  1. Past hour
  2. Should probably add Montana and Bradshaw to that list, though they are kind of "old school" era. But agree with you overall.
  3. All of the times that my dad would stop and we would watch the stadium being built. I remember seeing a big hole in the ground and wondering how is this going to be a stadium?
  4. In the immortal words of Gust Avrakotos, “we’ll see”.
  5. 2.5 seasons running this style of offense isn't partly by accident at this point because, despite a lot of evidence to the contrary, it's what they believe works. They also have a historic habit of overestimating their WR group and then act surprised when those guys can't get it done. Not to mention, they've poorly/under invested in WR going back to about 2021. This year it was expecting Coleman to become a boundary receiver primarily because he was their pick. Or, expecting paying Shakir to become more than a RAC guy who could be a true slot. Or, expecting Kincaid to improve (he has) but remain healthy (he hasn't). Or, expecting Josh Palmer to be a WR2/3 type. And to a lesser extent, expecting Moore to be better than the Cleveland version of himself or Samuel to be the player he no longer is apparently. Has to change in the off-season, but it's McD and Beane and their stubbornness is legendary at this point. Until then, yeah...all they can do is lean in and go with it.
  6. Nobody hates McD, that’s just a creative path people use to dismiss the opinions of those that think this regime, Beane included, is fairly average if not worse. Surely such opinions have to be personal and irrational. The whole thing is boring. This team looks like a floating turd in a punch bowl with people hanging onto to hopes that somehow we alter what has occurred like clockwork for multiple seasons and actually perform better in the playoffs. Which we can’t. It’s as laughable a notion as saying the Cowboys will just click in the postseason. Bahaha….man, fear, fear, and more fear. Nobody leave the house. A bad thing could happen.
  7. Those are not bad stats either. On Defense: I think the points against is in part on the offense due to turnovers. Clean those up and the points against will improve. Whether the D to date is judged based on being eighth in yards or twelfth in points - both stats are describing a similar defense. If the defense can be a top 10 unit in both yards and points -- a true top 10 that passes the eye test -- we may be on to something. The comments about "which team shows up" being important I think are spot on - we need to be consistent on defense and fix the offensive mistakes and develop a passing philosophy that works given our limitations at WR (more to the backs, more to TEs - especially once Kincaid is back). Loved seeing Cook and Ty Johnson in the backfield at the same time. Defense seems to be coming together a bit.
  8. When the jumbotron operator ended a massive cup war after Guns N Roses was notoriously 2 hours late (again) for their headlining set after Metallica had finished playing as, by pure happenstance, they panned to a woman who was on someone's shoulders and she flashed the camera. It instantly went from cup war to "flashfest". Prior to that, I'm pretty sure I suffered a concussion from a 24 oz cup packed full with ice with lid intact being thrown like a missile from the 300s. Maybe not favorite... but one of the most memorable.
  9. I'm sorry to hear of your loss and I hope the game is a fun win and brings some happiness to your family. Do you recall details of the last game you attended at The Ralph? As others have pointed to, the Bills gotta stop turning the ball over, which is to say Josh has to play a cleaner game than he's been playing. The Bills have to hold serve in this one. So you think the Bengals have adequately supported Burrow? Are you expecting a Bills loss? Maybe the most positive thing to come out of last week's game was that Ray Davis finally broke his sophomore slump. It looks like he's been watching Cook and has a better understanding of where the openings are going to be. It was also nice seeing Ty Johnson look like last year with that 20 yard reception. The Bills have needed more from their backup running backs... I'm not comfortable with an over reliance on James Cook. Plus both teams are coming off bad losses. It should be hard fought if nothing else. Week 14 would be the perfect time for Josh to start protecting the ball better and the team as a whole to start peaking. It's the stretch run! Okay.
  10. Good homework. I can't get too worked up thinking of permutations. Still have to win our games. Would be nice to have a desirable slot locked up Week 18 so as to rest people vs Jets. Let's start with beating Bengals this Sunday and extinguishing any hope they have. It won't be easy. They have 8 losses and unbelievably still have outside shot at Division. AFC North is weird and if Bengals somehow run the table, it's not inconceivable that Ravens and Steelers, who each have 6 losses, play each other twice. Pittsburgh remaining opponents- Ravens 2x, Dolphins, at Detroit, at Cleveland (never an easy game for them). Not inconceivable they lose 3 more games. Baltimore opponents- Steelers 2x, Bengals, Pats, at Green Bay. That's a rough schedule. They can lose 3. I'd rather go to Pittsburgh or even Baltimore over Cincinnati. Go beat Joe Burrow Sunday.
