  1. Past hour
  2. Didn't Beane do some sort of "face saving" gesture for Jordan Poyer a few years ago when he was threatening to hold out under similar circumstances? I seem to remember them re-doing his contract by adding some more "attainable" incentives that could earn him an additional $500K to $1million or so that season? Perhaps something like that would be enough to get Cook back into the fold for this year, and then kick the can down the road for next season ...
  3. Thats not exactly what he said. He said that initially but with a follow up of he expects everyone to practice. He didn't know if he would practice today but hoped so. Also said that he has been part of all meetings and walkthroughs.
  4. Say it with me — Tax-deductible smelling salts. Who said there’s nothing new under the sun?! I’m sure the NFLPA will require a corresponding bump in player contracts to cover the cost of guys buying their own. Perhaps news of this is what prompted Cook to demand the $15M. These guys’ families need to eat, you know, and now the NFL is taking food off their plates! 😋
  5. BBMB favorite Eli Apple heads to Cancun a bit early this year
  6. It was a hard play to make. Think how bad Andrews must feel dropping that 2 pt conversion.
  7. I think a deal is going to get done personally, especially after the deal with the Rams. But, either way, Cook I am certain still plans to play this year regardless, holding in is a MUST do for him at this stage because any injury in camp 100% kills his chance at a deal. But he isn't going to miss the opportunity to earn game checks, and more importantly, prove his worth to either this team or the next if we don't get a deal done. I am not currently the least bit worried about him "not" playing come week 1. Especially against Baltimore. I could be wrong, but I don't remotely get the impression sitting out games in the season is a real threat right now. I never expected him to even come to camp, too much injury risk while negotiating, but he wanted to put his best foot forward and show he wants to be here, and I do think that carried weight with Beane and the team and also the Kyrien deal helps reign in his ask too now. So I think the odds of a deal getting done are as high as they have been since the contract talks began.
  8. When has Samuel shown ability downfield? I am not saying I'd cut him but downfield routes have never really been his thing. Wilkerson is new so who knows.... but Shavers was ahead of Hamler and Cain on the depth chart last year. The question is more what have they done since to jump above him?
  9. Is Shavers really better than Wilkerson or Dion Cain for that matter? Lets see what all these guys can do in the preseason. And what about KJ Hamler? He has been here for a bit now.
  10. Wasn't that also the game when Hyde hurt his neck?
  11. Ok yeah that’s a fair point.
  12. ITSeems the market was set with the Williams contract. Im sure the Bills offered him a similar deal.
  13. 'Business'...
  14. Josh made international news on the Daily Mail for defending Cook. Uh oh what are all you guys that post that Cook is a distraction going to say now??? They players know he deserves to get paid. Allen's comments are spot on!!!
  15. I never said contracts aren't all great, but it doesn't mean the team isn't honoring it to the letter of how it's structured. (Highlighted) For some players, absolutely, for others, absolutely not. Enter case study: DeShawn Watson. Let's face it... the NFL is a rather ***** business model.
  16. The Mc in McBeane is McDermott thus it is his era. He was making the player decisions then and he signed off on letting Gilmore walk.
  17. How about a trade for McLaurin from the Commanders?
  18. For sure. I get it. Dallas isn't going to downplay who they "may trade for". As for who said it...man I don't have socials and go a verify who is legit or not. 3 kids full time job and so on lol. I just read the post here and responded. I don't take anything away from Cook as far as talent. He's a great talent for sure. I just wish there was more time. Last year he played behind an awesome Oline that had 1 dude miss 1 game last year. That line was awesome. Then there is Josh as a threat. I look at how well Davis did in one game and how that may be impacting how the front office is looking at this deal. Add the Rams running back with very similar numbers and his new contract. Joe Marino used the word "resonable" when talking about Cook. That's really the only way I'm trying to look at this. I love Cook as a player. I'd love to see him get paid and be in this team. I'm just a little stuck on everything that may be a factor in his success last year. I mean uNeil last year he really wasn't being talked about as "all world" or elite but he was trending. Idk just my thoughts. Go Bills!
  19. Exactly. This show isn't made for the people who tune into every shred of Bills related content available.
  20. This implies he was worse than people that were cut last year? I thought down the stretch he played well. I dont know why you have to try somoene else if youre please with his play. If they werent please with his play then why not call someone else up last year if hes not better than anyone on the PS (again not sure what you mean by not better than anyone). Do you think Amari had a better postseason than Samuels? Keon? Samuels was certainly more efficient than both (he had as many TDs as they had 1D combined, more yards than them combined, half the combined targets, double the number of 1D). I also have concerns on Samuels availability but thats a reason to put him on a pitch count more than its cause to cut him and roster shavers. I dont think our sample size is large enough to be in gotta try someone else land. I assume you want to fire McD for the same reason.
  21. Feel like this is a double entandre, kid must be crushed for ending the season how they did, I got 10 years on him, I know I'd be
  22. You can do both. You can stash the majority in "go fishing" portfolios, and take a bit and do the research and do individual issues, including options. It doesn't have to be one strategy. Chess vs. checkers.
  23. i had not thought of this but both of you are spot on. it makes sense like that. if guys are purposely playing through concusion and circumventing the protocols that's one thing, but for teams to enable smelling salts is supporting it with teams and staff likely knowing why they do it.
