  1. How can it be anything else? #2 for me was the 49ers no punt game.
  2. Whatever it takes to win. Sometimes you need to throw it 20 times, sometimes 50. It depends on the defense and the situation. Ideally, EJ will be a guy that can do either as required.
  3. You'd think that Graham would be the odd man out based on his lack of production but this staff seems infatuated with speed and he's one of the the fastest guys on the team so it'll be interesting to see. I got a feeling it'll be Hogan that goes.
  4. This trade was made on Nix's watch. It's funny how Waley gets credit for all the good moves while Nix gets the blame for the bad ones. It's the same thing that happened when Nix took over.
  5. Well that sounds encouraging. I think Hairston is moving to guard IF he even makes the team.
  6. Thurman Thomas. Hines Ward. Me. I wore a brace and I could feel that the knee was less stable, but didn't affect anything performance wise. Actually back when I had my injury, the recommendation was 50-50 as to whether to have the surgery to replace the ligament or not. As a professional athlete though, I can't imagine not having it replaced given all the stress they place on the knee. I think that the risk of injury to other parts of the knee would be too great without it.
  7. Are you sure that they're going to give them big long term deals when they can franchise them and keep them for significantly less?
  8. Sort of. Except NO can franchise him using the current TE contracts as the basis and pay him well below is market value. I realize that this will slowly go up as the franchise tags get more expensive but it'll be well behind the actual current market value for TEs and won't do Jimmy Graham any good.
  9. I don't think I would put Dareus and Spiller in the same category as Maybin.
  10. Obviously, there aren't many soccer fans on this board. But to any sane person, the USA winning the world championship in the premium sport on the planet would be about 100x greater that a division title (are we really THAT desperate for any success that we can even compare the two?). I remember when the Bills used to turn out division titles like sausages. Now we think one is worth more than a World Cup championship? Wow.
  11. This looks like a baseball stadium. And WTH is that helicopter in the rendering? It looks like something right out of The Jetsons.
  12. Finally, someone mentions Schobel. A very, very good pass rusher forgotten on some of the worst teams in franchise history.
  13. +1 You just don't see him dominate the middle like you'd expect from all the accolades he gets. I'm sure his personality goes a long way in getting him slack. I think he's just an average to slightly above average player but people talk about him like he's one of the best centers in the league.
  14. My crystal ball says: practice squad.
  15. I think Hairston is in for a battle to make the team, honestly. I'm not sure he's recovered fully from his injury. The fact that the team is playing him so much at guard indicates to me that they're not too confident in him making it at tackle. And ultimately, it's a long shot that he's a good guard candidate. He's never played the position before and he's always been more of a finesse player. I like the guy but it's going to be tough.
  16. It's tough to hate Bryan Cox since his teams never really had any success against the Bills. He was like the heel in professional wrestling that is always antagonizing and talking trash but then gets his in the end to the satisfaction of all. He played this role to perfection.
  17. The explanation is ludicrous, IMO: "It's a one-year break, said Jaime Weston, the league's vice president of brand and creative, because the "L" isn't as pleasing to the eye. "When we developed the Super Bowl XL logo, that was the first time we looked at the letter L," Weston said. "Up until that point, we had only worked with X's, V's and I's. And, at that moment, that's when we started to wonder: What will happen when we get to 50?" X's, V's and I's are more pleasing that L's??? WTF?
  18. No biggie. The Bills don't want "choir boys" right?
  19. How anyone who watched this game can blame the offense is beyond me. How about the defense getting off the field once in a while? How many tackles did Daryl Talley, the leader of the defense, have? How many tackles did the defense miss?
  20. Ironically, having the stadium downtown usually leads to LESS traffic problems. The road infrastructure in downtown is designed to handle tens of thousands of commuters on a daily basis and what you get on game day is usually no big deal. However, I am mixed on a downtown football stadium unless you are going to try and build some kind of multi-tenant, mega complex. A football only stadium is only used for 8 to 10 days per year and it takes up such a huge footprint with parking deck and practice facilities that it basically makes several blocks of totally dead space- not really what you want downtown. Unlike the hockey arena, it's generally too big for other uses or events. Maybe if it could be wrapped effectively in retail, office, housing or other uses it could work but you'd be looking at a gigantic facility and a huge price tag.
