I can see an argument for the Dolphins being effective on offense, but it's difficult to justify belief in the defense beyond them having some pass rush pedigree (with injury histories), some physicality otherwise in front-7, but not any notable playmakers outside of Fitzpatrick in back-7. Their RB room is really talented and they've got some dynamic dudes at WR too. They're going to run the ball well. Achane is awesome, and the next two youngsters behind him have some traits. Always comes down to Tua and his WRs staying on time and doing their quick, decisive thing. So how's that o-line hold up just long enough to make it all work? Defensively, they might cause some disruption from time to time, with talent and aggression, but they're gonna get GOT a lot at the second and third levels. They could have some REALLY bad defensive matchups this season. My guess against the Bills is they come out playing aggressive, tough guy ball and attack the LOS and backfield. Force the Bills to beat em down the field. Try to TOUCH Josh Allen above all else.

But within that we never stopped them

That’s true, but you’re looking at it backwards. The Chiefs scoring fewer points wouldn’t have made the Bills score fewer, but the Bills scoring more likely would have led to the Chiefs also scoring more. If Bass makes that kick, it’s 27-27 and the Chiefs have the ball with 1:40, 2 timeouts, and get to use all 4 downs to score. Even if they fail, there’s overtime. They didn’t need to score, but they did need to get a first down to ice the game. They got a first down. Same goes for the end of the 2024 AFCCG. The Bills final drive ended with just under 2:00 left. If they had managed to score, the Chiefs were getting the ball with a chance to score. There was also the possibility of overtime had the BIlls kicked a FG. Even trying to kill the clock, they gained two first downs and got to the Buffalo 18 before kneeling down. So yeah, there’s a lot of truth to the idea that teams can score more when they need to and play it closer to the vest when they don’t (like in the 2023 AFCCG or the 2024 Divisional round).

NGL I want to watch that. Such a great story. Good for her.

The talent level on this years roster is so much better that we will be cutting players that we would have been happy to have only a few years ago. Unfortunately, there are a few players that we really like that will have to be let go. A nice problem to have, but a couple players will be cut that I would really like being on the final 53.

And then Otis Taylor showed up. Some special guys.

Excellent point. The difference was Elway was surrounded by much more talented teams in those late 90s runs than in the 80s and early 90s. That's the thing with the Bills. Josh is great and the Bills have certainly fielded some very good teams around him but it just hasn't felt like he has been given a true Super Bowl caliber team around him yet. Hoping the Defense has been shored up and that is about to change. We'll see

No Tim Tindale on here? Dang. -
Andy Reid didn’t have Mahomes in Philly. Sean has Josh Allen in Buffalo.
-
Don't forget Art Powell. He was a nightmare with the Raiders.
-
Spot on. It will be tough to get a high end WR to come here in FA. Yep, see D-Hop to TN.

Andy Reid wasn't considered Andy Reid when he got fired from the eagles and he was considered a good coach who could not get over the hump He would have gotten over the hump in Philly and he did in Kansas City You either have it or you don't... Sean McDermott has more top five defenses for creating turnovers in his first 16 in years than the goat Bill belichick... Is our defense as consistent as bills were at his peak? No... Does Sean have a lot of elite coaching abilities and can still grow? Yes If the elite list was belichick and Andy Reid from the last 15 years... Sean McDermott is absolutely in the tear below them with Mike Tomlin and harbaugh etc

So you have no hesitation whatsoever putting McDermott in the same company as Belichick and Reid

Just "vastly experienced" lol

Siri, what other factors could cause costs to rise: Thanks Siri.

Head coach is in charge of everything There's people here again who thinks Steve spagnola is a defensive genius... Yet there's a reason why he'll never get the chance at coaching another NFL team as a HC It's because he can't successfully Sean McDermott overseas this entire team not just the defense , fingerprints are all over the team Andy Reid in Philadelphia was known for having very strong defenses too Point stands Andy Reid as a head coach has lost more games than Sean scoring 24.. he said it didn't happen I proved it Bill belichick gets credit for helping to develop Tom Brady and he does and he's a defensive coach Sean McDermott gets the credit for rebuilding the Buffalo Bills and we are now perennially considered a top five team
