Greg Rousseau has turned out to be a complete slug.
FireChans replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wouldn’t it be nice to maybe have our defense force a TO or 2 in Houston’s territory? Just a bridge too far to ask the defense to meaningfully impact the game on a day the offense is struggling against the best defense in football. -
Cratered fast? The Giants are similar to the Bills in a sense. Massive resources allocated to a defense that struggles to get the job done and puts the offense in a hole. On top of that they had a game changing WR lost for the season, injuries to their OL, a RB who was a problem lost to a broken foot and a QB who looks to show real potential seemingly unwilling to protect himself once he’s already picked up the yards needed to move the chains. Not advocating to bring Dab back but I think he got the wrong end of the deal there. Especially when the guy making the moves and deals is still there in Beane Jr. the fact he still got a pass after letting Saquon walk to a division rival after the guy was more than willing to stay in a seemingly inept and stagnant team says enough. I understand the sentiment and Dab should shoulder some of the blame but putting all of it on him is a bit unjust.

Ah I see what caused my confusion. Apologies. -
Id take a chance at it is possible. If his head is on correctly and he’s healthy, the guy is a reasonable addition to any team struggling at the position. Which we are. Not the biggest fan of Aiyuk but it would be an improvement if the first couple of points married the acquisition. I like the Tempo of your post. Make the call!

This is where I'm at. As frustrating as this season has been they absolutely have an incredible chance to get to the super bowl with the state of where the AFC is right now. If anything going in as a road wildcard would take a lot of pressure off.... There is no excuse to not get in. I'm exactly where you are at. And if they get in, I'm actually optimistic a little. Joke is on Tampa then lol

Theyre disappointing on a lot of fronts in the defense but you can have a stud corner and plays can still be made. One dominant guy on the line can help the rest of his positional group out as well as the back end… I’d take a quality edge player or DT and average to mediocre DB’s than I would a stud CB if Benford fit that bill. That’s not to say they wouldn’t make a difference but rather, again, a game wrecker up front makes a bigger difference. Also to boot, you’re absolutely right that Benford is inexcusable as much as Rousseau in terms of $ to product. I like Ed and think he’s a vital missing piece to our problems, the guy can’t be paid that much and be missing to injury or a disappearing act. Big problems all around for big $. Hopefully they can get back to what earned them those contracts. -
Joey bosa will get healthy before the playoffs too assuming he doesn't have any set backs. That cast is off but he's still not 💯 .... When he is, he's a massive massive difference maker in the playoff equation. He can still take a game over similar to what he did vs KC In a playoff game all it takes is a couple ff or sacks to change a game A fully healthy Bosa, Rousseau and Epenesa can generate an organic pass rush. But they all need to be 100%

Wyoming won’t be the only team that retires #17. juss sayin’..

This is why if things break the bills way just a bit, the young guys on defense continue to develop I see a possible run similar to what KC did in 23.... The issues are extremely similar and the cynicism before the playoffs started were similar. Only problem ppl forgot all the success and pedigree of the QB Only concern is can the defense do anything resembling any type of run or possible turnover luck in the playoffs. Ive lost faith in the defense ( in the playoffs) But that KC team had the QB take a step back, they had even more serious wrs issues and a passing game built around a 34 year old te. That KC oline also lost thuney in the playoffs. KC also didn't have some devastating pass rush outside Jones. The issue is can benford get to 100% before the playoffs start and will hairston continue to develop to the point of a borderline shut down cb in the playoffs ... Can younger guys on defense like, Solomon, TJ Sanders, Walker, Mathis , Logue, Dorian Williams, Andressen, Jenkins, Hairston, Bishop , Hancock, Couch, rise up and add something come playoff time? I don't know... The Tampa game gave me substantial hope. The last 5 mins of the Baltimore game, the defense vs KC, etc.... it's definitely there.

I agree that Brady should go. My main reasons are he doesn't adjust to what defenses are doing in-game, and he runs the same plays out of the same formations way too often. But if the Bills and Beane specifically think firing Brady this off-season is enough to help Josh, then they are making a huge mistake. They NEED a talented receiver who offenses have to worry about on every play, who opens up the field. Give up Keon in the deal for a player or to move up in the draft. Then Palmer can play the second fiddle role, and Shakir the slot, and you've got Davis or Samuel at WR4 along with some speedster at WR5. Kincaid and Hawes are fine at TE. Everything should open up with that WR1, and you can also get huge gains with Cook/Ty catching short passes. If we could only do one of the two (fire Brady or get a legit WR1), I'd go with getting the receiver.

If the culture here is really so good, then surely it can withstand (or even turn around) 1 or 2 non choir boy types without upsetting the balance or falling apart. If not, then the culture is fragile, not strong.

Nailed it. Two minutes in, my wife turned to me and said "this is a really long commercial". Was stunned when I told her, "no, this IS the movie". IMDB says the budget for this cinematic experience was $3,000,000.

You are quoting GoBills808 not me above. So if you’re going to have a discussion please don’t quote the wrong person. That’s not my statement. If you’re going to be smug at least get it right what you’re attributing. The Bills are 31st against the run. They are not a playoff caliber D. So yes you have blended discussions. Each loss can be attributed to a poor run D as the key factor in the losses. And since the HC is known for his D expertise that’s a problem. I’ve provided fair balance that in the losses the O is not excused. Happy to continue to conversation but let’s not make up quotes from others about your position. -

Boat race? The offense only scored 12 points!😂 And they turned the ball over twice in their own territory, effectively gifting the Houston offense 6 points. And yet Allen still had the ball with a chance to win the game at the end. Just like the last 2 KC playoff losses. -
