Our only alternative was to match or beat New England's offer of not only money, but a starting role. Hollins was never supposed to have as big of a role as he did for us. As much as he's loved, people overestimate what he did for us last season. He was a sub 400 yard guy for us last season. You don't want to start Mack Hollins - you want to do better than that. On paper and in terms of skill, Joshua Palmer is a better WR than Hollins. As much of a disappointment as he's seemed (especially with the injury now) - he still has 234 yards in under 6 games vs. Mack's 378 for 17 games.

Backup RB is very much in the top 10 issues we have, we just haven't had a reason to care about it yet. If Cook missed a game, we'd have no way to move the ball with teams keying on the short pass. Both Ray & Ty have looked terrible running the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if we traded for a cheap RB with some juice for a late pick. Maybe they'd IR Ray, who knows.

They were 4-3 and now 4-4, and a decent team with a pretty darn good defense against the pass. The Panthers did elect to have the corpse of Andy Dalton as a backup QB, and Buffalo did take advantage of that situation. A real test comes this week against Mahomes, who is surging right now after a few slow games. Still, they are 4-3 with the same record as a bad team, Carolina only with a star at QB. We will see.

Just arrived back from Charlotte. Had 9th row tix at the 40, behind Bills bench. A few of my thoughts: Poyer and Thompson are important stabilizing factors for the D. 96 Walker is doing a lot of very good work out there. Hairston made some plays but was being effectively blocked by a WR on runs in his direction. Josh Allen was bad the first half but Andy was worse. The second they faked that toss pitch and Josh got hit like running back after 5 yard gain. After that hit he was much better. I felt the Bills were well coached. There was a good plan, the 4-3, 4 -2-5, substitutions were good and the power running game was nice.
