  1. It's interesting to see that Tim Graham's projection only has the Bills keeping 8 offensive linemen. It seems crazy to me to only have one interior line backup on the roster for three positions. I'd be surprised not to see another interior guy kept even if it's not Legursky.
  2. I think that a guy on the bubble of being cut is probably motivated 24/7. Otherwise, he won't last much longer.
  3. He looked pretty good against the Bills.
  4. They need a third center option on the roster. If Legursky is cut then they'll need to keep MacPherson or teach someone else the basics of the position. Center is like QB in that you really need three options on game day, even if one is only for an "emergency". If you don't have a viable center, the game is over.
  5. If your goal is to win a championship, then an "acceptable" QB is one who can deliver this. There probably aren't more than 10 QBs in the league who can accomplish this so the list IS short.
  6. You don't learn very much as a player during these scrimmages and pre-season games. They are more for player evaluation than practice. It's like taking a test on three straight days. I'm not sure what the point of it is either.
  7. Yeah, whatever happens with Manuel it's tough to argue that the Bills should have Fitz back.
  8. Tunnels are really the best option for highways running through downtowns, which is why they keep coming up. A surface road cuts a huge swath through the city fabric and essentially destroys the area. In the 70s, the solution was skyway type overpasses but it turns out that people don't really like being under those either. Either keep the highways away from downtown or tunnels are the only two options that allow development, IMO.
  9. Right now Pears is the best RT on the team. I can't see him being cut.
  10. Hairston vs Legursky is going to be close, but Hairston's recurring back issues lead me to think that he's not going to make it.
  11. I think that Henderson will get RT looks on his way to swing tackle duty. I see Richardson pushing Urbik. My prediction: Glenn-Williams-Wood-Richardson-Pears with Urbik as G/C backup and Henderson as swing tackle. Kouandjio and Legursky round things out.
  12. I work 5 minutes walk from the stadium. During the two block walk to my car after I left work around 5:30p, I saw at least a dozen tailgate parties, including 4 or 5 in my parking lot alone. I'm not sure where you parked but there is tons of tailgating for Panthers games. Yes. Just completed it about a month or so ago. It's pretty nice and it's really changed the character of that part of town. When it was just the football stadium it would be dead except for a few days a year, but the baseball stadium and adjacent park have stuff happening several times per week. Now they're building three high rise housing buildings within a few blocks of the stadium so I think it's going to be pretty lively going forward.
  13. Actually, I think that this is probably the last chance for Lewis to make it a contest for the backup spot. The staff wants to give him a chance with the second string to see if he shows them something. If he looks bad tonight then I think the backup QB battle is over, barring injury.
  14. Exactly. Donwtown Buffalo doesn't have a parking problem. But for what it's worth, the proposal shows several new decks.
  15. I assume it's Fitz or you wouldn't mention it, but I wonder what his completion percentage is on throws over 20 yards compared to the other QBs that have worn the Bills uniform.
  16. I see him hurling things off the top of the scoreboard.
  17. I like it a lot. Now is the time to think boldly. "Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work" - Daniel Hudson Burnham
  18. Fred is getting old. CJ is misused. Brown and Dixon are untested.
  19. First of all, I don't think that Fitz would look very good in Marrone's offense. This offense is old school- run the ball with power and make big plays downfield in the passing game. Maybe some read option too. Downfield passing and read option is not Fitz's game.
  20. The only person creating a QB debate is you in your head. Tuel doing well doesn't mean that Manuel will fail, just as Tuel doing poorly doesn't mean that Manuel will succeed. The two players are unrelated.
  21. And within walking distance of the stadium if you're going to the game. The best Bills bar in town. Parking may be a little bit of a challenge during game days, however.
  22. If you're going to criticize the post, at least read it accurately. What I said was that before his interception was some of the best QB play all season. Before the int he was 9 out of 15 for 136 yards with 1 TD and 1 int (QB rating of 84.3), and had the offense moving up and down the field. How many times did the Bills have better QB play last season? You don't think that stretch was near the top? The guy was a rookie, had one start against one of the best defenses in the NFL and played pretty well for large stretches of the game. This season, he came into camp in better shape and looks better than last season by all reports. I don't really get why that's something to hate and beat up on.
  23. It just helps people feel better about Manuel. If his backup looks like he's improving and Manuel doesn't then that doesn't look good by comparison. If Manuel was playing great then everyone would be happy to see Tuel improve and it would be a sign of depth. Don't forget that his QB play up until that goal line fiasco was some of the best QB play that the team got at any point last season.
  24. I remember this game very well. It was Marino's first start of his career. It was a very exciting game and you could tell right away that the Dolphins had hit the jackpot at QB.
