  1. Whaley is getting a lot of the credit that rightfully belongs to Buddy Nix, but even so he would probably be more difficult to replace than Marrone.
  2. This may be a slight exaggeration ... but I think the sentiment is spot on.
  3. Would be totally great.
  4. Woods and Glenn got their butts kicked too. Cut them as well? I agree with you about the OL coach, even though I really think the problem lies with Hackett. He seems to be learning on the job to me and that's not good.
  5. I agree with the personnel group on Urbik. I think that he can adequately man one of the guard positions if they can find a strong player at the other one. At the very least, he's a better than average backup so the idea that the Bills would trade him when OL is the worst position on the team is ludicrous IMO. The obvious conservative off season plan for OL: Do not re-sign Pears. Sign a here-to-date average FA guard with upside potential. Draft another RT/OG prospect at #2 or #3. Hope that Henderson, Richardson and Kouandjio develop. Give Chris Williams one last chance to show improvement and stay healthy. Replace OL coach. At least that would be my plan.
  6. The OL has not played well, but why is everyone's play deteriorating with Marrone and Hackett in charge? Glenn, Wood, Pears all had the worst seasons of their careers. I wonder how much of the OL struggles result from poor scheme and coaching.
  7. I was pissed too by about that point in the game.
  8. He did? That was probably one of the three worst broadcasts of the year, IMO.
  9. To remind everyone of how badly Marrone has damaged his career.
  10. If NO gets rid of Payton then teams are going to line up to get him as HC. But in the very unlikely event that he is let go and doesn't become a HC elsewhere then yes, he would be incredible as OC.
  11. I never got the impression that Ryan knew much about the offensive side of the ball. It's easy to blame the GM, but that same GM apparently got him some pretty good defensive players. I think it's more likely that Ryan knows how to get top play from his defense but not the offense. DC is probably his best destiny.
  12. I don't think too many people are scared of the Bills offense.
  13. He's basically a slightly above average QB with a massive contract. He would be an upgrade over Orton or Manuel, who are slightly below average, but there's no way he's worth his current price tag.
  14. I think he looks great as well. I wish he was a Bill. That being said, the Bills D is going to mess him up.
  15. I am 100% in favor of this and have been calling for it for several weeks now. I see no reason not to do this. Gives the defense more to prepare for, Orton is not elite so you're not going to miss a few snaps, gives EJ some live game action to help his development. It's all good. Wood-Strock took the Dolphins to the Super Bowl so it can work.
  16. Bills OL regressed across the board this season IMO. To me, that points to coaching or scheme and not individual players.
  17. I really like Summers and am sad to see him go. The FB position is just dead apparently. I don't know how you can be a power running team and not have a fullback but anyway...
  18. I'd say the Woods hit was legal and not dirty, but the Hughes hit was both dirty and illegal, IMO.
  19. Or at least an offensive assistant. It can only help.
  20. He's struggling, just like all the OL in this scheme. OL has been a linear regression since Marrone took over.
  21. Schwartz is a good DC but his record as a head coach is a lot more spotty. He may get some interviews but I wouldn't think that he'll be the favorite for any job.
  22. Refs let them play today. I like it.
  23. I still find it hard to accept that a team quarterbacked by Mark Rypien could be better than the Bills. That game should've been far closer than it was and maybe even a Bills win.
  24. Tavern on the Tracks is by far the best one. The only negative is that it's close to the football stadium and the Panthers play at home this week at 1p, which means you're going to be searching for parking. If you're willing to walk a little from your parking space you can find some free parking a few blocks away. Otherwise you can park and ride because there is a rail stop right next to the bar. Or, of course, you can pay to park.
