man cuts. -
And more importantly, despite all the predictions of a 4-6 win season by most fans and NFL media experts they won 9 games to make the playoffs. Every team, every year gets good and bad breaks and the Bills got one with Dalton, but to suggest that their achievement in making the playoffs as a fluke diminishes the massive over performance they displayed last year. They were supposed to be dead in the water and a complete rebuild and lots of talk of tanking. They didn't do that, they beat good teams last year and won when they needed to put themselves in the position that they were in to get there, including the season finale in Miami. So yes, what you are doing is trolling.

Interesting Astro Tweet re: Beane

Since we're dreaming here, I think a 2019 1st rounder, Lawson and a 2020 3rd rounder would be reasonable. -

Are The Bills Mafia’s Tailgate Antics An Embarrassment?

Depends on who you are. -
Bills' 2018 Training Camp Practice Day 7
Magox replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I suspect that you would be right. The new rules it would appear are going to favor more DB's, LB's, RB's and WR's to make team rosters. -
This argument is more a matter of semantics, you can usually find the exception to the rule. Having said that, I don't buy into the philosophy that just because someone comes from an xyz system that they are not able to succeed in the pros.. However, it should be a weighted consideration when evaluating said player. How do you like the Allen pick?

Sammy Watkins classes it up on his way out of LA
Magox replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a lot of speculation going on here. What is indisputable is that the Rams let him walk while giving up a quality DB and a 2nd rounder, and then traded a first rounder to get another WR who they ended up paying more than the guy they just let walk for nothing. I think they do value a quality deep threat WR because that helps open up things underneath for them, but it takes a whole lot of spin to justify that Watkins has now been on two different teams who have seen him play up close, in practices, in the locker room who for one reason or another who have decided that they weren't willing to pay what he was wanting. Right now, the only perceived justification for signing him is his natural talent and pedigree. We'll see how he does this year with K.C, but some of us knew that the trade for Gaines and a 2nd rounder for Sammy who was going into his last year of his contract was a much better trade than many on this site. And the notion that we could have optioned him for what was it? $13M for that year was a viable option is silly. It's silly because: A) This team was never going to pay the type of salary that Sammy was going to ask for when he would become a FA. B) He wasn't worth the type of money that Sammy was going to ask for nor did they believe he was worth his Option year contract. C) He has a history of injury issues D) He was not a positive force in the locker room - that is even according to his own account. So why keep him when you don't believe he fits your long-term plans, doesn't fit the culture of a team that you are trying to build oh and has never consistently produced at a high enough level to justify the $$ that he was going to command? I just don't understand why so many on this board are willing to die on the hill for a guy who is as unlikable as Sammy. He's not just unlikable but he never did anything of consequence for the Bills. It's truly bizarre. -
Depends on how many followers they have.

Alright.... A) Mueller indicts 12 Russian operatives for election meddling, knowing that no prosecution will ever take place. Like a show vote. To buy more time for their investigation which continues to lose support by the day. B) The media cheers that they announced it right before the Summit, in their view an attempt to force Trump's hands. C) The conservative media cries foul because they believe that the "Deep state" is sabotaging Trump right before his summit in an attempt to embarrass him. D) The reality is that no such scenario took place, they informed Trump before the summit and the administration OK'd the release. Both sides were wrong. E) The media easily baits Trump with the question of whose side does he believe, Putin or our intelligence agency. F) Trump takes the bait because his ego and narcissism won't allow himself to cede one inch because if he admits there was election meddling then somehow he believes he's delegitimizing his election victory. G) The media becomes hysterical and begins to speculate and theorize with conspiracies that Putin has "something" on Trump. H) "Establishment" Republicans become conflicted because they've always been anti Russia but Trump is extremely popular with the Republican voters and most decide to speak in support of the Intelligence community and show disappointment in Trump. I) Democrats and the Progressive base find their inner Patriotism that had been lost for over a decade and begin to chant U.S.A, U.S.A and now take the mantle from the "Neocons" for being the new proponents of McCarthyism. J) Trump, flips and flops and flips and flops from what his advisers tell him to say to what his ego makes him say. Basically, Trump has made everyone go batschit crazy. A quarter of the Republican base have become pro Russia and the progressive base......well, they don't know what the hell they want aside from identity politics but they are more confused than ever aside from hating Trump.

Brandin Cooks Signs New Deal With Rams
Magox replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The true measure of Cook's success this year will be the amount of passes Robert Woods and Cooper Crupp make. -
This makes absolutely 0 sense. If Peterman wins the job it's because he won the job. No hidden meaning, no ulterior motive, no nefarious plot it simply means he won the job and that is the QB they felt gave them the best chance at winning that particular game. If he stinks it up, then they will move on to McCarron or Allen.

Personally, I don't like people who air their dirty laundry for everyone to see. She may be in the right but there are many other ways she could have handled that.

The fallacy of Allen being the bigger "risk" than Rosen
Magox replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A fallacy is not solely based off a proven fact it can also be from a mistaken belief based off an unsound argument. Semantics dude, semantics. -
