  1. I agree. Although there isn't much that you're likely to get from a late round pick.
  2. It's strange to see Byrd in there honestly. He didn't play the entire season, has 4 ints and 45 tackles. Not earth shattering numbers. It's pretty much based on reputation.
  3. If there's a game to play, then there's only one way to play it.
  4. I didn't realize he'd been there for three full seasons. He is toast.
  5. Why do people think Munchak is going to be fired. Wasn't he just hired? No grace period?
  6. He's probably better than Pears so it would be an upgrade, but probably a marginal one.
  7. So the point is that Chip Kelly got lucky and Doug Marrone didn't? Right. Keep telling yourselves that.
  8. Chip Kelly looks like a coach who took over a 4-12 team and is about to make the playoffs with them in his first season. Also, he was hired for his "offensive genius" and he has the number 2 offense in the NFL, so at this point he look A LOT better than Marrone. Marrone seems closer to Greg Schiano than Chip Kelly.
  9. I'd like for the Bills to try and keep him as a rotational player who still has a high upside. Offer him a contract similar to Branch's.
  10. Marrone has looked like an inexperienced first year NFL head coach to me. He has a long way to go and these days teams don't give you the time to learn on the job. He may work out... at his next coaching stop.
  11. Whose "expectation was a Super Bowl run"? That is ridiculous. Miami hasn't even made the playoffs in 5 seasons and has a second year QB. After a strong start, the expectation was that they would completely tank after the bullying scandal which, besides the locker room turmoil, cost them the left side of their offensive line. Instead Philbin stabilized things and has them one game away from making the playoffs. I think he's done much better than most coaches would've in that situation. And yet, for all that they are one game away from making the playoffs while the Bills with their season sweep and thumping they gave them last week and great draft are on their way to the golf course again.
  12. I am interested in seeing how he Bills defense hangs with the Pats, but the Bills offense and special teams are no where close to the level they need to be at to beat New England on the road. NE 34 Bills 17
  13. Or Joe Philbin. If Miami wins this week and makes the playoffs he could be a coach of the year candidate IMO.
  14. Exactly. It's no coincidence that several guys are having career years on defense: McKelvin, Hughes, M Williams, A Williams, K Williams along with outstanding rookie contributions from Alonso and Robey. Even guys like Lawson and Branch are playing as well as they ever have.
  15. He should though. He has not been very good vs there run and he is certainly not better against it than Branch. So if Branch plays on run downs and Hughes on passing downs, where does that leave Carrington? Depth?
  16. So Fitz played most of his time in Buffalo with no running game and under constant pressure? I guess I need to go back and look at the film. I seem to remember that he was one of the least sacked QBs in the league with one of the most explosive running attacks. I love hove people constantly look for excuses for Fitz in every post they see, even when the thread or the post wasn't about him.
  17. I agree with Sullivan 100%. At this point Lewis is a marginal NFL backup. If the Bills work with him then he may develop into a solid backup in a couple of years. If they want a good backup next season then they should bring in a FA and bump Lewis to #3. Also, a veteran QB on the roster certainly couldn't hurt Manuel's development.
  18. I wonder who could possibly look good: 1) under constant pressure 2) playing with no running game to keep the defense honest 3) with his receivers dropping passes 4) in the freezing rain 5) dealing with the noise of a hostile crowd ?
  19. Jimmy Johnson once said: "I can't be writing what the rules are because my rules vary from player to player... In Dallas we had a linebacker named John Roper who got cut for falling asleep in a meeting. If Troy Aikman fell asleep in a meeting, I'd go over and whisper, `Wake up, Troy.' " I suspect that given the season that Dareus has had he's already gotten a lot of leeway for whatever has been going on.
  20. The continuous see saw between offense and defense has been a Bills storyline for a long time. When is the last time they had both a good offense and a good defense? 2001?
  21. Carrington is important for the teams DE depth. He will get his snaps and he is a better pass rusher than Branch. He can contribute and honestly, with the injury, he will not command a big free agent contract.
  22. I'm surprised at how confident the Dolphins fans (and others) seem to be that this will be an easy Miami victory. Miami is not exactly a perennial powerhouse and this is a road game against a division opponent that beat them in the first meeting, so my money would be on a close, down to the wire type game.
  23. lol. How about Richie Incognito? The whole bullying scandal couldn't have come at a worse time for him heading into free agency. I wonder if anyone picks him up?
  24. Out for tomorrow.
