  1. Past hour
  2. I thought I'd go with Fitz ... He went to Harvard ya know. The problem with Fitz though is that it seemed wherever he went as a backup, the starter got injured, so not wanting Josh to get injured I'd have to go with Bledsoe. Our line is good enough to protect the statue that was Bledsoe and he was pretty good at throwing it.
  3. I’m a huge Allen fan but nobody is like Jordan was. Jordan was the most competitive person ever. No one comes close. David Blaine was trying to do a card trick with him and Jordan tried to cheat with that because he didn’t want to get fooled on a stupid card trick. Yeah Jordan would make stuff up because that who he is. Most of the guys are competitive but not to Jordan’s level.
  4. This entire 2-down/3-down back argument is the fanbase grasping at straws to try to devalue him after being offended by some innocuous posts on social media Doesnt make any sense for anyone who has watched him play, saw his performance last year, and still wants to comment on what he brings. Like I pointed out up-thread, he was still the most productive/used player outside of Josh. No one else comes close to his number of touches. Regardless of what downs they came on.
  5. I am not using placebo effect in its medical sense. It now has an accepted wider application for analogous situations where a percieved effect is bigger than the reality.
  6. I have a questions. In this post you replaced everyone with someone on the roster and I agree with most of it. The only person you didn't/couldn't replace is Diggs. Isn't that a huge loss when comparing the 2 seasons?
  7. I use to spend a week in Kincardine Ont. every summer, Niagara Falls and Toronto routinely, until I was banned. Their loss, I spent a lot of money there. But seriously, their problems started before Trump. If it takes scapegoating him to feel better about themselves than looking in the mirror, so be it.
  8. It says his 2025 cap hit is $2.5M. If the incentives are easily attainable, they'd be "likely-to-be-earned (LTBE) and make it a $5M cap hit for the year.
  9. I think you can leave Lamar off your list.....if he ever learns how to read defenses pre-snap, or be able to throw to anyone other than his first read before taking off to run, then maybe he can be considered, but I am not holding my breath. Once his athleticism fades, he will fall off quickly. As for Starks, he wants an INT off the best QB on the planet......what defender doesn't want that?? Wanting an interception is one thing, but getting one is quite another.
  10. Placebo effect involves an actual treatment of a physical or physiological condition, so for me you are completely mis-using it here. I think you are making the point that the players already had these abilities so the emotional heightening from perceived or actual "insults" is negligible. I would simply say that physiological changes when experiencing strong emotions can change mental focus, increasing it when channeled properly. https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychology/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2017.01454/full So, some pro athletes find ways to experience strong emotions to find greater focus. This is what is being alluded to. Yes, you're right the athlete already had the ability, but finding ways to maintain maximum mental focus enables maximum and consistent physical performance.
  11. Now that India is our ally can we please bring Apu back on the Simpsons?
  12. Brian Cox would like a word…the 12th man took the proverbial bat to him following his bulletin board moment(s)…😅
  13. As a backup, all you would need was half a season in play, right? Bledsoe had a lot of playoff experience and won four playoff games and appeared in the Super Bowl while Flutie did not, so I'm taking Bledsoe as a backup.
  14. Yea fans hat the business side of football. But it exists. You can't play stop the world I want to get off. If fans think $15m is "ridiculous" they are not following the NFL market. Is it high? Yes. Is it more than you'd like to pay him? Yes. But it isn't ridiculous. And I don't break the market down by 2 down vs 3 down. I break it down between guys who are a genuine threat to go the distance and guys who are just chain movers. Cook is the former.
  15. And we all agree healthy food is important so no you can't use your food stamps on soda and junk food. Can't have it both ways. Free or reduced price HEALTHY food for all students is something I can get behind. Growing up my wife didn't know if she would have food at home but luckily she had food at school except it was all crap. But it beats eating cereal for dinner at home.
  16. To me it's a ridiculous amount, and I think to most fans it looks unreasonable - at the time it was $3M more than Barkley. And it's beyond the top end of the 2 down RB market. It signifies Cook wants to be paid at the top tier of the 3 down workhorse RB market - which he is not currently in (thus the Shakir example). I still can't figure out why Cook's team put that out there - what good did they think could come from it. As for social media games, the Diggs thing turned the Bills fanbase against him. And Poyer's wasn't much better, seemingly orchestrated by his wife.
  17. Yesterday, in an interview with Martha McCallum on Fox News, Vice President J.D. Vance was asked for his thoughts on the recent outbreak of hostilities between India and Pakistan. The answer he gave was such a departure from Washington politician-speak that it is probably going to cause everyone in D.C. to throw a conniption today. Watch: We will stand ready to defend OUR interests but otherwise countries that have been virtually at war for decades and decades will have to work this out.
  18. Lol because of tariffs they say. Someone can't read a chart. Unemployment looks to be at similar levels as it was last fall. Canada is a joke. I don't even know if we should make them a state. Maybe they should get the same treatment as Puerto Rico or Guam
  19. Not quite right. He said the Bills told him on his visit that if he was there they wanted him. Not in a call on draft night. But of course they edit the video to suit the reality. It isn't a true reflection of what went on in the draft. It's a snapshot cleverly edited together to make the team look good. I remember long ago before Embedded the social media team did a post draft video that showed Whaley trying, and failing, to trade up on day 2 for Carlos Hyde, the running back out of Ohio State, and apparently when it went out Whaley and Monos were apoplectic. Lesson learnt.
  20. I love the irony of the last two lines especially!
  21. If Gabe was released a failed physical after giving him a 10 million dollar bonus this offseason, His injury has to be pretty severe
  22. Just some honest feedback to your point above - when you keep making the same argument/points to people who differ in your opinion, you are gonna keep getting the same responses back. I mean you are in every WR thread and even starting threads to just say all the same stuff thats been beaten to death already. And lets be real, all this WR outrage is also coming off a season where the offense was historically great as a whole and appears, at least on paper, to be better today than it was when we last saw them on the field. Keon has a year under his belt now, Palmer is a better down field presence than either The Ghost of Cooper was or Mack, our guys are healthy in Kincaid, Keon, and Samuel, and that was just the first full year under Brady. But I also get it, I was pounding the drum to get Donte Thornton all offseason who went 1 pick before us after we traded up. I can assure you there isn't one fan that would have been upset to see us take a vertical threat WR. The difference for me and many others is, we aren't sitting here coming of a historically great season offensively thinking because we didn't grab some Day 3 guy in a weak draft class overall for WR that we are screwed either. I mean I was I bummed to see us trade a 2nd time with Chi to get back to 109 just to see "my guy" Thornton go to the Raiders at pick 108. Watching Embedded its clear it wouldn't have mattered, they showed they made the move to go get Deone before the Donte pick was even done. But rather than freak out, I was still excited about Deone who filled another need (size) I also had been clamoring for. He was a guy coming into this past season I thought was headed to be a first round pick before injuries held him back. If you don't want to keep getting the same responses back...maybe jump into some non-WR discussions...because lets be real, there hasn't been a "new" point brought up on either side about WR's in a long time. Just my 2 cents
  23. It's possible, but I don't see any reason to expect it. They're still one of the youngest teams in the league and this is probably the best and deepest roster they've had in the Mahomes era. Easily the best WR corps they've had since Hill/Watkins (probably better overall).
