Personally, I'd rather draft talent for Pettine to work with, who has shown that he can get good value from his players, than Hackett.

I like the idea of picking up a FA wide receiver a lot, and using the #1 pick on a WLB (maybe even MLB and move Kiko to WLB). Buy why over Stevie? How about with Stevie instead so we aren't just filling up a barrel with a hole at the bottom? How about Darrius Heyward-Bey or Josh Cribbs? Those guys always impressed me as having big play potential.

The situation is pretty cut and dry to me. Bills will try to sign Byrd long term, if the can't the will tag him and then try to trade him. If they can't arrange a trade at that point then he will walk at the end of next season (for nothing) with no third franchise tag. I suspect that the Bills will offer more than they did last season but still less than what Byrd is asking and not make him the top paid safety in the league. I think that the most likely outcome is tag and trade, but I would not be surprised at all if they ended up signing him to a long term deal. Obviously, it would be best for the team to have him out there as he is unquestionably a top 5 safety, at least.

I'd go with this. The chances of making a 55ish yard field goal with the ball being spotted under these conditions seems pretty remote to me. The screen seems more likely to work especially if you can actually fool the 3 DL and get most of the opposing DBs on the other side of the field. If the X receiver let's himself get taken inside and then takes out the MLB you can run a quick screen to the RB on that open side. The 3 DBs on the 3 WR side are out of the play and if you can fool the DL, especially the RDE then they are out of the play too. The MLB is blocked by the X or if necessary one of the OL, so that leaves your other 4 OL vs the 3 safeties downfield.

54 pages and counting on Da'Rick Rogers is pretty impressive. By comparison the other players threads on page one: Dareus- 2 pages, Kiko- 2 pages, Nickell Robey- 3 pages, Byrd- 3 pages.

It's strange to see Byrd in there honestly. He didn't play the entire season, has 4 ints and 45 tackles. Not earth shattering numbers. It's pretty much based on reputation.

Chip Kelly looks like a coach who took over a 4-12 team and is about to make the playoffs with them in his first season. Also, he was hired for his "offensive genius" and he has the number 2 offense in the NFL, so at this point he look A LOT better than Marrone. Marrone seems closer to Greg Schiano than Chip Kelly.

I'd like for the Bills to try and keep him as a rotational player who still has a high upside. Offer him a contract similar to Branch's.
