  1. Past hour
  2. Nice try but if you recall Bernard was injured and missed most of that preseason. Quite different than guys sucking. And the Bills D still played ok in preseason not anything like this years version. Not saying it means anything about the season just that is much different than the S problems this year.
  3. Great choice. Are you only subscribing for a month? There are a lot of great shows on there.
  4. Oh no! Perhaps the democrats have a few too many Roundy’s, C-Sections, and Redhawks extolling their virtues. Oh well.
  5. I do think McD hasnt been shy with run blitzes in the past because they are so small. I think i remember this particularly being a strategy against the Ravens in like 2019. I agree about concerns with the new line starting out against the Ravens. I really wanted that game after the suspension were up. Hoecht in particular plays a physical style that would be good against the Ravens. Hoping Sanders and Walker really get their anchors sorted cause Ravens will def try to play bully ball.
  6. I mean, yeah that would be a much better player
  7. Yeah theres been a bunch of stuff out about this. They even showed us the artificial light they use to supplement the sun. It reminded me of a tarp, but a few foot above the turf. Covered the entire field, and has state of the art bulbs that produce exactly the right UV rays to keep her healthy. Cool AF, and soooo far away from a cost efficient surface... a sign we arent cutting corners, and are really building (another) state of the art facility
  8. Hence the need to be creative. My point on sending pressure is just as much about run blitzing....not letting blockers get to the second level. If that happens this year, our 2ndary will get bulldozed. TFLs are gonna need to be there. I'm not looking forward to that 300 lb. FB and Henry on week 1. I do believe we've upgraded on the line, just not sure how that's gonna start out. If we built a line like the Giants did, I would think different.
  9. the first few years, the first McDermott era had many core special teamers at skillset positions. every year we lose like 1 of those spots. i am curious how many core ST'ers we keep this year. Do we keep a Hollins core ST WR? Shenault can return but hasn't been a bright spot. Davis won't play ST. Shavers may make it on this opportunity alone.
  10. Very true statements. When we blitz, or when mahomes knows buffalo is in man - he has consistently hurt the team scrambling. It's getting pressure through the DTs, and proper containment and clean-up from the edges. He makes mistakes when under pressure, and usually when he can't buy time.
  11. Insane take. We are one of the deeper teams in the NFL. Can our FULL 2nd team, compete with another's #1 team (young, talented team, led by one of the hottest coordinators turned HC, in Ben Johnson) ? No they can't. All reports were we beat dat ass in joint practice, and we were not going to that pre-season game to put a single thing on tape. BJ & the Bears, were in the opposite position. Am I ecstatic about that game? No. There are concerns, as all teams have. A pre-season game, at the end of a tough few days of joint practices, does not mean we lack depth. This is a pure doomer post trolling at worst, or insanely naive at best.
  12. Just came here to say this. Here's the comments McD made about the MLB spot aimed at Bernard almost exactly 2 years ago.
  13. Sir, this is a Wendy's - real commentary on turf vs grass is not what this thread is about. (you bring up a good point and they should push for grass everywhere)
  14. You can write a dissertation as long as you want. And you can twist things as much as you want. You know exactly what I mean about our WR's. They are medicore, at best. I've said that about 400 times. FACT: This great offense failed again, when it had the ball last in the playoffs, and once the 1st round pick (and another mediocre pass catcher) failed to make a slightly above average play after Allen performed heroics just to get the ball near him. Why didn't he make the play you ask? Because he isn't/wasn't quite as athletic or coordinated enough to make a catch like that. 1st round pick. Failed when it counts. That lofty #1 ranked offense mattered 0%, because when it comes down to it, he wasn't good enough to make a play in a real pressure situation. AKA, mediocre wins you a 1 pm game against the Saints that we sleepwalk through. That mediocre talent fails to deliver in crunch time in big playoff games where the other team has star players. See also.....our defense. You defended, not me, Josh Palmer as a #2. He wasn't, but he did have a chance to step in when some Chargers got hurt. You tell me.....what do these stats tell you? 2024 39-584-1 2023 38-581-2 2022 72-769-3 2021 33-353-4 Those numbers SCREAM #4 on a lot of teams. A lot of teams concentrate on the offensive side of the ball. So, what about that