  1. I agree that Richardson does need to work on transforming his body in the offseason. That's nothing that can be handled right now. In the clips that I see, the are getting beat by men that they engage as well as missing stunts. So, the answer is both. I also agree that Pears's build makes it harder for him to block DTs in pass protection that DEs. Especially since he really has to engage them early instead of stepping back to form the pocket. Hand fighting is obviously not Pears's specialty. Pears is an average NFL tackle. Putting Urbik in looks like the last card that Marrone has to play so I don't know where he goes from here.
  2. The penalty that needs to be addressed is defensive pass interference. If the refs are going to call it like it's going out of style then the mark off needs to be reduced. Maybe to the college rule- spot foul up to 15 yards max. I think holding is probably fine.
  3. Universities would lose lots of $. Why would they ever support something like that? While I support the concept, it's a non-starter.
  4. Mario was the consensus #1 that year. Who said he was a joke for that pick? OGs are a dime a dozen. Just ask the Bills.
  5. Only problem was that if Sammy wasn't open Orton would've been sacked before he could go to another option because Glenn got destroyed in pass protection. Luckily, Sammy WAS open.
  6. This. He goes in as Peyton Manning.
  7. I suspect that most are, just not with the press.
  8. Would be worth watching.
  9. Except no first round pick and no QB. Sorry, I just thought that had to be added to your thought.
  10. Obviously, the good players. K Williams, Dareus, A Williams, C Glenn, etc. Buy why would they want to trade them? Makes no sense. You get rid of the guys who are not good.
  11. Miller was a great announcer, no question. When people think of Van, they think of his play calls from the Comeback game or the 77 second comeback vs Denver or Flutie vs Denver or a bunch of other games during many, many good seasons. Give the guy some love this Sunday. Murphy has been hindered a little by not having much to work with on the field, IMO. If the Bills ever do something we'll see if he can properly commemorate the moment.
  12. Me too. Maybe he was with Urbik when they ...
  13. These clips don't make the Vikings offensive line look very good in general, not just Kalil. Good news.
  14. Well he was a lot cheaper for the Jets than Watkins was for the Bills. Unfortunately for them he's not going to help too much with Geno Smith at QB.
  15. Except when the Bills made a good move. Then it was really Whaley pulling the strings from behind the scenes. You were right. If only TBD and the Bills organization would have listened to you! From now on we are going to have watch your every post with the reverence they clearly deserve.
  16. I'll admit I don't follow college football too closely, but after watching him in the Alabama game I would say that he is worth looking at for a mid-late round pick. I really liked his toughness and leadership skills in that game. He was on the burning deck the entire game and still made some big plays for Ole Miss. I wonder about his accuracy and arm strength but that will be evaluated at the combine.
  17. I don't know if you're serious, but I'd actually be in favor of platooning the two QBs. It would give EJ some reps and give the opposing team more to prepare for. The running game would benefit from the read option threat when EJ is in there. I don't think Orton is good enough that you can't take him out of the game. Maybe 80% Orton and 20% Manuel.
  18. Since the offensive development has been going in reverse ever since he took over, I am not optimistic.
  19. That kind of response doesn't really make much sense. Do you think he would've also been injured by week 6 if he stayed with the Bills or are you just being witty? If you don't think Jarius Byrd would've been useful yesterday instead of Duke Williams they you need to watch again.
  20. List of offensive players that regressed under Hacket/Marrone: Glenn, Urbik, Wood, Pears, Spiller, S Johnson, M Williams, F Jackson. List of offensive players who have improved under Hackett/Marrone: Chandler (barely). Not exactly a sign of good coaching.
  21. You need to run the ball to win games. Problem is there is 0 creativity in the running game. They plays the Bills are using don't work with the players they have but that doesn't seem to have any impact on the coaching staff's thinking.
  22. At least that's better than Chan Gailey's reactions after Wannstedt's defense got roasted week after week.
