Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
BADOLBILZ replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. Allen has had his moments where he's made mistakes in the clutch. But when they've failed in the clutch it's WAY too often because of the pass catchers. The 2023 loss to KC was largely on Allen and Brady (with an assist to Chris Jones) for foiling their idiotic play call after the 2 minute warning. But Allen made the play this year. If Kincaid just catches that arm punt it may go down as one of the greatest plays by Allen, recovering from being fooled by a great call by Spags. -
If the Bills do this, that limited role better not include option routes that rely on the WR and QB to be on the same page when they read the coverage. I like the version of Allen that limits INTs.

TJ Watt Speculation after Pickens trade (Nothing Official)
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Replacing picket got them from 25th in yards to 23rd, and 28th in points to 16th. So that sort of worked, but even with a defense that was on the edge of top 10, they only outscored opponents by 33 points, after being outscored the previous 3 seasons (and making the playoffs twice). And how much of that was having a kicker who went 13/15 from 50+? They also haven't won a playoff game since 2016. -
Zero coaching or front office experience. He is maybe the one guy who Sabres fans would most reject due to hatred. Staal hated it here, and quit on the team. He is friends with Kevyn Adams (who everyone hates) so there is that. He also said that he would have had Buffalo on his no trade list if he thought it was possible he could be traded to Buffalo. After media hinting at possible major changes and the fans being forced to wait for that rube owner to drag his slippered feet around through the NFL draft and Adams "presenting to him". This is a slap in the face to Sabres fans as the first (maybe only) "move". Staal was also one of the meatheads who refused to wear a pride jersey for warmups. All these hollow theme nights that NHL teams put on do annoy me, but a player making that stand is a really bad look IMO. Stall can f right back out of Buffalo.

I fell into a burning ring of fire I went down, down, down And the flames went higher And it burns, burns, burns The ring of fire The ring of fire

I was never a Gabe Davis guy until the 2024 Playoff loss to the Chiefs. Gabe was out, and we had no one that could threaten the Chiefs deep. They kept daring us on the outside with 1 on 1 coverage. Josh threw a couple nice balls to Trent Sherfeld, but you can see that Sherfield just didn't have the same ability. In that limited role, I would love Gabe back, but not to depend on him, like he's mistakenly a #2 WR.
-
This is a hard exercise because we have to read Brady's mind and guess how he'll use these guys. And I know from how often I disappoint my wife, I'm a terrible mind reader. But here goes... 1. Shakir 2. Palmer 3. Moore 4. Kincaid 5. Coleman 6. Knox 7. Samuel As I am so often with my wife, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong with this.
-
He would be likely WR5 in KC. They don't need WR help. Houston and NE addressed the WR position well in the draft. Don't see that. Pittsburgh did just create an opening so that may be. I wouldn't rule out places like Vegas or Atlanta. Miami likes collecting players whose name exceeds their talent too

Definitely not a fan of jones or his girls, but I think it is a great move. I am not upset that the Bills did not sign him, though I would not have been averse to it if the cost was low, which it will likely not be. The girls seemed to have almost no reliable weapons after Lamb last year, and with 24 year old George Pickens they may have struck gold. Now ol' Zak can maybe get his girls into the playoffs again, this year or next. And lose again, of course.

With next year being projected to be a very good QB draft, it probably makes some sense for them to unload tradeable players to accumulate draft capital. In addition, if this year is going to be a down season, eating some dead cap money might not be that undesirable from their point of view. It will be interesting to watch their roster moves going forward.

Davis is not a good #2 WR so that's why he wasn't consistent here and didn't show much in Jax. But, I think he's could be a solid #3 or #4.....but we have that covered I think. I don't really see a spot for him here.
-
But what about when he was WR4 5 , I really liked him in that role year 1 and 2. Most ppl did, so much so that most of us didn't mind him being WR2 in 23. And he's excellent in run game
-
Why are you leaving off the RBs? They were 20% of the passing game last season. Let’s also clarify what are his best options for what. Most frequent target? Most yards? Most likely target to get a first down? Most like target in the end zone? Most likely to WR to catch a deep pass?
-
My official bet is KC, Pittsburgh, Houston, or NE.
-
Thanks... fixed my post.
-
He at least fits in the run game with blocking ability and has come up big in big games, also he'd have that WR4 5 role he had his rookie year and went 35-600-7 Worse case he gets cut. I wouldn't mind at all in a limited role

This season officially soured me for a variety of reasons. But now it is real b-ball and LeBron is gone. Anybody but the Warriors. OKC be my pick, but if the One Man Gang stops them, then he’s my choice.

His does terrify the Chiefs, so there's that!

TJ Watt Speculation after Pickens trade (Nothing Official)
dorquemada replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
YEah and he'll play in a rotation where he's only on the field 1 down I don't see a superstar DL doing well here -
What was his time in the 40 ?
-
Dropped easy passes Several Allen INTs went off Gabe's hands or were because he ran the wrong route Caught some very difficult passes too Had some amazing toe tap sideline catches Scored a lot of TDs Seemed like a willing blocker but I'm not 100% sure about that Not worth what he got in FA, but a Bills reunion probably has more upside than downside.
-
Be a real Billsy move to bring him back.

I know you’re just playing but I hope for football side of this you aren’t serious. The guy is probably the most impactful defensive player in the nfl -
Gabe got money from Houston and Jax? Sheesh, he may have the best agent in the league

I called this during the draft. The writing was on the wall with a new HC/GM and making the big move for Hunter. The Bills absolutely loved his work ethic and reportedly wanted him back. He should have a pretty soft market coming off another down year before the injury. All that said....hard pass. Which would likely deflect off Davis's fingers and be intercepted.
