I’ll admit to occasionally referring to people in the cult. It’s a personal failing of mine and I’m trying restraint on that. One of my pet peeves is that it’s all too common here on PPP to assume someone supports whatever the bozo or ex-bozo in the white house is doing, just because they identify with their party. I’m guilty too. The reality is that we all just cast our vote with whoever we think might be best. Then the bozo gets in there and does all sorts of stuff we as individuals may or may not be 100% crazy about. Each of us are more complex than simple presidential agendas and issues are often far more nuanced than presented in the news. Often, we only know one side of an issue while someone else sees the other side. Addressing crime in cities is a complex problem. By most accounts, crime is falling in cities. Trump wants you to think crime is out of control and rampant in blue cities to justify his strongman policies. I’m not sure if DC is following this general trend, but there is still good reason for restraint when deploying troops. Policing is a very difficult job requiring knowledge of law and civillian rights. Troops do not have the same training. They legally get 30 days to try this out. Let’s see how residents of the city like it as it’s their community.
