  1. Past hour
  2. When I moved here from California, I was 225 lbs. Currently holding steady at 270.
  3. It was a joke, Hawes did go to Yale. When Fitz was Bills QB, announcers couldn’t get out a paragraph without mentioning he went to Harvard. There was an also a Bills player whose name I can’t recall, who was Malone’s son. Announcers would always point it out.
  4. I felt the same way when I got home from my recent visit. I told everyone I’d weigh 300 pounds if I still lived in WNY.
  5. Where Hawes transforms the Bills offense is this: They can use him as the "6th O-lineman" in jumbo sets, but he's an actual threat to catch the ball, unlike Alec Anderson. I could be mistaken, but I don't believe I've seen the Bills roll out a 6OL package yet this season. I HAVE seen (especially against the Jets) a good amount of 12 and 13 personnel. Hawes is Lee Smith Jr. For the Bills to say he was the best blocking tight end they've EVER evaluated, and for him to already be getting this much time on the field...you know he's special as a blocker at that position. Dawson Knox is set to make $17million next year. Given the realistic constraints of the salary cap, people aren't wrong to say that long term, Hawes' presence could spell the end of Knox's Bills tenure. Going forward, a Hawes-Kincaid duo at TE could indeed be the thing. And if Hawes is able to develop the receiving part of his game? Look out, man.
  6. Agree. Especially blocking on the perimeter on WR screens, end around, etc. He used to whiff on those but seems to be much better at engaging, staying in contact, blocking through the whistle, etc.
  7. So, let me get this straight. Many Bills fans complain continuously that Josh has to do everything on his own. That we aren't as talented as other top teams, so Josh has to put on his cape and play one-on-eleven (apparently). Then we have a game that is a total team win. The offensive and defensive lines control the game and we run the ball a lot. They prove that there is a lot of talent around Josh actually. But now the issue is Josh didn't have enough passing yards, and we got stopped on some second down runs? I have learned over the years that some people just will never be happy, no matter how much you try to do for them. I'm not saying we can never discuss problems with the offense, the play calls, or individual players performances. etc. But we just opened the season scoring 41 points and 30 points, respectively, against two very good defenses. This offense is exactly what McDermott and Beane wanted since like Daboll's second/third season as OC. Don't you remember how many times McD tried to get the offense to be more balanced, get Daboll to run the ball more? We are a bigger, stronger, more balanced team now. We can play in a shoot-out with KC, or we can grind out rushing yards against physical teams (or poor teams). We can change our game plan according to our opponent (as weeks 1 and 2 showed us). We can now run a 4-minute offense to close out games (because we can run the ball better), etc. Plus, the league has changed since 2019-2021. A lot of time was spent trying to shut down offenses like KC and Buf. The move to more cover 0, then to man coverage, etc. We couldn't continue with the aerial attack we had (in the same way), but not be able to run the ball well. The defenses dictated that players like Allen and Mahomes would need to be more patient and methodical. The defenses were keeping everything in front of them. So, the offensive style needed to change. Plus, we needed to be stronger and more physical (which we are now) to face the Cincinnatis and Baltimores of the world. We were much more what we used to call a finesse offense in the Daboll years. Now we can ground and pound when needed (without losing the ability to still have a prolific passing offense). Just FYI Daboll's Bills offense at it's best (2020-2021; 34 regular season games): Averaged 377.5 yards per game and 28.9 points per game. Since Brady took over (mid-2023 to present; 25 regular season games): Averaging 350.8 yards per game and 30.2 points per game. Playoffs: Daboll (2020-2021) 3-2, averaging 30.2 points/game with 376.8 yards/game. Brady (2023-2024) 3-2, averaging 28.4 points/game with 370.8 yards/game. Pretty similar overall, but now our team is stronger and more multiple. We are no longer out physicaled by teams, we can run when we need to, change our game plan according to the opponent, fare better in inclement weather, we're not as predictable, etc...in my opinion. I don't think we have to worry about Brady and the offense. P.S. Someone brought up that we had some struggles in the last few games (particularly Baltimore and Denver). Yes, before the Jets game, our last four opponents were Baltimore, Kansas City, Baltimore, and Denver. All three teams were top 10 defenses in both yards allowed and points allowed last year. Denver was 3rd in points allowed, K.C. was 4th, and Baltimore was 9th. Stands to reason that you'd struggle a bit more against better defenses. And yet, in those 4 games, the Bills still averaged 32 points/game. (Heck, even the Jets' defense was #3 in yards allowed last year and we just had 403 yards and 30 points against them.) But sure, good defenses are going to get some stops too---like on a second down run.
