Who do we want, who do we need as our next OC/DC?
SectionC3 replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with this. He’s the angle nobody talks about: We have to make it fun for our QB who is rich beyond his wildest dreams to drag his Oscar-caliber wife away from her career and SoCal weather for six months a year to play on this football team. This ***** this year is decidedly not fun. So the question becomes what makes it fun, and who blends fun with competence? The answer smacking everyone in the face is Brian Daboll. No matter how this year shakes out Brady is cooked. So then we get into who replaces him, which leads, in my view, inevitably to Josh asking for Daboll. I suppose Daboll could get another head job-but that’s doubtful for this cycle, and that brings Davis Webb into the mix. in any event, turning back to Daboll, then the question is does McD take him back. And then we get into this tug of war where it very well could be that Josh says I’m getting Daboll, McD resists and, short of a Super Bowl appearance, that resistance leads to a parting of ways in which Daboll is the head coach of the Bills in 2026. -
It’s a low bar. But Moore was certainly better than Coleman and Samuel. For the few snaps he was given, he made an impact, getting more separation than any other WR. Don’t disagree with this? - that Moore was by no means was the worst WR on the roster, and was cut for cap reasons and not football reasons.

WTF, man…I mean really? Why in the world would you think it was a good idea to come in here and post this? Our fans suck. Like, truly suck.

Random talking head says something about the Bills

2 Bills hating clowns. Nothing new. Love the negative narratives though....most teams use it as extra fuel -

Quite a few negative takes in this video including Cooks is not going to make a difference and that the Colts, Broncos and Steelers have a D similar in nature to Houston and the that there is no chance of a Super Bowl this year. -
It all comes down to Pegula. There are actually 2 areas he's gotten off easy on. Sure, his defense letting us down is more of an annual tradition than the Macy's Parade. But his first year here if reports are correct, and I believe they are, that Pegula wanted Mahomes and placed his trust in McDermott to make the choice. Now, win some lose some, sure, and we did end up with Josh Allen. But if I'm the owner and I keep watching the guy I wanted piledrive us out of the playoffs year after year...at some point I may question if the guy that didn't wanna take that QB actually knows what he's talking about

I'm sorry - in what world was Moore a "bright spot" at WR? He had a grand total of 9 catches all season. Was the first guy on the bench when everyone was healthy. For all his speed, watch the tape, he was practically never able to get separation. He wasn't particularly shifty, as his jet sweeps more often than not went nowhere. On top of that, he provided nothing in the Blocking game and nothing in the Special Teams game. Moore was a failed experiment and far from a bright spot. He was the obvious odd man out in the WR room. If he were anything close to a bright spot, we wouldn't be taking flyers on Brandin Cooks or Mecole Hardman before that.

Looking ahead the potential 2026 Schedule
Kirby Jackson replied to Nitro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not penciling in anything. All teams are NFL teams. Not all teams are equal NFL teams. If I told you next year, they can play at the Titans or at the Rams, you’d agree that those aren’t the same right? This year they had statistically like a top 5 easiest schedule despite being a division winner. That has largely held true. These teams that they were playing that people expected to be bad, didn’t become good. They are largely what we thought (Jets, Saints, Dolphins, etc). We thought this was an easy schedule and it was. The Bills are the ones that have come up short. It isn’t that teams rose up above what we thought. The exception is New England and they did it with an even easier schedule (which everyone also saw a year out). -
Donte stallworth would be an improvement....
-
Correct. Give me Hardman, Gabe, Palmer, Shakir, Kincaid, Shavers and Cooks healthy and full go for the first game of the season-end tournament and I am happy. That will work. Just need to go 4-2 over the last six , get healthy, and we are good to go. IMHO. Go Bills.

@The Jokemansince you edited your comment all offensive systems benefit from timely accurate passes. that you choose to focus on wco as unique in this regard suggests you think there is a singular trait or feature of these different systems that differentiates...and that only a particular kind of QB could succeed therein. while there are definable differences (concepts v trees, etc) what mainly separates the various nfl offenses today are 1 terminologies and 2 particular skillsets of your offensive personnel. that's why shanahan's wco w purdy looks very different from andy reid's w mahomes, or even from his original offense in atlanta w matt ryan and julio jones. look at what mcvay is doing right now w stafford- looks very different from the offense he ran w goff, yes? much less under center, allows the QB to dissect, doesn't rely so heavily on play action...your personnel informs your scheme -
If Ed tries to play again this year the odds of him tearing his bicep worse than last time and requiring surgery are really high, which would mean his offseason would be impacted and he'd likely show up to camp in much worse condition. Lots of ifs there but I'd bet actual money on that outcome.

this is a rough one. Can’t do anything right today. Disappointed we couldn’t get a W in this tournament. I felt like this is a tourney team, but maybe not?

White Jerseys, Blue Pants against Pittsburgh

This should provide a serious boost to the passing game. -
It surprises me to see McDermott this high, given his resume. I was never part of the fire McDermott crowd and have been more critical of Beane's drafts picks. However, McDermott seems to get the most out of secondary talent, but the opposite might be true for the dline. Looking at both Poona, and Settle performing at a high level elsehwere, makes me think there's a big problem with his scheme. However, there's no Ben Johnson this year, or Sean Payton. For anyone wanting him fired, who do we replace him with, and is it a HC/GM package deal?
