Gabe Davis signing with the Bills (going to practice squad)
Mango replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's on the PS and recovering, with a possibility to provide nice depth as a backup on the outside and/or in the run game. In a pinch he may be able to step in and have a big game when a starter goes down. At the moment I don't understand why this is contentious. If he starts taking meaningful snaps away from other players it could become a problem. But that moment is so far away, if it even happens at all. -

Shenault and Hamler were always bad. Shenault may be out of the league completely and Hamler might be too. Hamler couldn’t make the team LAST year. -
There’s a case to be made that the Chiefs and Bills both losing could be the worst case scenario for Buffalo, as it would mean they’d be chasing an extra team in terms of playoff seeding.

I don't think Texas had any idea what was coming or from where with OSU's defense. Matt Patricia had the entire offseason to plan for this game, and being a new DC in the college ranks, there wasn't any film on his strategies. Texas got punched in the face, and never recovered.

I'm excited and looking forward to getting this season underway. I have no doubts the Bills will be a competitive team right in the thick of things yet again. One concern I do have is we still see a lot of the same inconsistencies that plagued us on Defense last year. Overall I don't think the Defense is going to look drastically different this year. With that said I do have two X-factors that I could see transforming the look of our Defense 1) Deone Walker. If he can get a lot of minutes and become that same disruptive force we saw in preseason but this time playing against the 1's that is going to be game changer and a piece we really haven't seen yet in the McDermott era. 2) Joey Bosa. If he can remain healthy and play at the level he is capable of we finally have our home run hitter for the pass rush. I'm optimistic but still extremely nervous we can see this version of Bosa If one of these scenarios plays out we should be in very good shape. Now if both of these scenarios play out it should transform our Defense to another level we haven't seen yet in the McDermott era. What are your X-Factors for the season?

We got the good on offense to keep up, but clearly the Ravens back 7=8 is better than Buffalo's, and the Ravens run game is going to give this DLine an insane test right out of the gates. Not sure how that's gonna go. Keon needs to win his routes to keep the Ravens D honest. Bills Front 7 has to be able to contain run enough to keep the Bills secondary from creeping. Ravens WRs aren't all that fearsome per se. Bateman and Flowers are good not great weapons. TEs are again good but no longer elite. This really comes down to the run game and how hot Lamar Jackson gets

Speaking of just the 11 year old In Texas, since the reports all state he did not try and kick in the door, then the shooting is not justified. An annoyance like that does not justify shooting him. -
Anyone feel this is must win. Due to tiebreaker? Or, way too early for that talk?

Game week thread - Ravens at Bills SNF

Good optimism here. It certainly has merit. The Bills offense should be great. Top 5 or better is very realistic. The defense is another debate. The young DTs are truly wild cards and playing the Ravens in their early career isn't ideal. It's a pretty big ask even for the most optimistic. The Ravens online in the running game are monsters. Henry is a horse coming at you. Let's face it, this is a very bad match up for the light in the ass Bills defense. They will have to load the box and hope Lamar plays poorly. This fan isn't going to gloss over glaring concerns at safety and CB2. It's a legitimate concern going into this game. Obviously, the Bills brass hasn't figured it out. Who think Tre White is a solid CB2? Bishop has shown very little. Rapp is seemingly always hurt. The Bills back end D certainly seems like a work in progress. Not the ideal situation when you are going up against an elite team called the Ravens. Hell yeah I'm concerned. Hopefully, it all gets figured out come playoff time. -
Gabe Davis signing with the Bills (going to practice squad)

The guy is like WR #7 on the practice squad. How can anyone have a problem with this? Jax is paying his ridiculous over priced salary. He’s only getting called up because of injury and we could do worse. Josh is much more mature, he’s not going to force the ball to Gabe and get pick-a-palooza again. All McBeane did trying to make a #3 at best WR into a #2 WR was get Gabe a hilarious payday and then he got cut in after 1 year. I have no problem having him in reserve if WR #1-4 get hurt all at once. -

I was just gonna say that. He isn't that good when healthy, he's hurt, and Allen seems to play great against some of the bigger CB names through the recent years (Ramsey, Sauce, etc). -
Last time I looked the line flipped and the ravens are favored

51-3 no contest The Van broke down. Might not make this one boys. If we lose, it’s on me -
Didn't know that.

Actually Nadal has been cursed with a rare foot disorder called Mueller-Weiss Syndrome since he was a teenager. It's chronic, painful and incurable. It makes the career he managed to put together even that much more impressive, imo.

The NFL is almost mostly shotgun now Like 70% of all snaps last year were shotgun.. People like Patrick mahomes never took one snap under center in their college career... The game has definitely just changed Most quarterbacks now are growing up in a spread compared to 25 years ago when they were still playing Wing t or something like that in high school

It’s all I picture when people say a player is washed. I’m like cool, glad they got their BO in check. Then I remember everyone on the internet is 14 years old and I hate everything. -

Since there’s (by definition) performance below the average that’s gonna make for a lot of roster churn.