  11. Sounds like the 80s when the Browns couldn't get past the Broncos but I bet if you'd ask Browns fans would they rather be in that situation compared to where they at now most would choose the first.
  12. Interesting point regarding roster building philosophies. I went back and did a quick dig on the Raven's post season record in the Lamar Jackson Era, along with the number of Ravens selected to go All Pro and/or Pro Bowl 2018-Lost in the Wildcard to the Chargers, 3 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl selections. 2019-Lost in the Divisional round to the Titans, Lamar's first MVP year. 6 All Pro, 13 Pro Bowl selections. 2020-Lost to us in the Divisional round, 2 All Pro, 7 Pro Bowl selections. 2021-Missed the playoffs. 3 All Pro, 5 Pro Bowl selections. 2022-Lost to Cinci in the Wildcard, 3 All Pro, 7 Pro Bowl selections. 2023-Lost to the Chiefs in the AFCG, Lamar's second MVP year, 6 All Pro, 8 Pro Bowl selections. 2024-Lost to us in the Divisional round, 6 All Pro, 11 Pro Bowl selections. In the Lamar Jackson era, the Ravens have missed the playoffs once, been one-and-done'd twice, and made it to 1 AFCG. With a roster that usually has more than it's fair share of Very Good to Elite players. So long as you have an MVP level franchise QB, "Solid and Deep" seems to beat "Stars and JAGs" in consistency over time. At least in a Bills/Ravens comparison.
  13. Burrow wouldn’t have made it through our Houston game. He’d be on IR right now.
  14. Sounds like you’re on the right track. Damn genetics and getting old! lol
  15. The perfect game was awesome, especially that Hyde interception when he came out of no where to get that ball. The AFC championship against the Raiders was just wow. I only saw the ending of the greatest come back since it was blacked out here in Buffalo. The most memorable game in person was a Monday night game against the Denver Broncos with those horrible throwback red helmets and white standing Buffalo. Thurman had a great run to turn that game around. I also remember attending a game against the Colts with OJ on the game day program just before the events that made him infamous. Good/Bad and indifferent memories of tailgating, waiting to use the trough bathrooms, freezing feet and slapping hands with complete strangers just because they happened to have seats next or in front/behind me. Until it's not and Flutie gets sacked by Trace Armstrong and literally drops the ball 🥲 sorry I never was and never will buy the hype train that was #7
  16. Fun fact - The Republicans Against Trump twitter account is based in Austria.
  17. His defensive scheme only works in the regular season up by two scores. All the close games with worse teams have been due to not being able to stop the run and get off the field on 3rd down. And then you have all the shoot outs where they can't make a play to change the game. It's a mediocre defense buoyed by the best offensive player of our generation.
  18. The game where Bruce Smith hit Boomer Esaison with a devasting hit.
  19. Bills win over Dolphins to end the streak.
  20. I hate NE with the passion of McDemott calling defensive time outs. I hate watched them for last last 5 years when they sucked because I love watching them lose. They have the biggest bandwagon fan base in sports. I’ve said numerous times there has been ZERO talk of the Pats* in NE the last 4-5 years. Pure Bandwagon. That being said, it looks like Maye is the real deal right now and I hate it. He’s taken a huge leap under Vrabel (hate him) and McDaniels. I’m going to hold on to my hope that once he starts playing a harder schedule and teams have a full year of tape under him and McDaniels that he’s going to come back to Earth. That’s mainly because I don’t want to admit NE is going to be a problem for the next decade and I’m hoping he regresses like Stroud, Daniels, Purdy, and other QBs who looked phenomenal for a year then regressed to the mean. He’s playing great, has a very good HC/OC combo, and an easy schedule. I don’t think we will know until next year if it’s sustainable but right now he’s got all the potential.
  21. Burrow with our offense and coached by McDermott and Brady… how would that go?
  22. Mine is a seemingly meaningless game against the Dolphins. The one where Hyde took the onside kick for the TD. It was the first game I took my son to. Being able to share that right of passage with him was a top 5 moment in my entire life
