+1 You just don't see him dominate the middle like you'd expect from all the accolades he gets. I'm sure his personality goes a long way in getting him slack. I think he's just an average to slightly above average player but people talk about him like he's one of the best centers in the league.

Rd7 Pick #237 OT Seantrel Henderson U of Miami

My crystal ball says: practice squad. -
I think Hairston is in for a battle to make the team, honestly. I'm not sure he's recovered fully from his injury. The fact that the team is playing him so much at guard indicates to me that they're not too confident in him making it at tackle. And ultimately, it's a long shot that he's a good guard candidate. He's never played the position before and he's always been more of a finesse player. I like the guy but it's going to be tough.

It's tough to hate Bryan Cox since his teams never really had any success against the Bills. He was like the heel in professional wrestling that is always antagonizing and talking trash but then gets his in the end to the satisfaction of all. He played this role to perfection. -
Super Bowl L breaking with tradition!
vincec replied to KD in CA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The explanation is ludicrous, IMO: "It's a one-year break, said Jaime Weston, the league's vice president of brand and creative, because the "L" isn't as pleasing to the eye. "When we developed the Super Bowl XL logo, that was the first time we looked at the letter L," Weston said. "Up until that point, we had only worked with X's, V's and I's. And, at that moment, that's when we started to wonder: What will happen when we get to 50?" X's, V's and I's are more pleasing that L's??? WTF? -

No biggie. The Bills don't want "choir boys" right? -
Ironically, having the stadium downtown usually leads to LESS traffic problems. The road infrastructure in downtown is designed to handle tens of thousands of commuters on a daily basis and what you get on game day is usually no big deal. However, I am mixed on a downtown football stadium unless you are going to try and build some kind of multi-tenant, mega complex. A football only stadium is only used for 8 to 10 days per year and it takes up such a huge footprint with parking deck and practice facilities that it basically makes several blocks of totally dead space- not really what you want downtown. Unlike the hockey arena, it's generally too big for other uses or events. Maybe if it could be wrapped effectively in retail, office, housing or other uses it could work but you'd be looking at a gigantic facility and a huge price tag.

Me too. Philly and Buffalo are about even, IMO, with Seattle a step behind. The only thing about a trio is that there aren't usually enough carries to divide by three. Only two of the backs are really going to get action and by that standard Philly is the top, IMO.

There's always some innocent explanation. No one is every really guilty. Just like in prison.

You mean that you voluntarily pay for the obligation to continuously buy season tickets.

I think that he paid for most of it actually.

""And what if Schumer woke up one morning and decided to hold hearings about the NFL’s antitrust labor exemption, a hard-to-believe nonprofit status or the FCC’s controversial blackout rules?" The NFL is a non-profit? You must be joking.

Why are there eight (8) guards on the roster - depth chart

My thoughts exactly. In fact, I'd peg things at 50-50 as to whether he may be cut. -
If you are spend that kind of money and start over don't you want something better than the Ralph? The deal was made before Ralph passed and was part of the plan to try and make a successor stay in Buffalo, at least for a short period of time. If it helps to keep the Bills in Buffalo then it will be money well spent.

I actually think it's 50-50 between Pears and Hairston. While I'm sure the coaching staff would like to move on from Pears, it's unclear how Hairston will recover from his injuries and I wouldn't be surprised to see Pears as the swing tackle with Henderson on the practice squad and Hairston cut. -
I had heard this interview before. I don't disagree with anything he had to say. It would just have been nice to hear Miller's voice during that legendary season instead of Rick Azar.
-
With all due respect to John Murphy, Van Miller IS the voice of the Bills. Sad that he missed those OJ years in the 70s. I wonder what he would've done with OJ's record season?

I think it's a realistic possibility. They have a decent team around him. The best team he's been on. -
Report: Bills attempted to trade up for Carlos Hyde
vincec replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
a) I suspect that it's Jackson that they are trying to replace. If they wanted to get rid of Spiller they would've traded him to the Eagles when they were interested. b) Anyone who thinks that Spiller is a bust should have the misfortune of seeing him in an offense like Philadelphia's. He would lead the league in rushing and people at TBD would be crying. -
FWIW Bill Polian wasn't too keen on part of our draft.

Thomas never had surgery but he still had a ruptured ACL. He just elected not to have his knee reconstructed. The outcomes of that surgery back then were less predictable than they are now. He played his career without an ACL and with a brace. I would say that's more iffy than the situation with Kouandjio. -
He's going to be fine. He obviously isn't going to fit everyone's offense but if Kyle Shanahan's is anything like his father's then he's a perfect fit in Cleveland. Mobile QB with a strong arm, high accuracy and excellent competitiveness. That sounds a lot like RGIII, Cutler and Plummer. They are going to use his mobility and play action passing. They will need a running game to make it work however, so that will be key.
