A Few Thoughts about the Steelers Game - Community Edition
UConn James replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was a Ty Johnson run with a facemask call against Pitt. The sky ref did a quick review and called down just at a comedically-timed moment. They can advise on the negative of a call made on the field but they can't call something that that wasn't called on the field. -
I love Jimbo and think it would be awesome if got to 2,000 yards, but after last night, keep sharing the rock with Ray Ray. He looked like his old self last night. It was all a beautiful thing to watch.

Can James Cook run for 2000 yards?

His snap count really isn’t crazy high tbh I think he’s topped 70% of the snaps like three times and even then it isn’t by much. He’s not far off jahmyr Gibbs usage wise Johnathan Taylor has never had below 70% and is pretty frequently in the 90s. -
Wow... so cool.

Same Play 29x's & Jackson Hawes

Jackson Hawes is probably offensive rookie of the year right now if the voters weren’t cowards 😂 -
The game against Cincinnati could end up being a shootout. I could see Josh ending up with four or more TDs in that game. After that game New England and Philadelphia both have real good defenses. Cleveland gives up more points than Buffalo, but they have the best pass rusher in the league in Myles Garrett. The Jets aren't doing a lot defensively this year. Josh might end up with 3 or 4 TDs in that game. I would think Josh could score enough in that middle group of three games to put him over 40 for the season.

Any idea when we will know when the Jets game will be played?
QB Bills replied to Guffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's likely to be the last ever game at the stadium and not sure how much weight that will hold with the schedule makers. Probably not much so I'd assume it's at 1pm. -
While this isnt exactly thr balance were looking for this is amazing to be able to do. Side note Hawes has been a monster and getting even better. Fun short clip, this Film Watchers kid rulesssss https://x.com/Filmwatchers1/status/1995626648381886633?t=_BT8KZd1AjkavBLWrMR4ig&s=19

So we like players because they do community stuff. But all of them pretty much go and see sick kids and hand out turkeys to the poor at Thanksgiving? That’s kind of standard operating procedure for most athletes. No reason to Keep his fat ass overrated hype on the team after this year. He is a mediocre player at this point. Do any of them hang in strip clubs anymore like PacMan Jones? Maybe the Dolphins. lol😂😂

I assume that the scheduling of games that weekend will attempt to put the best games in the premium spots. If Buffalo is fighting to make the playoffs or get a better seed an argument could be made for getting a late spot on Sunday, but I think 1 PM is the most likely time. -
He needs over 150 yards a game for the remaining games to get to 2,000. That ain't happening. Great season, though.

It's hard to say he is the main issue. There are lots of issues that all contribute. But he is one of them, in my opinion. I see the defense, even though it isn't very good, make adjustments and stop the bleeding. That is coaching. So, even though there are plenty issues on defense, we see them right the ship from time to time and make stops, even have entire games where they do really well. When the offense struggles, it just struggles. We don't really see adjustments. We don't often see the offense pick up the team when the defense is struggling. We see the same few plays getting run over and over until it gets stuffed multiple times. And we see average receivers play like they don't even belong in the league. I think the receivers we have should be producing more than they do. The scheme and playcalling does not elevate anyone. And I think the success of the running game is all because of Kromer, not Brady. I'm not one to pick on coaches. I defend McDermott all the time. But I'm pretty suspicious of Brady. I think he is part of the problem.

He sure did against the Bears opening night in the 4th qtr. The kid has moxie. Their O line has been lousy. All he ever hears is how Minnesota should have kept Darnold. The kid is just 22. He did not play in an airial circus at Michigan. It was kind of like…our passing game this year. Give him an offseason to get comfortable. The kid is going to eventually ball out.

Tackling has changed across the entire sport at all levels over the last 20-30 years as an emphasis on player safety, awareness of risks, and officiating have all necessitated the change. Yes, the targeting rule is part of that legislation, but I don't believe it is the cause of those changes. The changes were already happening. I think it is an unnecessary rule and is more for the NCAA to point to to say they take player safety seriously rather than something that really moves the needle.
