  1. He just isn’t good at evaluating talent. Never has been. He got lucky with Brady in more ways than just Brady’s talent. Brady buying into Belichick’s “my way or the highway” mentality is what made the other players fall in line. Brady’s talent and leadership are what won all those rings. Not Bill.
  2. I am holding out hope that a new offensive coaching staff can help unlock the potential Ford flashed his rookie year at times. I know the flash were brief, but many of us felt a transition to guard would benefit Cody and the team. If he is healthy and has embraced the role, we could see that he can be an adequate guard in the league. Let’s give Kromer a chance, if he can’t maximize Ford than I guess Cody’s only shot is a change of scenery for any chance in the league.
  3. Not sure Beane can flip Ford for a pick in this draft. I could see the Bills picking an IOL in this draft and then “show casing” Ford in preseason for hopes of getting something for him in 2023. This is Beane’s compensatory pick approach. Stock pile olinemen because you can never have enough and someone always needs one.
  4. The one thing I learned last week was the Bills have allocated roughly $2.5 mil for Bates. This happens when you tender a player an offer. If Bates signs someplace else that money gets added back to the Bills cap. Maybe one of those positions then gets addressed. I think the draft is also a place Beane feels very comfortable addressing IOL and CB.
  5. Pickens is an amazing talent. As a UGA fan we got glimpses of what he could be between injuries and other issues. Not sure I would taking him in the first round, but someone might. He has the skills to be a round one pick. Right after the season I was thinking he might be a second or third round pick that would be a steal.
  6. Yep and Beane doesn’t strike me as the kind of GM to give up a valuable draft pick (rounds 1-5) for someone who has a 50/50 shot at being a FA.
  7. OP have you already started looking for a new team to follow since your beloved Chefs appears to be showing signs of breaking up?
  8. The only thing worse than not having a QB is thinking you have one when you don’t.
  9. Go back and watch the last two plays Hughes was half a step from getting to Mahomes on one of the plays…Miller gets there.
  10. Never happens if Von is the DE over Hughes
  11. If Beane did this I would trust his plan.
  12. Doesn’t seem like a move a team would make who could just plug any receiver in and be the same as it was with Hill.
  13. Wait a minute, there is a KC fan who posts here who told me the salary cap is irrelevant and you can just keep kicking the can down the road. I think you can do that as long as you want to with the players you deem it necessary for. Sounds like In KC’s case they decided Hill just isn’t worth it.
  14. The thought is that Beane and McDermott might feel they can find and coach talent in rounds 2-7 that is good enough to win with at CB. CB is the one position I have little concern Beane and McDermott will get right.
  15. KC saw the writing on the wall with Hill. I said it in one of the threads a month or so ago that Hill's only asset is his speed. He does not have great hands or a diverse route tree. He also does not strike me as the kind of player to work hard at developing other aspects of his game. His body already started showing signs of wear and tear last year. Good move for KC in the long run, Miami will appear to get the better end of the deal for the first half of 2022. I always trust a well-run organization over one that hasn't been run competently for years.
  16. Well if the Phins are even with the Pats then they are leaving them behind. Belichick is a below average drafter. Wheels come off in NE for good next year.
  17. Yep, and what bothers Beane is the personal relationships he has with the people at Washington. I am getting the picture that Beane is a very genuine person. I don’t think you can ever grow past feeling hurt when someone you like and trust does something unethical.
  18. Yep, the year after the Panther’s Super Bowl visit they let both corners leave in FA. Carolina then drafted three corners (2,3,5 rounds). I expect something similar this year for the Bills. McDermott has proven he can coach up the defensive backfield. The Bills might sign a vet or two but will happen after draft and/or will not be players we get excited about.
  19. This is exactly the type of guy needed to split reps with McKenzie. Perfect replacement by Beane. The contract is amazing. One year deal, see what happens.
  20. Do you have a case of the Mondays?
  21. Yea, hopefully Moss gets on the Singletary off-season routine and comes in looking ready to go. Hopefully this will allow Beane to take a smaller quick back in the later rounds.
  22. Yea, and it is the one position on the entire team that I think McD, Beane, and the rest of the staff can find and coach up a player through the draft. They will have the rookie ready. Look at White, Jackson, and Wallace. All played their rookie year and played pretty good. Jackson and Wallace were not high draft picks. I expect at least a first or second on CB.
  23. If McDermott is then I am.
