  1. Keep the opposition guessing.
  2. In the end, the Bills will have 7 linemen active on game days: 5 starters + 1 "swing" tackle and 1 G/C backup. If Henderson continues to improve then I think he would be a strong candidate for swing tackle. The staff seems to see Hairston as a guard now (and I'm not sure he's even going to be around with his recurring back problems) and Kouandjo has been slow out of the gate. This is a legitimate thought, IMO- especially since no one seems to be grabbing hold of the RG position. However tackles typically only get moved inside at the ends of their careers or when the coaching staff decides that they can't cut it at OT, and I don't expect them to come to that conclusion about Kouandjo until next season (at the earliest), if at all.
  3. The battle between Graham and Hogan is just beginning. It's going to last all of camp and probably be one of the last ones to be decided, IMO. Easley will probably make the team but it wouldn't hurt his cause to show a modicum of receiving skills in case both Graham and Hogan both pick up their game. It could go either way but my gut feeling, just based on this coaching staffs apparently infatuation with speed at WR, is that Graham will be the man with Hogan cut. Or, if Hogan really shows some prowess on special teams then they may keep 7 WRs and keep all three.
  4. I forgot about that one. That was really bad too although I still think the 6-3 Browns game was worse. The thing that was interesting about the Giants game was that Lawrence Taylor played for the Giants against a bunch of replacement players, which was fascinating to me- watching him crush them but then still losing the game. And John Madden laughing about it in the commentary.
  5. This may have in fact been the worst game I have EVER seen, not just a Bills game.
  6. Yup. LB is clearly the weakest group of the defense on paper. I think that they will benefit from that DL in front of them and surprise some people though.
  7. Really no surprises here to anyone following training camp so far. I am interested to see if Searcy and Bradham can keep their starting spots ahead of Williams and Brown and if the Bills end up keeping a FB at all. I'm also curious to see if the Bills end up keeping Hopkins as a kickoff specialist and if Richardson ends up making the team. I had my doubts about him after he got schooled at the senior bowl. Maybe he needs a year on the practice squad. After looking at the defensive depth chart, I honestly feel that if this team had been able to keep Byrd and Kiko had not gotten injured, the Bills would've had one of the top 5 defenses in the NFL. As it sits now, I still think they're top 10 material with the right circumstances.
  8. Well he talks the talk, but so did Wannstedt. I don't think we'll really know what we have in terms of defensive coaching until the regular season is underway. I know. What was that all about anyway? A "too aggressive" handshake?
  9. +1 That article was way too close to what I've seen so far to make me confident in doubting its conclusion that he won't make it.
  10. How can it be anything else? #2 for me was the 49ers no punt game.
  11. Whatever it takes to win. Sometimes you need to throw it 20 times, sometimes 50. It depends on the defense and the situation. Ideally, EJ will be a guy that can do either as required.
  12. You'd think that Graham would be the odd man out based on his lack of production but this staff seems infatuated with speed and he's one of the the fastest guys on the team so it'll be interesting to see. I got a feeling it'll be Hogan that goes.
  13. This trade was made on Nix's watch. It's funny how Waley gets credit for all the good moves while Nix gets the blame for the bad ones. It's the same thing that happened when Nix took over.
  14. Well that sounds encouraging. I think Hairston is moving to guard IF he even makes the team.
  15. Thurman Thomas. Hines Ward. Me. I wore a brace and I could feel that the knee was less stable, but didn't affect anything performance wise. Actually back when I had my injury, the recommendation was 50-50 as to whether to have the surgery to replace the ligament or not. As a professional athlete though, I can't imagine not having it replaced given all the stress they place on the knee. I think that the risk of injury to other parts of the knee would be too great without it.
  16. Are you sure that they're going to give them big long term deals when they can franchise them and keep them for significantly less?
  17. Sort of. Except NO can franchise him using the current TE contracts as the basis and pay him well below is market value. I realize that this will slowly go up as the franchise tags get more expensive but it'll be well behind the actual current market value for TEs and won't do Jimmy Graham any good.
  18. I don't think I would put Dareus and Spiller in the same category as Maybin.
  19. Obviously, there aren't many soccer fans on this board. But to any sane person, the USA winning the world championship in the premium sport on the planet would be about 100x greater that a division title (are we really THAT desperate for any success that we can even compare the two?). I remember when the Bills used to turn out division titles like sausages. Now we think one is worth more than a World Cup championship? Wow.
  20. This looks like a baseball stadium. And WTH is that helicopter in the rendering? It looks like something right out of The Jetsons.
  21. Finally, someone mentions Schobel. A very, very good pass rusher forgotten on some of the worst teams in franchise history.
