  1. Chan always could coach offense. It's the rest of what you need to do as a head coach that he failed at.
  2. As long as you are comfortable losing out if anything happens to Manuel then I guess that's OK.
  3. It has to be Legursky or Kolb. Personally, I'd vote for Kolb.
  4. Seems like BS to me. No link was posted and I can't find one anywhere online.
  5. Take if from somebody who watched David Carr during his time in Carolina. He really, really stinks. The Bills would be better of with Leinart or even John Beck. Honestly.
  6. I don't know what the big suspense is. Whoever practices as the #1 QB the week leading up to the Pats game will start. If Manuel is back and 100% I'm sure that this will be him. Otherwise it'll be Tuel (although there will probably still be posters who think it's a ruse and that Manuel will walk out of the tunnel instead).
  7. Something tells me that this won't be a problem.
  8. I'd really like to see those stats and hear your argument because the Bills pass defense got roasted over the last 8 games. It would be very surprising to find that they had a "Revis like" CB in the secondary during that time.
  9. Exactly. You don't run on your hands do you? I think that you are vastly overestimating the talent in the secondary. I would say that the Bills have 1 average starting NFL corner (Gilmore) and the rest of the CB candidates are below average to poor.
  10. This is awesome. He certainly looks like he'll fit in with the Bills.
  11. Pass rush was fine. If they had gotten any sort of remotely decent coverage in the secondary it would've looked even better. Washington didn't blow many assignments on blitzes so it took two or three of seconds for the rushers to get to the QB. That's all their receivers needed to get wide open. Pass protection wasn't that bad either. Kolb made it look bad by continuously panicking during all pass plays. Running game was bad. Spiller made some plays on his own early but the other less talented players were stonewalled. Absolutely no holes. Run defense was terrible. No penetration. DL got pushed back. Cutback lanes were wide open. Poor tackling. The gamut really. All in all it looked VERY similar to last year's team except with worse QB play.
  12. Kolb is The Cooler. His new nickname.
  13. This is depressing. What are the chances of beating New England with Tuel, Lienert or Beck at QB? Maybe Manuel comes back but I doubt it. They CAN'T rush him. He's got to be 100% healthy with a full week of practice. This would be his first NFL start after all and they don't want to get him crushed right out of the gate.
  14. Let me see how they look vs the Pats in week 1, then I'll tell you.
  15. Chan says that he's had coaching offers (as an assistant I assume) but he is "sitting 2013 out" http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2013/1/22/3892690/chan-gailey-sitting-out-2013
  16. What in the world makes you think that the players are any good? What have they produced? How many good defenses have they been a part of? What are their statistics that stand out? Do you have any evidence at all that they are good except your opinion? Is it because many of them are high draft picks? That doesn't mean anything. As many high draft picks fail as succeed. Bashing Wanny and praising Pettine is easy but last year on this same board they were praising Wanny. It's what they do on the field that counts. That's the point.
  17. First if was all Edwards fault. Then it was all Wannstedt's fault. If they stink under Pettine will it FINALLY be time to blame the players?
  18. Nice. 5 threads on the same subject in 5 minutes. A record?
  19. How about I let Coach Marrone explain it to you: "The problem I have is again a lot of it is how he comes back and again there goes the variable thing, when he comes back, did he miss time? No one ever really start off where they left off." In other words, he will need time after he returns to get back into form. So if he can't practice until the week of the Pats game then how can he possibly be ready by game time?
  20. Just so I'm clear, you guys think that the Bills will name a rookie QB who has played in 3Q total of preseason games, is coming off an injury and hasn't practiced in two+ weeks the starter for week one? Right.
  21. He is missing all the practice time for three weeks plus 3Q minimum of game time vs starting opposition. That represents as much game time as he has to date. So yes, it's significant despite attempts to minimize it. It may not mean much over the course of his career, but he will certainly not be ready for game 1.
  22. A serious response to the OP would be that his play improved the more he played. He was playing backups by that point but so was EJ. What he needs are reps and he'll get them now. He's not a long term solution but he will almost certainly be the guy for game 1.
  23. Well, it's Kolb's team now for better or worse. We'll probably see Manuel again a few weeks into the season. Manuel needs all the reps he can get to get ready. They would never "shut him down" like this unless there is something to it. Given his lack of practice time it'll be Kolb for week one (unless he is hurt too). Maybe Manuel comes on after a few games when he has a chance to get back into things.
  24. It was the play he got sacked. I saw him hobbling off and at the time thought it might be an ankle.
  25. Honestly, what has Rogers shown that would lead you to believe that he is worth keeping? Maybe practice squad but even that is no lock IMO.
