Thanks that makes sense! I'll still count them for my evaluation of Max.

Plausible X/#1 receiver trade candidates — are there any?
SCBills replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
A caller to postgame made the correct statement last night… essentially “we need to overpay bc of Beane’s mismanagement of the roster” It is what it is. Shaheed as a rental is obviously not worth a 3. But if he’s one of only a couple outside receivers available, beggars can’t be choosers. -
The first one didn't count on the stat sheet because of the penalty. The second one I'm guessing they officially recorded it as a throwaway? Even official stats can be subjective like that.

is that really what you got out if it? wow.

A Few Thoughts about the Panthers Game - Community Edition
Steve O replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Possible. You would think he would have plenty of low profile hot chicks to choose from rather than picking one that's on the road more than him. -

First play the read is low to high, which has been the case on almost every play since Brady took over. Second play I'm very confused about the route combination on the right side. Shakir's route has him practically running into Coleman... Zero chance of Allen hitting the top of his drop and completing that pass. Looks to me like Allen has the right read here. He's looking at the safety sitting on the 50 yard line to see if he declares for Shavers or Kincaid. Whichever one he declares Allen will hit the other one. Of course Shavers' CB straight up tackles him which kills that concept but also draws an easy penalty. -

If that’s what it takes, so be it. I agree that we need to make a move for a WR. I was just to get better value -
Ed Oliver bicep injury - out for game
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's probably gone for the year, so the answer is no, we can't count on him, at least this year. Going forward...he hasn't been too injury prone in his career and it's hard to say having someone step on your ankle in practice and tearing a bicep are in any way related. -
Unfortunately this is the dark truth especially with the offense that has forever bothered a lot of people and no WR addition over true quality. Expecting the offense to be at that peak which meant record low turnovers, sacks, & penalties is statistically impossible. I had hoped that the defense with all the investment would be able to carry its weight more and that would swing the difference. With injuries this year you will probably not see the full vision and the defense was not good the first 6 weeks. I will say yesterday they looked really good with a lot of those additions playing granted it was against Dalton. At this point I am hoping they can add a good WR so the offenses potential is higher and the defense molds into a unit that can create pressure at the line without giving up a ton of big plays. IF that happens it could be a different year. But your premise is spot on and why so many including myself were frustrated with how the offense was constructued.

That feels a little melodramatic. I think a WR1 should rightfully be the priority at the trade deadline. It's the easiest thing to fix with a single player, but I don't think it'll be as impactful of a swing as you're saying. We need to see Brady get more creative and scheme guys better than what he's currently doing.

Charles Romes started following Max Hairston reps against Carolina

I like the way Hairston wildly celebrates every incomplete pass for any reason, often punctuating the celebration with the referee hands-crossed-hands-wide hand signal for “pass incomplete”. It’s exactly what I do at home watching the game.

Give how much critical, foundation building time that he has missed, I thought he looked outstanding.

Whyever would I trade a HC whose teams tend to outplay their talent level for a HC who has demonstrated that his teams have had less success with much more talent, especially in the playoffs? People whine about McDermott "wasting" Josh Allen, but it was Harbaugh wasted the first five years or so of Lamar Jackson's career by keeping Greg Roman as his OC rather than insisting on developing Lamar as a better passer. I don't know why Harbaugh's teams fail so often in clutch situations like the playoffs, but they do. They seem to be teams that play well with leads but have no ability to overcome adversity. Pass on both Harbaughs, but especially the one from Baltimore.

I don't think that is as gimmie as you think. The CB was in trail position and could have made a play on the ball, especially if it wasn't placed perfectly. Can Josh make that throw? Of course. Should he attempt it? To Elijah Moore? That's more debatable. -
@HappyDays - I wonder why Carl Jones said Max wasn't targeted in his little blurb about his video clip when he was clearly thrown at 2 times? (both incomplete)
-
Keep protecting those pedos.

Your not concerned about his tackling? That's the only thing for me, I agree with the rest. But I'm also excited to see more of Hancock. I don't think people realize that Hancock has a 6'4" wingspan.

But that doesn't explain Josh simply not seeing a gimme touchdown two Moore. No safety over the top. Moore with a step and a half on the defender. We've seen Josh throw 10 touchdowns like that. He should have seen that opportunity in his pre-snap read, he should have looked off the safety and come back to Moore for the touchdown. Simple completion that any good quarterback will take. My only explanation for not making that throw is that Josh was not prepared to execute that play the way it was designed. He's done it regularly in years past, and the coaches need to figure out how to get him back to doing it.
