One Thing No One Is Talking About Regarding Last Night's Game
blacklabel replied to MPL's topic in The Stadium Wall
I dunno what youse guys are yappin' about. There was a game? What is this "pre-season foosball" you speak of? I know nothing of the kind. I have toddlers. All I know is Bluey and Super Simple Songs and Lingokids and Booba and, the absolute worst of them all... Steve and Maggie. Dang youse, scuba Steve. -

Well, the Bills have lost two "important" games these past 2 weeks. The Bills 2025 season is officially over. So, it's either baseball (Yankees of course) or talk Sabres hockey -

Does there need to be a rethinking of the basic D?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think you can play bend but dont break - but you need to be able to have the aggressive defense in your back pocket. Defenses keeping things in front of them gives you more chances for turnovers, penalties, sacks, and other types of drive killers. What Buffalo needs to better prepare for is the changeups - the mahomes/reid tricky looks, the power run game of baltimore, etc. -
For what it's worth....that was an INT he had. It was clear on the replay. Of course the refs decided to....you know

Right. It was meaningless game with depth players, vanilla play calling and a vanilla D scheme. -

It actually IS true. The money doesn't matter. Have you seen the Eagles books? Here's an explanation: -
I have pets and gardens that I need to tend daily, so I don't really take long vacations, especially in the summer, so I frequently take day trips to places fairly near by. My all-time favorite WNY day trip destination is Letchworth State Park, which features "The Grand Canyon of the East": Letchworth. Other day trip destinations in the Genessee Valley are Canadaigua on Canadaigua Lake with the beautiful Sonnenberg Gardens (Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion Historic State Park) as well as Genessee Country Village (GCV&M) in Mumford, NY, off the Thruway at Exit 47. Living in Jamestown, I live in a great day trip destination for WNYers. Jamestown has the National Comedy Center as well as the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum right in downtown. Within a half hour drive of downtown Jamestown is Chautauqua Institution, Panama Rocks, Midway and Long Point State Parks, the quaint tourist town of Bemus Point, and the Bemus Point-Stowe Ferry (Bemus Point-Stowe Ferry) which operates Friday through Sunday through mid September. Within about an hour's drive is Allegany State Park, the Allegheny Reservoir, Kinzua Dam, Seneca Allegany Casino, and the ski/tourist town of Ellicottville. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can wander the roads of Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties from Clymer to Randolph north to South Dayton and Conewango to shop at Amish businesses. What are some of your favorite day trips for WNYers?

One Thing No One Is Talking About Regarding Last Night's Game
MikePJ76 replied to MPL's topic in The Stadium Wall
their season is probably going to come down to what happens with the four games vs Boston this weekend and then ultimately how well they play against the orioles. Baltimore might decide the east. NY has 7 left with Boston and 7 left with Baltimore. They also have 7 left with the white sox and 3 vs washington. If they can get 3 of 4 vs Boston anything is possible for this season. -
THIS BILLS TEAM NEEDS TO WATCH ROCKY 3 NOW!!!!!
machine gun kelly replied to HailMary's topic in The Stadium Wall
To all my love slaves out there, …Thunderlips is here, in the flesh, babyee. The ultimate male vs. the ultimate meatball. My favorite Rocky other than maybe 2. You mentioned the first fight, but you didn’t mention the second where he puts him down in 3. Guys, we started almost no starters other than Bishop, and yeah he was awful. Don’t forget Marv avg. 1-3 in all his preseasons. We won’t learn anything in Tampa either. They cared more about resting even the slightest banged up to be ready week 1. Josh hasn’t even seen the field in a PS game. Hey,if we suck week 1, then there is cause for concern. -
If you are cutting Hamlin, do it now...

The Bills drafted a player and signed a more athletic player in Forrest so would a undrafted player be better than Hamlin? -
Does there need to be a rethinking of the basic D?
Mat68 replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Putting the guys fighting for roster spots in sink or swim positions. Yes, they wanted the players to rise to the moment and win the game. More importantly they know what they have and dont have in some players. At this point that is more important. -
I don't know why you're equating scheme to "toughness", but okay. I'm no huge McD fan and I've been on the record saying I'd be okay with moving on for an offensive minded head coach but I don't think his coaching style is making players soft.

Injuries happen - but the player you see today isn't the player you necessarily see tomorrow Bishop - Mistakes happen, in that situation it was a misstep on a switch release that he bungled. Should NOT have been a TD either wya. Tre - he's always been a good zone defender and tackler. You also have hairston available down the line if he isn't up to snuff. Screens - This is often cleaned up in the film room -

Still Dart is going to have to show it in a regular season game. But I do think he has a good chance to be the backup to Wilson this year. -

Yup. Play not to lose instead of playing to win. Most if not all dominant defenses throughout nfl history have been attack style defense that dictate the game of play and disguise coverages. That is how you limit great qbs and force them into making mistakes and getting them out of rhythm . This bend but don’t break, prevent, complimentary football crap is beyond infuriating. In all my years of watching football I have never seen a team so consistently give up 3rd and longs for a 1st down. I use to love dick lebeaus style of defense. You never knew what was coming and when. -
It was Cover 1. It’s very clear on film. Watch Dorian Williams. One back set and Williams attacks down hill on the RB when he releases to his side. Andreessen doesn’t have his head on a swivel pinching down on the strong side 3 WR set because in Man on a one back set he is responsible for either the QB or the RB depending which side the RB goes. Williams takes the back and Andreessen locks onto the QB. Hamlin is 25 yards deep keeping everything over the top of them while the rest of the DBs are pressed up. The only thing interesting is it looked like they decided to switch off(Banjo it) between Bishop and the other DB. There is no way that that was some coverage

Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MikePJ76's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tough matchup for a young player against a PA heavy offense. He failed his test - but its also a glorified bad practice. It's not like any film study went into it. I'm not going to just assume he can't play based off of a bad game. -

GASabresIUFan replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
The melt down on this board over a pre-season loss to the Bears would be sad if it wasn't so funny and misplaced. They lost last year 33-6 to the Bears. Didn't we go 0-4 one year in preseason and play in the Super Bowl. Let me know how they do when the starters play. -

Beane has let both Ragland and Basham go after just 2 years. Both were second round picks. Not saying it’s going to happen, but Beane is willing to let guys go if it’s clear they aren’t going to help.
