Cleveland Browns unveil new helmet, drum roll please
Sierra Foothills replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks for the link but unfortunately it leaves a lot of my questions, unanswered. For instance, what degree if any were the Browns complicit in this stunt?... because why would they agree to do something that makes them look so stupid? And if the Browns didn't know he was gonna pull this stunt, how is it that "well-known social media influencers" insinuated themselves to being on the barge in those key positions at a major team event? Was it that the Browns know that he and his Grandma were influencers and were hoping for good publicity? Subsequently did the dude and his Grandma double cross the Browns and betray the trust placed in them by the team in order to increase their followers? What an ever-stranger world we're living in. -
Thereās just so much talent on the DL and in the secondary that I hope that we carry an extra player or two there. I know Hoecht and Ogunjobi will also be suspended for the first six games of the season as well, so maybe we can sneak a few players onto our 53 man roster until they come back.. And I hope this doesnāt happen but there may be a few injuries by the time that Hoecht and Ogunjobi become available so it may be a good idea to hang onto some of these guys, just in case.. Id also like to see Buffalo carry only two QBs and maybe we should consider carrying only 5 WRs instead of six possibly because our depth at WR is nowhere near as good as our depth at DB/secondary.. WR#6 is probably marginally better than WR#7 on the practice squad.. And I do think TreDavious will make the roster. He will be CB#3 behind Benford and Hairston..

You had to go back 4 years when everyone else was lying to a tweet that was not even definitive? As I said they are the best by being accurate over time.

Depression can affect anyone. It doesn't matter what age, race, ethnicity or social tier. It affects more people than we probably know, so let's be kind and supportive to everyone. Who knows, our act of kindness might be the difference for someone who is suffering from depression. -
You must believe that various 401k accounts do not include foreign investment options. Thatās interesting.

At least somebody cares about this ess show. Meanwhile, you're still paying a lot for stuff. Promises made, promises broken. As of recently, international stocks were beating the S&P by about 14% this year. Not that you care, because you lap up the Trump cult business. But if you mean that "doing nicely" is dramatically trailing indices that we've routinely beaten over the past decade, then yeah, things are pretty sweet.

Maybe, but the cost of building materials now, compared to when those stadiums were built is night and day. When the Steelers built their stadium in 2001, it cost $281M. When the Ravens built their stadium in 1998 it was $220M. The Vikings stadium was more recent (2016) and it was $1.061B. Thatās $1.39B in todayās dollars and thatās WITHOUT factoring in the increased cost of construction vs. 2016. Thatās another 40% or so. The bottom line is that the Bills stadium costs WAY more to built than any of those others. -
I had a boss over 10 years ago that had a poster in his office with that saying and some of the reasoning spilled out. I remember thinking at the time it made perfect sense. It's funny too I remember he was a big NY Giants fan. And I still remember being happy at least the Super Bowl posters he had in his wall were from Super Bowl 21 not 25!

I think that things change so quickly now in terms of how fans consume games, replacement will be the new norm instead of renovation. The Superdome is a bit of an anomaly. The location makes it as valuable as it is. There isnāt land right there to build a new one. If they were to do it, the location would be worse. There was talk once of moving it to the Northshore. Thatās an affluent part of SELA but you have to cross a 26 mile bridge to get there. Thatās not feasible. MAYBE, they could build something over by the convention center but ingress and egress would be a nightmare. In the current location, the hotels, party areas, including Bourbon St. are all within a mile of the stadium. When New Orleans hosts events people never get into a car. You donāt worry about UBER or public transportation. You walk everywhere because itās so close. Itās one-of-a-kind and why they will probably always renovate. They just put another $560M into it. Thatās not how the stadium is in Vegas or LA or Miami or NY or any of the other party cities. Thereās a reason that New Orleans is the greatest host city in the world.

Is there anything you learned in school you still apply in daily life?

This is touching on many levels. Since our kids were young, and now well into adulthood, my wife has only asked for one gift from our boys. She has a collection of handwritten notes from our kids going back decades, and they are far more precious than any little trinket or costume earrings. They are among her most prized possessions. We are on vacation in a cabin at a resort on a lake, and all three of our grandkids are here, along with their families. Itās complicated, but itās also beautiful. Some of them I will meet for the first time tonight. She got tee times and massages for all the right people, a full day at the pool with a cabanaā¦..and this is her birthday gift to herself. That feels like a different generation.