year where he caught 72 balls? Well, he sucked the next two years again. A logical conclusion can be that he just kind of sucks. Another logical conclusion could be that he isn't good enough to capitalize on the 72 catch season because he isn't good enough. And the last logical conclusion could be that the Chargers know he sucks because they couldn't keep him elevated, for whatever reason, and keep him as an ascending player. He was painfully below average for 2 consecustive years after his solid year. One solid year, not great, but one solid year. How about Mack Hollins, the biggest and most overrated player since Da'Rick Rogers here (whatever his name was). Supposedly a big loss right? Or should I have used Martin Nance from yesteryear as well? He has stunk his entire career. SCREAMS 4th wr. Actually, as a WR, he screams that he should be waived from the NFL. He was even watched out the door in Orchard Park when the Bills love mediocre WR's and special teams guys. He was signed to a very modest contract in NE that we certainly could have matched here to keep him if we wanted. But hey, he's funny and a good guy because he cooks and walks around barefoot I guess. He actually stars in that stuff. The wrong stuff. 2024 31-378-5 2023 18-251-0 2022 57-690-4 2021 13-223-4 2020 16-176-1 2019 10-125-0 Should I go on? Because it doesn't get much better. And Hollins put up 31-378-5 with the best QB in the league. And then, to boot, the Bills let him go, for the collection of new stiffs that exist now. Shakir could be a beast if he didn't have to be the #1 guy on this team. The rest of these guys.....meh. Hell, that's why Gabe Davis is back in town. Allen is the Porsche at the dealership with a bunch of 2017 Nissan Altima's 200 feet away at the used car section of the lot. Everyone knows it. And it's the same philospjy this year as always. Tell Josh not to be the hero.....when your roster sets him up to have to be the hero. Stats don't tell the entire story. However, they do indicate a lot. And for whatver reason our WR's don't have any stats to be proud of, they don't have any for a reason. Most of the time, it's just the fact that you kinda suck. Our WR's outside of Shakir kinda suck. All of them except Shakir, and Coleman who only gets a pass because he's only in his second year. But he certainly didn't do anything yet to put away the myth that we have no clue how to develop and draft NFL caliber WR's.
  15. Just throwing this out there, based on my previous car hunt.... Consider a Honda Ridgeline. It's a pickup, but the drive train is more car-like, a smoother ride. That was a consideration for me due to having a bad back. Better gas MPG than the Tacoma, for sure. EDIT: I just Googled and Honda is offering 0.99% financing. Good deal.
  16. Agree with everything you said, but why confuse others with facts?
  17. It popped into my head when coach called out Bishop that this situation is eerily similar to the situation with TB in 2023. Joe Marino confirmed it with todays podcast. TB turned out fine, hopefully Cole does too.
  18. There are some pretty obvious reasons why not to do that though. Good QBs are very good at beating the blitz cause they can sniff it out and there are less players in coverage. This is why the Eagles didnt blitz once against Mahomes. Additionally, when the Bengals were able to to styme the Chiefs in the second half of the 2022 AFC Championship game, it was because they only sent 3 man pressures. All that said the bill have been sending more pressure and playing more man both at the end of last season and this preseason. We just arent very good at it (yet).
  19. Name one. This year like every one falls on McD. There will be no assistant for a fall guy this year.
  20. I think Hancock was an attempt there. Same with Hardy a year ago. Like you don't need to be a big guy to be a nickel - but you do need to be able to tackle well. Cam lewis tackling has always left a lot to be desired, and i'd feel even worse having him at safety for an extended stretch.
  21. What is Babich's style or tendencies?
  22. I'm waiting for all five episodes to be available, then I'm going to binge watch it. After that, I'm going to watch The Wire.
  23. I promise you there have been specific differences between the way Leslie called the D, the way McD called the D and the way Babich has called the D.
  24. I thought it was Frazier but guess I'm wrong. I've been sick of the tired old rush fo only crap for years. It's simple math. 4 rushing 6 (TE also maybe chip from back) does not seem difficult. No wrinkles ever. No new, ahead of the curve things ever. Same old 90's Dave Wannstendt (sp?) defense....and don't give me the learned under June Jones crap. If I'm running the D, I'm sending someone on every play. Base 4-3.....take turns sending a LB. A 5-2-4 if I can play man and even in nickel, I'm sending somebody. Will we ever see any innovation?