  8. At least the Bills were always kind of competitive before losing eventually during the drought. The Jets are a whole new level of awful
  9. He also played at Marv Levy's alma mater.
  10. Burrow's elite man. If you don't think he's a top 5 QB I don't know what to tell you.
  11. Would free speech champion Charlie Kirk be in favor of firing people who spoke ill of Charlie Kirk on social media? Hmm .... ... Trump always seems to know how to cede the moral high ground within roughly 48 hours.
  12. I think you would have a hard time trading Samuel and a 7th for a 6th.
  13. I wanted the Bills to replace McDermott with him too. And maybe I will again. But the guy sounds like a grade A prick in the few interviews I've seen him give. Gives off Todd Haley vibes.
  14. And I would own him afterwards. If a chicken ***** dumbass can't control his anger he is not a strong man. Wothstraint is stronger than anything else. I'd not even touch him.
  15. Just as I suspected. It looked like a core injury. I assumed it was his back from the way he twisted. But it appears it was his stomach instead. Makes me wonder if he’s working out correctly. It’s possible he’s focusing too much on ‘strength’ and not working enough on flexibility.
  16. Dorian Williams, Shaq Thompson, Keonta Jenkins, come on down!
  17. Tre had a solid game Sunday but Fields and the Jets aren’t really what Tony Romo talked them up to be early in the game. Personally I want the younger guy on the field who has more upside down the road. If Strong isn’t a liability and his ceiling is higher than what Tre can give us, it’s more beneficial for the team the sooner he gets there.
  18. They’re basically playing with 3 backups on the OL
  19. What team is going to give us their elite anything?
  20. That's jackson hayes...not hawes. For reference to Malone.
  21. Agree. Just look at this game as an example. There’s a thread on here about Milano getting hurt. They didn’t even mention it. People wonder why the game was boring? It’s partly because the announcers did a terrible job of keeping anyone the slightest bit interested. Really bad broadcasting.
  22. Not a good weekend for QB’s: Joe Burrow (turf toe), JJ McCarthy (high ankle sprain), and Jayden Daniels (sprained knee). Ooof.
  23. All this talk of trade for so and so, and Matt cant stay healthy/so and so predicted this. Wow, we dont even know the extent of injury yet. He was fitted for a brace at halftime and stayed dressed. Maybe he misses a game, maybe its more serious, but the obvious thing isnt to jump to worst case scenario yet (like alot seem to be).
  24. Was watching All-22 of the first half of Jets game. My random thoughts: Wilson beat Benford for solid gain on 3rd down in Jets first drive but Field missed him completely. Javon Solomon lined inside on 3rd and longs couple times. On his first carry on 3&2 Ray Davis went wrong direction and instead hitting a hole for 5-15y gain he ran to the wall for 1y. He was fine on 4th down. Brown and Torrence are amazing blockers. On Josh's first grounding he had Palmer open enough imo for the TD but it required perfect ball placement and Josh didn't pull the trigger. Cook running was a piece of beauty. Knox and Kincaid back to back drops less so. Sam Franklin knows his ST tackles lol. Josh was a little of in the 1st Q, he missed open Shavers and then Kincaid TD, but the latter was not an easy throw. On Hall's single longer run both Milano and Bernard were blocked but then Hall met Bishop who was in perfect position. Other than that, both Milano and Bernard had good games. So did Cam Lewis and Dorian Williams imo. Really sucks that Milano was injured again. Trubisky was hero of the day with that throw to Palmer when Josh got hurt. The line blocked really well too. Walker and Sanders were good. Nothing flashy, but just solid work. Sanders was close to a sack. I liked what I saw from Coleman. Couple good catches, his OPI was close, and he had one really good scramble drill where Josh just pump faked instead of throwing to him and it was a mistake, could've been nice gain.
